Jessica Alba channels her inner-Hannibal Lecter with a muzzled mask in the newest image in Declare Yourself’s provocative campaign to compel young people to register and vote rather than “silencing themselves.” (She also appeared in a gag and bindings in last month’s campaign.)
Declare Yourself is a youth voter initiative aimed at energizing young adults to participate in the 2008 election.
“These images, while incredibly unsettling, are extremely compelling to today’s young adults,” said Marc Morgenstern, Declare Yourself Executive Director. “With less than 40 days left until the national election, we deliberately chose vivid and startling imagery to break through and underscore the grave consequences of not voting and in effect muzzling oneself.”

yes, young voters should vote!However they should make an informed decision. Really read on who you want to lead you the next four years.
It never fails to intrique me that all the Hollywood stars speak out for the Democaratic ticket. They have no clue what real like is like. Live a day in my shoes, and you would consider both sides.
Well after the debacle with the senate passing this $700b bill (it’s a sure bet the house will pass it) when the majority of Americans are against it, there will probably be a lot of people not voting. Because the government just showed us tonight that our voice don’t matter! They work for themselves! I am so angry right now that I am like another guy who said he and his family will be voting Daffy Duck for president.
I also will definitely be voting out the Senators who voted for this rushed Bush scare tactic $700BILLION DOLLAR debt that is now added on to the TRILLIONS of Dollars he will be leaving the taxpayers come January 2009! God Help America because we have been just sold out!

This is stupidity at it’s finest. If they are trying to reach the younger crowd that clearily aren’t watching any news, reading the paper, etc. I would just rather they not vote. It’s worse to make an uninformed decision than to make one at all. HollyWood doesn’t get it, they are doing exactly what they did to Al Gore. Obama is going to blame his loss on Hollywood, as he should. I know that this specific ad doesn’t include him, but every other one has.
When is Hollywood going to get that we DON’T CARE who they support?? We are adults who can make our own decisions!!! I HATE their advertising and posturing for their candidates. MAKES ME SICK.
marty, I agree. Most young people vote Democratic, cause they don’t have a clue what it means to work hard yet. They are too idealistic and naive. They always go for the slick talking charmers. Wait til they have to work, and then have their taxes raised to the roof by some “charming” Democrat, who will give all their hard-earned money to programs that will waste the money, to illegal aliens, etc. It’s sickening. Open your eyes people. That’s not the answer either.

I registered to vote a few days ago and I went to decareyourself.com to do it, but when I saw the picture of Jessica in the tape, I refused to sign up on a website like this. These pictures are just stupid and not sending the right message. I bet she thinks so highly of herself for being so ‘patriotic’, but she just looks like an idiot. I signed up at my county recorder’s website instead.
