I think they blew it with the poster. Adding the boy distracts attention from a wonderfuly contemplative Angelina. We all know by now what the subject of the movie is.

Stunning and the outline of the child makes it seem less of a cosmetic ad than if she were on there herself.

I disagree. I like it.

Brad and their children are the grounding rock solid foundation of Angie’s life. I agree with you that she most likely takes her popularity in stride, aware of it of course, but relegating it to a tiny corner of her life. She has 7 people in her life that matter more than anything else in the world, and they are whom she concentrates on, not her career. She has said that they, her family, are her #1 priority and that is how she lives her life. How many actors at the height of their popularity and at her age takes time off like she does to concentrate on her family, very few do. She can pick and choose her projects and seems to choose those that will take no more than 2-3 months to film. She and Brad carefully coordinate their working schedules so that one parent is home with their kids. Work is certainly not the driving force in Angie’s life.

I am so happy for her that Brad came into her life, no matter the negativity attached to them by tabloids, they enrich each others lives so much in every way. I think both were needy for unconditional love from someone who completely accepted them as they are and that is what they give each other. No question about that in my mind. Both have been profoundly changed by their relationship, because Love and Trust and Respect are transforming.

Her phony collagen pillow lips have come to look more and more like an old dog’s ärsehole.

Imagine this poster on the side of a bus stop, or billboard. It will stop traffic. She should have more of a tragic look I think, but what do I know? I can’t wait to see this movie.

i see what you’re saying and it does distract from her, the main focus.

it’s almost as if the child was pasted on as an after thought. also, having him there giving away a lot more of the story than i think, necessary. sure, most people know what the story is about but still, i was expecting something more mysterious or at least more reflective of the moods or feelings of the movie rather than a literal translation of what the movie is about. without the kid people would be wondering: angelina? changeling? rather than what’s with the kid and angelina jolie?

I’ve told this before but at one of the movie sites I visit there was a report during the WGA strike from one of the posters. He said he was present during a conversation between his boss and a high muckety muck in the Writers Union about the SOP brouhaha when Brad refused to work unless they waited for the strike to end and fix the allegedly very weak script. The poster worked up the nerve to ask the union leader about the Pitt/Crowe SOP scenario and why Crowe would have taken the role in the midst of strike.

Here’s the post with the Poster’s identity I am redacting:

“I got the chance to discuss the strike with a WGA member who is pretty high up on the food chain. He and my boss are friends and of course when I found out who he was (to be honest his name didn’t ring any bells) and what he does for a living I had to ask his take on the progress of the strike. In the course of our conversation, totally unprompted he brings up Pitt and Crowe. Now he didn’t go as far as to call Crowe a scab but he did say that the WGA has a long memory and is making note of who is a friend (Pitt) and who sided with the enemy, meaning the studio (Crowe).

I asked him [the WGA union leader] why he thought Crowe made the decision he did. Possible reasons:

1. money
2. because he’s a **** (his word not mine)
3. When Crowe signed on he thought the strike was soon to end thus he would get the rewrites needed
4. All of the above

I tossed out, “Maybe he liked the script as is?” I was told the script, as is -is weak.”

Thanks for the info! LOL. I read on a couple of movie sites at the time RC signed on that it was mostly about the money for him and he pretty much stuck it to Uni because he knew they were desperate to get SOP in the can. Same with Ben Affleck. Neither of them would have gotten such huge paydays if it weren’t for Brad holding out for a better script. Reports were that RC bagged nearly $20MIL for SOP and he hasn’t had a payday that huge since Gladiator.

She’s playing a woman who’s son is missing, the police have substituted another boy, she’s thrown in a mental ward, finds out her child was killed by pedo serial killer…and you want her to be tan, youthful and perky? Then when he stated in an interview that there were things he had to change since he has kids because Z has swallowed a piece of ice that he dropped while pouring beer, He was lying who has ice in beer it was liquor. I thnk it scared him but he still drinks A LOT. That’s been repeated before.

The opinion of someone I have never met, nor am likely to meet wouldn’t matter. Just as my opinion of AJ as an actress shouldn’t matter to someone who is a fan.

Well I’m going to try and post this again, and hope this board isn’t censoring a differing opinion.

No not sensitive, just puzzled why a person who writes a dissenting post, is classified as a fan of JA. The subsequent poster, managed to express hi/her disagreement by explaining why they believe AJ to be a good actress and secondly, without attacking me, unlike you.

It’s the same with the JA threads they descend into AJ sqawking. I don’t understand why people can’t post on their admiration with (a) bringing a completely unrelated actress into the mix and (b) making (in an aggressive manner) assumptions against people who disagree.

This thread is brilliant. Apart from a couple of posters, no-one is able to string together a coherent argument. Or am I precluded from answering posts addressed to me? If a person I don’t know attributes personality traits to me, because I don’t share their liking for an actress who they will never meet, trust me, I find that hilarious.

MANILA, Philippines — Why look to Hollywood’s Angelina Jolie when the Senate can have its own version of the award-winning actress?

