The song is OK! but my cookie is screaming and I do not feel the emotion, why oH why!! I don’t know if I really like this song, I have a mixed feeling right now….
This picture is smoking hot!!!!!!! Whether he wears eyeliner or absolutely nothing at all, he is hot!!! Why is it that everytime someone has success, he has to be gay? Some of these comments are so juvenile it’s unbelievable.
Personally, I love the new single, his old material, and his voice in general. So to all you haters: sit back and watch the CD sales and you will find that you are of the minority. I guarantee you DC will sell millions and leave you eating crow!!!!!! We used to read this crap about Daughtry, as well. I’m not reading so much of that crap now after Daughtry has sold over 4 million CD’s. Funny how that works!

Mr. Cook…your song has definitely grown on me, but I still contend that the best part of the whole song is at 2:50 when your voice comes out pure and sure. I’d love to hear more of that in your upcoming records.

Those of you who are being over-critical of the picture need to get a life! Take a look at the start of the majority of celebrities - especially singers - and you’ll find the look changes considerably until they get their signature style down.
The song took me a couple of listens to love it, but I do. It’s classic David Cook… a little bit of an edgy sound to a positive, passionate message. I can’t wait until he has an album out… I think he’ll be a real contributor to the music industry.
I think he is AMAZING… from the very beginning of idol he was on another level than the others… he was born to do what he is doing!!!! I think he looks great… they put make up on everyone for photo shoots… that doesnt change him or his talent!

It’s sad how cruel people can be just because they don’t care for a picture or prefer another artist. Yes, David Archuletta is good, but why compare these guys over and over again because Cook won? I bet both of them think people are crazy to do so; after all, they get along very well and probably don’t understand these crazy fans who bash one due to liking the other. And, to say Cook’s gay because of a picture that probably wasn’t even his idea, well, that’s pretty sad too. To those of you who have nothing nice to say - are you that insecure or just plain mean? It’s time to grow up and try to be better people.
As for this song…it’s AMAZING. Listen to it a few times (really listen). David’s voice is wonderful (Daughtry is good too, but Cook’s got the better voice - hands down), and the lyrics are great as well.
In my opinion, he’s gorgeous…even in this picture. His eyes and facial features are beautiful. So what if he has some makeup on; find me an album cover or magazine picture of any star (men included) who don’t. Funny how many singers, especially rockers, have worn much more makeup than this yet some of you choose to be so cruel to Cook. Oh, I know…just because a guy is nice or might have some makeup on in a picture means he’s gay, right? Well, NO MATTER WHAT, David Cook is the real deal, and he deserves respect. He’s absolutely amazing…too bad some can’t be decent and respect others vs. bash them to make themselves feel better or “look cool”. To the good people in the world, your cruel comments are just sad, and we feel bad for you.

It’s nice to see someone write a nice comment and not mention issues with a little bit of makeup or how someone else has a better song. Isn’t it sad how many of Archuletta’s fans seem so threatened or bothered by Cook…as if they can’t both be good, both do well and both be treated as they deserve. :o) I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album either - if the other songs are half as good as this one, it’ll be amazing and should do very well. It comes out November 18th, right?

The first time I heard this song, I thought about my son-in-law who just got deployed leaving my daughter at home eight months pregnant with their first baby. I’ve seen the anguish that he went through telling her that his obligation to serve his country supersedes the obligations to his wife and unborn son. Even after reading the lyrics, which is more likely about the pain of a breakup, I see my daughter leaving a light on for him to return home.
