No, she got the part because the director wanted her for it. No luck involved. The director himself even said so. People can feel sorry for whom they want and you have no right to tell them otherwise. Lured him to bed? You obviously know nothing about Heath. Okay “Heather”, I’m not going to argue with you because you do bring up a couple of good points. I’ll re-phrase - she got LUCKY when Ang Lee wanted her for the part of Alma. Does that make you happy? But he’s the director, what’s he GONNA say? And actually, it makes you wonder how many other actresses turned down the role before it even got offered to her. We know -for a fact- that nearly half of Hollywood turned down the roles of Jack and Ennis, including Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg, because they were afraid it would hurt their careers.
