Scarlett Johansson Has Weekend Wedding
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds quietly tied the knot at a top secret wedding this weekend, People reveals.
Us Weekly adds the small wedding took place at a remote wilderness resort outside Vancouver. Guests included Scarlett’s mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson.
The couple had announced their engagement in May. This is the first marriage for both.
Scarlett, 23, and Ryan, 31, have been romantically linked for about one year. Ryan called off his engagement to singer Alanis Morissette back in February 2007. Scarlett dated actor Josh Hartnett for about two years until the end of 2006.
Congratulations to the happy couple!!!

Best wishes for them!! They obviously felt that marriage was important to both of them, instead of “shacking up” like most do today. They have both been in long term relationships, so they have what it takes to be devoted to each other. Good for them…….nothing great comes of jumping in and out of relationships, just that you’re always looking for the next best thing and can NEVER commit. And zania, I got married at 22, three kids and 28 years later, am still married to the same great guy, and I would NOT change a thing!! I loved being a young mother, had lots of energy for them, understood them better as teens, and now I’m still young enough to have great times with my husband and enjoy what’s ahead!! It’s all good. But then again, I met the right guy when I was young. It’s just the way it happened for me. But I’m grateful it did when I was young!!

Im only 23 and i got married 6months ago. I would never even think of taking a different path in my life and not marrying my hubby!! I am extremely happy, and i don’t think i am too young, people i guess mature at differen’s ages. I had been in another long term relationship before and it didn’t work, but it made me realise what a good relationship should be, maybe it’s the same for these two.

i’m sure in some situations, this is the case, but i don’t think a generalization can be made…i plan on getting an advanced education, not to make a lot of money (i’ll be entering the non-profit sector and will mostly likely have quite a bit of debt) but because i find it emotionally fulfilling. and i will put off having kids because i can’t be a good mom if i’m busy studying for tests, writing papers, etc- my job will be much more flexible than school will be.
and as far as generations previously- that’s hard to say. doctors didn’t have as thorough an understanding of autism then as they do now, so it’s very tough to say if autism rates have truly gone up, OR if it’s more easily recognized and reported now (same is true for other things like depression, anxiety, etc). also, divorce in years past was considered to be socially unacceptable, and women in generations past typically only had a high school education, making it difficult to get a divorce for fear of losing respectability in the community, as well as falling below poverty level with their children. again, it’s difficult to say whether years ago people really didn’t get divorced because they had fewer marital problems, or because of social, cultural, and economic reasons.
i do think that what you’re saying is right in some cases, i just think that no one (not even what i’m saying) should make generalizations - even what i just said wasn’t true for everyone…everyone’s situation is different…

I’m pretty sure the average age for a woman to get married is 27 and a man is 29…ignoring for a moment the idea that there is no such thing as “normal”…there are a lot of people who don’t get married/pregnant at 23 , a huge example being doctors, lawyers, and PhDs…surely you don’t consider your doctor abnormal?!
