Lauren Conrad - Emmys 2008 Red Carpet
Lauren Conrad is all smiles in a navy chiffon gown she designed herself for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards held at Nokia Theatre on Sunday (September 21) in Los Angeles.
The 22-year-old Hills star is set to present at the ceremony. Lauren and last season’s Project Runway winner Christian Siriano also designed gowns for the trophy girls this year.

Seriously? She is not a designer! her dress is boring my 5 yr old sister could have been more creative. the dress is average and boring and that broach is BORING! plus her make up looks like it does evry single day… I think she is a beautiful girl and she looks pretty but she is NOT a brilliant designer as she might think she is..oh btw that dress looks like somethink you can buy on macys for $49.99

NOW is the dress special. unique. a stand out. a dress that looks like it was designed by a great designer? NO. Lauren is a pretty girl and she wears some really cute stuff.. BUT she’s not an inovater of any sort..
I could walk into a dress store and see one just like that. .. her dress she made is nothing special..
But she does look very pretty..
But i can’t call her a fashion designer.. I can only call her a wannabe fashion designer..
She needs to original in her design and seperate her designs from everything else out there.. If she’s gonna be taken as a real designer she needs to step her game up .. She comes no where close to the taste and the designs that Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, Vera Wang, or Zac Posen… Those are REAL fashion designer.
She’s a pretty girl .. but she’s not a fashion designer. let’s get real.
why all the hate? Because she’s no designer and her dress is underwhelming. If you want to talk about beautiful dresses, America Ferera’s and Mariska Hargitay look absolutely stunning in their’s.

She looks beautiful. It’s a classic design and nothing is wrong with that. She totally fits in with the rest of the gowns. Give her a break, she is only 22 years old and just starting out.
And yes she should be there. She has been on MTV’s top show for 4 years. So what if she doesn’t act. I would like to see one of those actors carry a show without a script for 4 years. Stop putting her down!!!!!
She looks great! I am a Lauren Conrad fan…I like the dress. I would wear it, but I was hoping for a little more from her.
46- lol she shouldnt be there just cuz shes been on mtv! shes a REALITY tv star! she doesnt actually do anything to do with performing, acting, anything. so it just seems awfully random that she was asked to design a dress and present. especially when her clothing line hasnt been doing that well due to its insane pricing.
and what do u mean u’d like to see ppl be on a show without a script??? it’d be pretty damn easy! im sure they would kill to be paid almost 100 grand per episode to just go to lunch and talk about their friends. im sure anyone would rather do that instead of an actual job. she gets paid more than half of the actors there and they actually work their butts off everyday.
you dont needto be a “designer” to make a dress like that. it’s plain & boring.
It is so average I could find that exact dress any department store. Its sad that she is considered a designer!!
