Alicia Keys & Jack White - “Another Way To Die” Music Video

Alicia Keys and the Racounteurs frontman Jack White have teamed up for the theme song of the next James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
“Another Way to Die” was written by White, who also played drums and guitar and produced the track. It also features Keys on piano. It’s the first duet in Bond history! The soundtrack for Quantum hits stores October 28th. Watch the video below!
Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig, opens in theaters everywhere on Friday, Nov. 7.

I agree with #10, the song is actually quite good.
The video however is HORRIFIC. It looks so cheap and shabby. And the way Jack and Alica move about in the video is just so dull.
Normally most bond videos have a sort of espionage theme (like duran duran on the eiffel tower playing spies, Shirly Manson as the assasin and Madonna being interrogated). Not that going against the grain is a problem for me, but if you are just do it properly. Someone needs a word with the director…
I personally think the song is a grower.
And some Quantumn of Solace clips in the video would’ve been nice since it is a Bond Song.

Love the song. Great way to freshen John Barry’s original guitar work, Jack. Love your vocal riffs, too. Alicia is awesome on the piano. They may not have the best chemistry as artists, but the song is a joining of two completely different styles. That is what makes it so hot and not just another regirgitated melody.

Wow, this song is so different for a James Bond film…I do like it very much…I think it will do good just as the movie will…and the previews look amazing anyway…can’t wait to see this film.
Okay…first in the song Icky Thump, Jack kind of raps when he says the line “you can’t be a pimp and a prostitute too”…then he and the Raconteurs release Consolers of the lonely and the entire album is so far removed from the sound that originally shot him into the hearts of many a rock and roll fan…now…

I have no problem with Alicia Keys. I think she is a talent, but I also think that Amy Winehouse, yes, even while she’s a drugged out mess, would’ve been a better choice to have been paired with Alicia.
Jack, if you ever have the chance to read or be told about this comment…remember what you did on “let’s shake hands”??

I’m not impressed with the vocals… maybe its my headphone idk… The theme song for Casino Royale was awesome… This however, I guess it’ll have to grow on me. But I was sort of hoping they’d go back to having strictly women sing the theme songs… Hope that wasn’t a sexist statement I just don’t want the Bond Franchise to do a complete 180

the end reminds me of prog-rock of the 70’s…like yes and what not. i like the violins, strange pairing. i was really looking forward to winehouse ripping it up and she said that she would be putting out her own version of the jb theme (let’s see how that plays).
overall i like jack black. i like alicia (at times she can annoy the hell out of me). but i don’t think they go great together.

It might mean girl power. I am not sure… it is french I am pretty sure of that- but i could not figure out the meaning too well.
google has a language translatation application and I tried to use it.
Jimmy, I tried to use that google translator too and it didn’t work for that phrase and yet when I do a google search it turns up everywhere, but can’t figure out what it means.
But yeah, so Daniel is back in his hometown! And I’m sure w/o the (ex) gf. I wonder if that guy who thought he saw Daniel in his Audi in London the other day wasn’t wrong. Maybe he just saw Daniel’s Audi and THOUGHT Daniel was in it? Because that paper had spotted him in Chester the night before that and now he turns up in the same area. Maybe he’s been there the whole time since dumping off the (ex) gf at the airport! LOL

First, YES I believe he has been up there this whole time this week since getting back from Kiev and the art opeining… going back home to get away from it all
I thought of something-
You know he is up in his home town, probalby staying with his mom and family.
So whirral and chester and all of those places are all in the same area, i would guess.
James, I do believe that Daniel’s going back to his home town and stopping by the local shops and seeing old friends and hanging out up there, he is trying to get back to the Old Daniel Before the Diva GOlddigger came into his life.

The gf is totally demanding and spoiled. SHE must have blown a gasket when Daniel went back up there to hang out…it is so UNGLAM for her.

YES, YES, YES JIMMY!! Everything you have said is so RIGHT ON! I was thinking the SAME thing, that Daniel is getting back to his roots and the “old” Daniel, just like you said. And no, I don’t believe the (ex) gf is with him. I really kind of think she has gone back to the states. She was all dressed up and he looked like he just rolled out of bed the day those last pictures were taken. I just get the feeling that he was taking her to the airport or somewhere where she was leaving, and leaving him free to go back to his old hometown by himself to spend time with his old friends and family. And you are so right Jimmy, you KNOW the (ex) gf would just think that was totally beneath her and so unglamorous, that would be “slumming it” in her mind. So does his mom still live in that area or is she in London? I’m just wondering because of the time people were talking about how the (ex) gf stayed with his mom after she had had some knee surgery or something? Did she stay up North or in London?

