LOL - the sopranos - that’s a good one. What’s up today? Just finished watching the Buckeyes kick some Gopher butt.

I don’t get it. I saw these trailers a couple of months ago when I went to see a film (i live in nz). How is this a first look?

This is a sad day. Paul Newman was a fantastic actor and a wonderful person. He will be missed.

You’re very annoying! That amount you’re talking about is 14 MILLION DOLLARS, not 14 bucks or 1400 bucks, so they need to spend it in an instant when they’ve got the money. It’s wise that they spend it slowly to charities. Slow doesn’t mean never. Use your common sense to judge. It’s only fair.

when is the premier for Angie film does anybody know?

Actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did not attend the initiative but called Clinton on Friday morning and said they would help rebuild 12 schools in Haiti, as they have been doing in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina three years ago.

IN REVERSE
It took “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” about 80 years to make it to the big screen, but Eric Roth finally managed to turn F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story into a viable Hollywood project. The David Fincher-directed movie which opens Christmas Day and stars Brad Pitt, had been lingering in development hell for years as directors and screenplays came and went. When Roth got his hands on the project a couple of years ago, he found the themes particularly resonant.
“Fitzgerald’s story is about a man who ages backward,” says Roth, who will be honored with a Mill Valley Film Festival tribute on October 11. “When I read the piece, it coalesced with a lot of things in my own life. My own mother was about to pass away, and I just felt myself getting older, I saw my children getting older, that kind of thing. The passage of time - that’s not an uncommon theme in my work. ”
Roth put a different spin on the premise.
“Fitzgerald’s tale is slightly different because he started out with the man as a full-size man at the age of 87,” he says. “I was more literal, where Benjamin Button is born with all the physical characteristics of a man in his 80s but is baby size. From that point on, as he grows into a teenager and we show various parts of his life, he’s aging backward.”
Roth, author of scripts for “Forrest Gump”, “The Insider”, “Ali”, “Munich” and “The Good Shepherd”, adds that he aimed to tell a story that “earned its sentiment, without being sentimental. It sounds great to get younger, but we raise the question that maybe it isn’t. Maybe, in the end, whether you age backward or forward, you have to live your life well.”
Roth was not initially confident that Pitt was the right man for the job, but now he is.
“Brad did a pretty great acting job,” he says. “It’s not one of these bravura, over-the-top performances. He’s very quiet, very simple. After one preview screening, no one mentioned Brad Pitt. It was Benjamin did this, Benjamin did that. That’s a testament to Brad, who really disappeared into the character and made it his own.”

I am very sad to read that Paul Newman died! He was amazing actor and humanitarian! Love story from Paul and his wife Joanne reminds me of the love story between Brad and Angelina! (I agree with HELEN, previous post)
Paul and Joanne met in 1953, they were friends first, and than in 1957 they worked together in the movie “The Long Hot Summer”. They knew that they were meant to be together and his first marriage to Jackie ended and shortly after Paul’s divorce in January 1958, Joanne and Paul were married (yes in January 1958)!
They were married in Las Vegas and it was real HW marriage, two big stars, she was already Academy award winner, they both were very famous and yes - everybody thought, especially tabloids that this marriage will not last forever! Rumors about break up were all the time around them, it was something normal, every week there was a story about divorce! Paul and Joanne (I think in 1969) published an add in newspaper saying that they were not getting divorced because of all the rumors about them! They have 3 children, and he has from previous marriage 2 children ( his son died from drug overdose)!

Thanks for posting that Suzy — I had forgotten hearing that Paul & Joanne put that ad in the paper because of all the rumors - and they did it in a very funny way as I remembered reading. It’s so funny Brad & Angie almost mirror what Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward had — I think that’s because, when you see people who RIGHT OFF THE BAT, KNOW that they are MEANT to be together, and do whatever it takes, take whatever hits they need to take (and BOTH Paul did, divorcing a wife with two kids in the late 50’s) and essentially say, ‘Who cares what you think?’ to the WORLD - and meet every challenge head on and every naysayer flip the bird too - and live your life and enjoy your family…you know, KNOW - that these are people who will always have their priorities straight, and who live for each other and their family, not for anything else.

When asked about infidelity later he was quoted as saying,
“Why go out for hamburger when you have steak at home”

Joanne was his “steak” as Angie is Brad’s “steak”
