OlderTravis Barker, DJ AM Injured in Fatal Plane Crash
Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, were injured in a plane crash that killed four people (3 males, 1 female) and critically injured two, NBC News reports.
Both Travis and DJ AM were in critical condition as of Saturday morning and transported to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia.
The FAA said the plane carrying six people was departing from South Carolina’s Columbia Metropolitan Airport headed to Van Nuys, Calif., when an air traffic controller reported seeing sparks. The plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.
Travis performed Friday night at an event with Perry Farrel, Gavin DeGraw, and DJ AM. Earlier this month, Travis and DJ AM were the house band at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Travis, DJ AM, their friends and family.
UPDATE: The deceased are Sarah Lemmon (pilot), James Bland (co-pilot), Chris Baker (Travis’ assistant) and Charles Still (Travis’ bodyguard). Our deepest condolences and sympathies to all of their families and friends.

Wow. I really hope they are alright. My thoughts and prayers are both with them and those that died in the crash. Sad to hear things like this.

Speaking of DJ AM, I next to nothing about whether or not he’s a “goof-off” or a “douchebag,” as some here say, but I DO know he’s a mind-blowingly talented DJ. He spins music like a natural genius, this guy. Once in a while, they’ll play stuff of his on 103.1, and listening to it, you never want the set to end. He’s got that gift of knowing & feeling music and beats, putting them together seamlessly, he really is a fantastic DJ. He’s one of the best of his kind in the world right now, IMO.
Sorry, not “some of you here,” I was just on another celeb site and was typing that for that particular crowd, not you guys here. Sorry! Just giving DJ AM the props he deserves for the talent that he is.
This is a plane crash. It wouldn’t have been any less tragic if there hadn’t been 2 celebrities on board. People died, and they had families who loved them. Leave the negative comments to yourself. It doesn’t matter what your opinion of the 2 celebrities is, they have families who are in pain right now. Your negativity shows you really don’t care about people, 3rd world country, security guard, or the plane’s crew. It’s called compassion. Compassion for someone who lost their life or compassion for those that survived but were badly injured.

Actualy fying in a plane is much better for the earth than driving around.
(I mean, imagine—100 people per plane, in cars—add the distance= crap)

The back of the plane is always the safest spot on a jet, I’m pretty sure. The farther away you are from the fuel tanks or the wings, the better.
Good lord people, get a grip. Those of you that are bashing folks for praying for a quick recovery to DJ and Barker and not so much to the ones that died, need to back off. Most people with those type of burns would have rather died, trust me. Can you imagine walking around with no nose, ears, lips, etc.? What about walking around with no “manly” parts anymore? Can we not wish them a quick and great recovery? Geez, get a life.

dj am and travis barker were the only survivors. i hope they realize how lucky they got. that would’ve been two more dead celebrities.