Responding to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s (MILF) call, opposition Senator Loren Legarda said she could be the Jolie of the Philippines, who could provide humanitarian assistance for the people in Mindanao.

“Bakit hindi, di ba [Why not, what do you think]?” Legarda told reporters on Friday when asked if she could be the one that could help solve the problem in the war-torn region.

“Hindi ba sinabi ko na yan dati, [Didn’t I say that before], politics is secondary to me. What I really like to do is what Angelina has been doing, which is humanitarian work,” she said.

Legarda said she had long expressed her desire to do humanitarian work even before the MILF had made the call.

“One or two years ago, sinabi ko na yun [I already said that]. Ang trabahong gusto ko talaga ay [The work I really want is] humanitarian in nature. Yung pamumulitika ay di ko masyadong type e [Politicking is not too much of my type]. Yung trabaho ni Angelina Jolie ang mas type ko [The work of Angelina Jolie is what I really like]. Hindi yung pag-aartista niya ha [Not her acting, okay],” she said.

Legarda added, “Papayag akong maging Angelina Jolie sa kanyang humanitarian work at pagtulong pero wala lang [I will agree to be Angelina Jolie as far as her humanitarian work is concerned except that there is no] Brad Pitt, unfortunately,” referring to the popular actor and the actress’ live-in partner.

The MILF’s call for the Hollywood actress to mediate in the armed conflict in Mindanao came after Malacañang announced that it would ask the United Nations to declare as terrorists those who have launched a series of attacks in some parts of the region last month.
Although she welcomed the call, Legarda said it would still be best that the country solve its own problem.

“If she [Jolie] can help solve the problem why not?” said the senator.
“But it would be best for us to solve our problems by ourselves. But of course, the help from celebrities who have a big heart is always welcome,” she added.

Its amazing the number of women wh want to be like Angie . They admire her acting and philantrophy work.
Angie says she would like to be remembered for her humanitarian work and not so much an actress. I dont thinkshe has to worry about that at all.
People already do think of her as the great humanitarian plus an critically acclaimed oscar winner as in great actress.

You do realize, or don’t you, how many times the tabloids have been wrong about this couple?

If I had a nickel for every time they claimed Brad was leaving Angie, or Angie was leaving Brad, I’d be rich by now.

They have been “leaving each other” for the past three and a half years, and have made three babies together in the interim.

And don’t forget about that hilarious blooper by Star Magazine last spring, when they claimed they had gotten married in New Orleans, and then tried to bribe the parish priest $3000 when the story fell apart.

See, honey, tabloids make sh*t up to sell magazines. They know people like you believe that “where there’s smoke, there’s fire”, so they make up stories so that dimwits like you will buy their magazines. And like the dimwit you are, you can’t get enough.

What you don’t understand, or don’t want to understand, is that the tabloid editors are taking advantage of you. They think, “These people are so dumb they will believe anything they want to hear, so we will print more Brangelina break-up stories because that’s what they want to read about, and that way we will sell more magazines.”

It’s crazy how Ms. Jolie keeps getting offered highly-coveted lead movie roles, numerous acting awards and nominations, critically acclaimed performances, top-dollar paychecks, compliments from giants in the movie industry (Morgan Freeman, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington) and beauty and luxury fashion contracts.

And what’s with her UN humanitarian missions to dangerous parts of the world since 2002, speaking engagements in the US Congress, meetings with military generals, politicians and pundits, op-editorial articles in respected newspapers and those dastardly charity donations?
Not to add that she’s showing off with her private pilot’s license and motorcycle riding!
She’s even made tattoos and lesbianism cool and a “rite of passage for the Hollywood young. Dang her!

Why, the public is so sick of her that just her last 3 movies have grossed almost $1 BILLION.
She is so ordinary that Ms Jolie is the most-searched person on the internet.

Now, for MY opinon on these 3 ladies that YOU like?
1) Penelope Cruz
She was hot in her early 20s. Now she looks like a tranny. And she’s getting that fleshy look that comes with age. Her hips are already wide, and she hasn’t even birthed a baby. Look out - those hips will widen even more.
Speech coaches have gotten nowhere with Cruz’s accent because her accented English is atrocious.

2) Monica Belluci - She’s still waiting for that big break eh? She better hurry up, she’s not getting any younger or slimmer! But she’s got to work on that accent as well.

3 Sophie Marceau - Have you seen her lately? That’s right. Neither has anyone.

Your favorite actresses are so HOT right now they are getting the plum acting roles, the critical acting awards, the big paychecks, the adulation of the public, the fawning of the media.

Angelina Jolie is such an in icon that there are many things that are made on her likeness such as:

Artists immortalize Angie because she is breathtakingly unique & beautiful, AND NATURAL AT THAT unlike others who keep on doing it to the point of accusing Angie doing the same. Videos & pictures are manipulated just to show that Angie i s not “natural” in her physical assets especially her face. The fact is, despite not resorting to surgeries or anything artificial means, Angie’s natural look still makes her sought-after by a lot of people. Deal with it!

Three more days, we are going to see Angie & maybe Brad on the red carpet.
