Brad Pitt Films Inglorious Bastards

Brad Pitt leaves the Vino e Cucina restaurant in Berlin-Mitte and then joins the cast of his latest movie Inglorious Bastards, at Babelsberg studios, Germany to see each other and to receive their copies of the script.

Pitt’s family will live at a 12,000 square foot mansion near Berlin which comes complete with a helicopter landing pad, boat dock, 14-strong security staff and more than one chef, while he films Inglorious Bastards. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt arrived in Germany on Tuesday with their children and will reportedly be staying for approximately three months.

In this latest Quentin Tarantino movie, Pitt plays the leader of a band of Jewish-American soldiers sent behind enemy lines during the Second World War to scalp high-ranking Nazis.

1) The Bush Adm has spent 7 years fcuking up this country and getting us into the mess we are in now. Or don’t you read the papers?

2) The VP candidate is a blithering idiot. But next to Bush she actually looks halfway intelligent.

I completely agree with you!

Trip, dont forget your aliases.

Are you really comparing the number of times you post versus the fans?
~~~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~
Diana, you should be fair and name the aliases because I have no clue who they are . I post as TRIP and before that I mostly lurked. I have no reason to use a different name because I don’t have any fear of you hunting me down and beating me up for my opinion on a g’damn celeb board.
Your post you be directed to the person I was replying to. the name of that poster is LOL. Now be gone.
With his usual breath-taking stupidity, Bush announced that if Congress doesn’t approve the bailout, the entire American economy will go down the tubes. A stunningly idiotic move on either count: a) either he’s lying through his teeth to get Congress to pass his bailout plan, like he lied about the non-existent WMDs to get Congress to approve invading Iraq, in which case he’s crying wolf AGAIN and why the hell should anybody believe him; or b), he’s actually telling the truth this time, in which case the resulting panic will make it become a self-fulfilling prophecy. This guy doesn’t waste any time thinking. And I’m not at all sanguine that someone who ranked 894th out of his graduating class of 899 is competent to get us out of this mess.
Angelina Jolie has more foreign experience than Barack Obama.
So next time an Obama supporter tells you how qualified Obama is, show them Jolie’s credentials.
We would never vote Jolie into the White House, why would we vote Obama?
_________________________________
Palin is running as a VP. Barack is running for the White House and Yes, Jolie has more foreign experience than Barack Obama.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You know, I was gonna let all this pass this then decided not.
I was going to let all this pass too, then decided to say that I strongly disagree with you!
First, with the greatest of respect, NO ONE I KNOW has less foreign experience then Palin.
So? She is running for Veep, or have you forgotten that? Obviously she has innate qualities that McCain finds appropriate in a Veep.
She got her first pass port 2 years ago. Even my 80 year dad and 78 year old mum got their passports 30 years ago, have visited Europe and China and Australia.
I’m now using my sixth(!) passport, living in different countries and visiting many countries. It doesn’t mean I have experience to run for political office.
Palin has executive experience, running a town, then a state. BO himself said he “yaks!’ Palin is the boss of thousands of people and manages a multi-billion dollar budget.
A few years ago I read that only 14 % of Americans have a passport. I’m sure that figure is higher now. Say 20%. That doesn’t mean that the remaining 80% are all ignorant people.
Palin has executive experience. The three guys, McCain, BO and Biden, don’t. All they do is ‘yak!’ (BO himself said it!) No, BO doesn’t run his campaign. A campaign manager does that.
Second Obama himself has lived and visited foreign realms several times in his life in his private capacity - which is more than what anyone can say about Palin. Yes, as a child, he lived for 3 years in Indonesia.
Yes, I believe he was 6 or 7 when he arrived in Jakarta, where he went to the mosque with his Muslim stepfather.
His mother returned to Indonesia for a period of time and he may well have visited his mum there. he also spent some holiday time in Europe and Kenya. Holiday time? you might say BUT that’s more than what you can say about Palin. Plus he chose to spend several months in Bali to finish his book.
So what? Besides, it’s funny how people keep comparing BO to Sarah Palin. What’s with that? Let me remind people again that she is running for Veep. BO is running for president, so compare him to McCain.