So first, we are totally on the same page here, as always!
His mother came down to where daniel was in London to take care of the gf- I think that is how it played out.
HIS family is up in whirral/chester - and he has a huge extended family bec both parents divorced and remarried.
And his mother and family is still up there-
How much do you want to make a bet that Daniel told the gf that he is going to visit his old friends and family and he either told her she can get lost….or she volunteered to do something else.
Daniel wants to re-connect and get back in touch with who he is and who he really was BEFORE the fame and the bitchy gf. get back to WHAT IS REAL for him…without the gf interference.
I highly doubt he dragged her along to go up there and play security guard.
None of the twitter postings said anything aobut seeing the gf!
James- I also feel that the trip to Kiev with all of the tight security and security guards and having to change hotel rooms multiple times…(if you check upstairs, I have been posting with other posters-nice conversation- about Daniel and his paranoia of staying in hotels and changing hotel rooms mulitple times- JAMES you will have to catch up ont hat conversation….very interesting- and read thru/skim the link provided ont he TImes article on Charles Finch…very cool article- daniel is mentioned.
I think that whole trip to Kiev and the stuff he was experiencing, i think he came home and just wanted to slum it with his old buddies and friends and get back to being who he was and still is, deep down.

Jimmy, I just caught up with upstairs. That is really weird about Daniel changing his room so many times like that! Do you think that the person who said he did the same thing in Kiev is credible? And remember that Times Online blurb we posted down here said all of those body guards were provided that Russian guy who owned the gallery and invited Daniel to the show (possibly paid for his flight there I’m thinking). Also, it didn’t say WHY he changed rooms in that article did it? I didn’t read the whole thing, but what if the diva gf was responsible? Maybe she found something wrong with every room they had? If it was him, I’d say it was definitely out of paranoia, and I’d have to agree with the person who said usually that kind of paranoia is caused by substance abuse of some sort. I find it completely believable that he and the gf could have been heavy users of cocaine at least back then if not now. I find the use of that stuff disgusting, but I know that many people who move in those circles do use it recreationally, they think they can be fine just indulging on a holiday or something, but don’t realize it can still affect their mental health.

Gee Jimmy, this is opening up a whole new can of worms. All the talk of how Daniel has turned into a real a**hole ever since he got Bond. OR maybe more like ever since he started dating the gf!! She is so skinny and pasty looking, she does not look like a healthy person to me, plus her younger age. I could TOTALLY see her being the one to get him REALLY addicted! I’m sure he was no angel before that, but look how he seems so moody, up and down. It’s classic symptoms of someone using c*ke regularly. And meth too, although that’s like poor man’s c*ke so wouldn’t think they would bother with that one. And then it was even brought up the other night how the gf always looks like she’s clinching her jaw! And I think one time a while back I even said something about noticing him sniffing several times on the red carpet of one of the awards ceremonies this year or last, something I saw on youtube; I remember someone immediately jumped on me for insinuating that he might have been using c*ke.

Jimmy, and then there’s those pictures of that concert he was at in St. Barts. He looked completely junked up in those pictures. He was definitely more than drunk on alcohol. He could have had a real “cocktail” that night by the way he was so sweaty and gross looking. Like alcohol, x, and for sure weed as he was in the islands where it is plentiful.

She is an unknown and not a target for the paps, but that does not mean her past is blemish-free. I would not be surprised if she gets him whatever he wants.Easy to believe that She is the supplier and the enabler…..
the drugs would account for his rolling mood swings, maybe depression. maybe he has been in REHAB before bec on Leno he says he stayed sober for 1 month, max, before he went back to drinking.

Jimmy, I am pretty surprised how I’ve been ostracized upstairs. And I have to tell you Jimmy, I am really convinced that one of the people posting against me up there is Freethinker/Mendel because I think they have the same style and also that they immediately knew and had a link to that article about Barbara Broccoli. I don’t won’t to ruin any friendship you have with her though, but I really feel she has turned against me. I mostly enjoy talking to you on this board, but if you don’t want to keep talking to me I will understand. Sometimes I keep thinking I want to leave the board anyway. Jimmy, I have been thinking about it a while, and I think that the person who was attacking me upstairs that I thought was Freethinker/Mendel is probably the Agree poster or whoever it is that has been reading our posts downstairs. I was going over some of the downstairs pages from the past couple of days and re-reading Mendel don’t find anything in her posts to indicate that she would turn against me like that.
SO Jimmy, I think we (you, Mendel and myself) should move to a new thread and you can tell Mendel where to go through email so there will be NO WAY for the Agree poster to find us without them going through every single thread.
