OlderTravis Barker, DJ AM Injured in Fatal Plane Crash
Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, were injured in a plane crash that killed four people (3 males, 1 female) and critically injured two, NBC News reports.
Both Travis and DJ AM were in critical condition as of Saturday morning and transported to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia.
The FAA said the plane carrying six people was departing from South Carolina’s Columbia Metropolitan Airport headed to Van Nuys, Calif., when an air traffic controller reported seeing sparks. The plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.
Travis performed Friday night at an event with Perry Farrel, Gavin DeGraw, and DJ AM. Earlier this month, Travis and DJ AM were the house band at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Travis, DJ AM, their friends and family.
UPDATE: The deceased are Sarah Lemmon (pilot), James Bland (co-pilot), Chris Baker (Travis’ assistant) and Charles Still (Travis’ bodyguard). Our deepest condolences and sympathies to all of their families and friends.

to the person who said even morphine wont take the pain away. i beg to differ. i worked there and i know what is given and they dont even remember their stay there after we get them back up to stable and healing. they will have a lot of psychological issues for sure. it is sad. but believe me, their pain level will def be taken care of.

That is really sad. Just goes to show that we never know when our number is up or when we will have a complete u-turn in our life.

MSNBC tapped into a local South Carolina affiliate and reported this eyewitness account. A local man saw what he termed “a fireball rolling across the highway.”
Once he realized it was an airplane, he pulled over and approached the scene to help, nothing that jet fuel was strewn across the five-lane road.
He then reported seeing two men who were “basically dumped out of the airplane upon the crash, who were standing in the road on fire, hitting each other trying to put the fire out.”
Both Travis and DJ AM jumped out of the airplane doors upon impact. Travis was severly burned from the waist down and DJ AM was severly burned on his face.
Talk about Hell…. So sad.
My prayers and thoughts are with the family that passed and Travis and Adam’s family too. Hope they get thru this. It will be hard.

I get the comments about the celebrity thing. For instance, 40 people died in a terrorist attack today but this store gets more coverage. I do hope the best for Travis and AM. But rest assured they have family and friends and fans who love them. Some people aren’t so lucky.
This is soooo sad! At the memorial service a few hours ago, someone was passing out slips of paper that had a website printed on it where you could go to send them get well messages. I just did. http://www.getwelltravis.com, if any of you want to do the same.

Its especially sad that one of the ppl who died was Travis’s assistant who was recently married and had a new baby.
and for those of you who are going on about them getting a privet jet indtead of commercial, coz their celebs they were gunna get a commercial flight but they got a privet jet so that chris could get home to his wife that was giving birth, and none of you should be saying tht DJ or travis should die tht is so disgusting of you to say and to the person tht sed travis has no talent got get ur ears checked because he is an amazing drummer you are just jelous

I hope they get better and can return to their families soon. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those on board that plane.
I feel bad for them but it sounds like their injuries could have been far worse.

Awww.. this is terrible. My heart goes out to each one of them and their families. Being a bodyguard, you protect with your life. Being a Personal Assistant?? Wow! It’s just so sad!
And being a pilot? You take your chances every time you fly a plane. It’s sad… Just terrible to hear… Terrible thing to happen to anyone…