So perhaps obama has spent less time abroad then Angelina, but much more than most americans and definitely greatly more than Palin.
Spending time/living abroad as a kid and on holidays does NOT automatically translate into experience for political office.
Having said all this, it’s destiny that will decide the next leader.
As far as I can see you are the one who does not belong here in Brad Pitt’s thread. So get lost.
I was going to respond to #603 post but you beat me to it. Great rebuttal! ITA!
Jill -
For your info, Bill Gates dropped out of college. But he’s the CEO of microsoft and the richest man in the world. So GPA or ranking in class is not a true indication of one’s intelligence.
634 voe @ 09/27/2008 at 2:16 am Orchid,
Thank you! I do think people hold it against Sarah Palin that she is not ugly. I so agree with Schlumberger (post #635). If McCain wins, Palin will learn everything she needs to know.
Besides, what is it about foreign leaders that is so special? They’re just people too, with imperfections. They don’t know everything either. Women are as good as, and often better than, men!
ITA Schlumberger.
Orchid, I am with you too. The only difference I want to voice is that I believe that somewomen are better than men in politic, not all.
Of course, voe! I’m certainly not talking about all women. Imagine if he picked Pamela Andersen!
McCain picked Palin because in his judgement she can do the job. He is not crazy to pick her just because she is a pretty face. Looking good is a bonus.
When Pakistan’s president, Asif Ali Zardari, called Palin ‘gorgeous’ when they met at the UN, her critics right away said that men just want to sleep with her! I’m tired of the sexism and the double standards.
Geraldine Ferraro, who ran for Veep in the 80s, was asked if she thinks Palin can do the job. Her answer was a definite ‘yes.’
Glad that we’re on the same page. I’m such a freaky sticker for technicality of wording. :D
Sexism from the men is expected and I can deal with it, and certainly Palin (as well as Jolie, Ferraro and the likes) can too. It is the sexism from our fellow women that bothers me, particularly those who claim to be smart, intelligent and worldly open-minded..
dianad1968 @ 09/27/2008 at 12:34 pm
I am reading the comments about Sarah Palin above, and although I dont support the Republican Party, I have to say I am disgusted how some in the media are bashing this woman, and I do believe that the reason for the extreme criticism is because of her gender. It’s exactly what wwas done to Hillary, and it’s a shame that in America in this day and age, people still cannot wrap their minds around the possibility of a woman President or VP.
Personally, I like none of the candidates, and am sad that these are the best America has to offer during these critical times. But, they should be judged on their accomplishments, not gender. I was pretty disgusted when soon after McCain announced her as his VP pick, that the group Moveon.org had these slanderous stories that her last baby was her daughter’s, which then opened the door for them to find out about her daughter’s pregnancy. Life happens, and there are lots of familes dealing with teenage pregnancies, no matter how vigilant th parents try to be. That should have been off-limits, with the family choosing when and how they revealed it.
Jen's Mole @ 09/27/2008 at 2:50 pm
Anyone who aspires to be vice-president is going to be under scrutiny. Palin’s record is one of secrecy, vindictive abuse of power and cronyism. That has nothing to do with her beauty or her gender. Her religious affiliations are also highly relevant to her desire to be in the White House. Hatred of gays and feminist is unacceptable. Having as your pastor a guy that states that people’s salvation is in question if they vote for John Kerry is unacceptable, whether he was joking or not. Allowing yourself to be blessed by a demagogue, who rose to fame and riches by targeting a woman he didn’t like in the community, and branding her as a witch, is revolting.
Palin’s church is a holy-roller sect. Read up on Pentecostals and you will see why people are suspicious of Palin’s morality.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjoe_Gortner. An award winning documentary about him is available on Netflix.
Jen’s Mole,
I am not suspicious of Palin’s or any one’s morality. So please do not use the generalized word “people”.
Every one should be allowed to love, like, hate, dislike any one, any thing. This is true freedom, not freedom which only suits you.
Wasn’t Obama a member of a biased church too? Why don’t you and your people question his morality?
dianad1968,
Agree with you.
