Palin should step down, conservative commentator says

(CNN) – Prominent conservative columnist Kathleen Parker, an early supporter of Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin, said Friday recent interviews have shown the Alaska governor is “out of her league” and should leave the GOP presidential ticket for the good of the party.

The criticism in Parker’s Friday column is the latest in a recent string of negative assessments toward the McCain-Palin candidacy from prominent conservatives.

It was fun while it lasted,” Parker writes. “Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who is clearly out of her league.”

Palin’s interview with Couric drew criticism when the Alaska governor was unable to provide an example of when John McCain had pushed for more regulation of Wall Street during his Senate career. Palin also took heat for defending her foreign policy credentials by suggesting Russian leaders enter Alaska airspace when they come to America. Palin was also criticized last week for appearing not to know what the Bush Doctrine is during an interview with Charlie Gibson.

“If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself,” Parker also writes. “If Palin were a man, we’d all be guffawing, just as we do every time Joe Biden tickles the back of his throat with his toes. But because she’s a woman — and the first ever on a Republican presidential ticket — we are reluctant to say what is painfully true.”

Parker, who praised McCain’s “keen judgment” for picking Palin earlier this month and wrote the Alaska governor is a “perfect storm of God, Mom and apple pie,” now says Palin should step down from the ticket.

“Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves,” Parker writes. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first. Do it for your country.”

Parker’s comments follow those by prominent conservatives David Brooks, George Will, and David Frum who have all publicly questioned Palin’s readiness to be vice president.

“Sarah Palin has many virtues,” Brooks wrote in a recent column. “If you wanted someone to destroy a corrupt establishment, she’d be your woman. But the constructive act of governance is another matter. She has not been engaged in national issues, does not have a repertoire of historic patterns and, like President Bush, she seems to compensate for her lack of experience with brashness and excessive decisiveness.”

Obama’s record is pathetically thin and that’s why he doesn’t talk about it much.

He never talks about his time with Rev. Wright anymore, or his connection with Tony Rezko.

In fact he has lied to the American public about his relationship with William Ayers saying he’s just someone who lives in my neighborhood.

When in fact the relationship is much closer and deeper than that. They both are connected to the Chicago Anneberg education challenge that was basically spending money on children to indoctrinate them with left wing 60’s radicalism…..to the tune of 46 million dollars.

In other words, screw math and science they pushed angry ideology onto students. Yeah that’ll keep us competitive in the global economy Obama…..NOT!

Plus Obama never brings up his community organizing creds with ACORN, an organization rife with problems of embezzlement, voter fraud and pushing again (surprise…NOT) left wing, extremely radical agendas into urban communties.

Obama and the Democrats are trying….right now as we speak…..to funnel 20% of any profit that the government retrieves in this 700 billion bailout to ACORN…this is just despicable!!!

You can chide Sarah for silly crap like being in a beauty contests and calling her stupid.

But it will be you celebrity loving airheads……that are to blame if this man becomes president and drives more business overseas with his corporate tax hikes, and his shamelss class warfare rhetoric and his “vote for me so othe countries will like us again” mantra.

First get your facts right. She isn’t currently the mayor of Wasilla. She’s the governor of Alaska.

Second, this has been debunked. The bill to ban the rape kits practice in 2000 that came to the legislation (six times!) Wasilla was not mention once in the hearing records….not once!

You wanna know why……..because there has been no record of anyone ever being charged for a rape kit in Wasilla.

In the legislation one victim from Juneau is on record for being charged and it was Juneau.

BTW, rape kits weren’t being charged by police department (what Sarah governed) but private hospitals, which she has no jurisidiction over.

Since Russia’s invasion of Georgia was broght up, I think it’s important to note that our reactions towards Russia is the same as the Muslim’s world reaction towards us as we invaded their countries over the years. They do not see us as liberators but rather agressors.

We cannot continue to think that the world’s view of us is not important and won’t affect us. We need someone who others see as a leader of the FREE WORLD, not a just military power.

yeah i’d rather have that for my president rather then someone that’s focused only on their skin color. it’s funny hearing the obama ads saying that people shouldn’t vote based on their sex (ie, those voting for palin just because she’s a woman) yet it’s acceptable for blacks to vote for obama and also it was fine for women to vote for hillary. If we want to talk about ‘token’ tickets, how about addressing the fact that McCain picked Palin ONLY because she was a ultra conservative psycho who is a woman. The vetting process took only 2 hours and they’ve only met twice before. What a dangerous sand irresponsible decision by McCain. He is using her to sway the base and he hoped to pick up those voting for Clinton. Well, that’s not happening obviously, but there are some dumb people who will vote for a candidate because they happen to have a certain skin colour or because of their gender.