I just KNOW all the gossip re Angelina & Brad ’splitting-up’ is absolute RUBBISH, but it really upsets me to read it / see it plastered everywhere - AND I do so hope that Angelina is okay and not reading any of the SHITE.
Brad is working so hard and has to promote his films - how else can this lovely family carry on and keep doing all the good work they have planned???
And dear Angelina - just had twins for goodness sakes - doing her best to keep their chldren safe, content, secure, happy, bonded etc. etc. - why oh why aren’t the media congratulating her instead of promoting her as having a breakdown and not eating . . . .
It makes me sooo ANGRY - us women with children KNOW what demands Brad & Angelina have on their hands.
So to dear Angelina & Brad:_-please keep on doing what you do; I and millions of others are here supporting you all the way - you are managing to do so much good in the world, and are inspitational to us. AND PLEASE hang-on-in there with the sleepless nights - you are a great couple and so good together (as your mother said, Angelina: “Marry this one, he is the one; such a good person” and he loves you so much Angelina, and the children -I just KNOW this, trust me!!).
Please everyone - as MY mother used to say to me: “If you don’t have anything positive to say, then don’t say anything.”
love & very besy wishes to the Jolie-Pitts xxxxxxxx (8 kisses - one each)
from Jacqueline, London UK (mother of a mere two daughters and just turned 58 :-II )
Jacqueline, so touching !!! Your post is something different. I could really feel your concern for Angie & Brad. Your motherly care for them is very inspiring to think as I presume just like everyone else, you do not know them personally. The words of emotions you have expressed, both anger for the gossip mongers and encouragement for the couple, are spot on.
Brad & Angie are very blessed to have you as their supporter as you seem to think of their welfare always, and appreciate the good things they are doing with their personal & professional lives together. You seem to be passionate with the importance of the role of a woman with children just like Angelina. And it’s very good to know someone is saying her piece for this. Tabloids seem to forget that being a mother & partner or building a family is not easy, and it is indeed very unfair for people to spread lies instead of be inspired by the couple’s good example to the public.
Thank you, Jacqueline for this wonderful message. To have it reposted is not enough to convey how grateful I am for having the chance to read an enlightening post such as yours. How I wish you write & post more often as I love to read & to know your ideas on many things.
I agree with neer, Jacqueline! I think of the posters in that horrible FF board who are all or mainly from the UK (?). It makes one wonder, where is all the hate coming from.
The Circuitous Course of Benjamin Button
The zig-zag path from Fitzgerald short story to Fincher epic is outlined in the NYTimes, following The Curious Case of Benjamin Button across a minefield of interpretations (a comedy starring Martin Short!), as the property was passed many hands over the past two decades (Speilberg and Spike Jonz among the directors once attached.) It’s a rewrite history that began in the early ’90s with producer Ray Stark; stalled when the artisic demands could not be fulfilled until technology caught up; and re-ignited when Forrest Gump author Eric Roth’s script landed at Paramount — with particuar focus on Brad Grey and his desire to occasionally “serve art and commerce in the same picture.”
Under Mr. Grey, who took charge of Paramount in 2005, the studio has been an aggressive player in the Oscar game. But usually it has sought awards through its Paramount Vantage division, which is now cutting staff and looking for crowd-pleasers as much as award contenders. “Babel,” a best-picture nominee in 2007, and “There Will Be Blood,” nominated as best picture this year, both came from that unit.
The article has ‘Oscar’ in the headline, offers a year-end rundown of the same titles we’ve been discussing for Best Picture for months, and poses a December showdown based on early impressions from industry insiders:
Some publicists who specialize in Oscar campaigns are privately predicting a year-end shootout between “Button” and “Frost/Nixon,” a planned December release from Universal Pictures, directed by Ron Howard and with Michael Sheen and Frank Langella in the title roles. The films have been seen by few, but the campaign machinery is already lining up behind them.
Though the time-span of Fitzgerald’s story extends from the 1860’s to World War I, Fincher’s adaptation shifts the action forward so that it now begins in the Twenties and bridges more than 80 years of New Orleans history all the way through Katrina.
