Vice-Presidential Debate 2008
Gov. Sarah Palin and rival Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. faced off during their first vice-presidential debate on Thursday night at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Vice presidential candidates sparred about a lot of the important issues–taxes and the economy, energy and oil, same-sex marriage, Iraq and Afghanistan.

I didnt’ watch the whole thing but “i may not answer as the moderator or politicians might like, but I speak to the American people” yada yada I would say translates “I may not know the answers that the moderator or politicians might like me to know but I will try to fool the american people by talking dribble very confidently” is probably a good indication of what’s to come when I do watch it..
Debate aside, the fact that actual parts of her interview with katy couric went into a SPOOF COMEDY video, and were the funniest bits, is really quite scary… but very funny - best bit of television I have seen for a good while. DID she every “get back to her on that one”?

if you really want to argue that people only like palin because she looks good, then you might as well add to that that i think its pathetic to use obama’s race to gain voes. this is a joke. all i could hear when Biden spoke was “Oh yeah? well…McCain is George Bush!” Ok we get it. He’s a republican. And no, he won’t just pull the troops out like a mentally challenged idiot. But that cannot be your only argument you fool. I have yet to decide if Joe Biden is Yosemite Sam or Foghorn Leghorn. High school students are calling him Joe “betyoucantmakemeshutup” Biden for godsake! He is a disaster, and when (not by my wishes by any means) Obama is elected and (again, not by my wishes) gets assassinated because of his race (sorry, its the truth. america IS that screwed up), i dont want to leave my county in the hands of that tool.

Do you even know where these two stand on women’s issues?
-McCain supports overturning Roe v Wade, so does Palin. Palin does not think you should he able to get an abortion even if you are the victim of rape or incest. You are OK with that? In fact rape victims in the town that Palin was mayor of had to pay for their own forensic rape kits.
-McCain voted against the Equal Pay for Women act-he says that women just need more education. Your candidate is calling you a dummy and you are OK with that?
-McCain voted against legislation to fund education programs to prevent teen pregnancies which would have reduced the number of abortions-
McCain voted against programs that would have required that abstinence only programs be based on medical fact. Palins daughter is a perfect example of how well that works.
-McCain voted against requiring insurance companies to cover birth control. You can bet that his insurance company covers his viagara.
-McCain voted to gut the family medical leave act which will put the burden on women who are the ones to be home with a sick child or a newborn more often then men.
-Look at McCain’s own personal life and how he treated his first wife, walking out on her after a disabling accident.
-McCain and Palin would appoint Supreme Court judges that would be in lockstep with their sexist extremist views potentially for the next 30 or 40 years.
-On the bright side-McCain does support women in combat, so when his policies involve us in another war, and we need to reinstate the draft, you can be sure that you will not be discriminated against.
Nobody who says “ya’ll” “you betcha” “doggonit” or “you’re darn right” or even winks (!) during a debate should ever be considered for second highest commander in chief of this country. Seriously. It’s an insult for my intelligence. My first grader has more manners!

I have never been a big follower of politics simply because most of the time it gives me a headache how things are runned. After watching the little bit of the VP debate… I definately had a HUGE headache.
You could see how inexperienced and uncomfortable Palin was in the beginning of the debate. Her voice was shakey and she looked as stiff as a robot. But what really irritated me the most was how she always avoided questions she couldn’t answer. And seriously, when you’re running for a position so high, who tells the medator flat out that she’s not going to answer the questions being asked!?
The things she talked about were Alaska, energy… and Alaska. Seriously….. Alaska may have appreciated being mentioned SO MANY times…. but what about the other 49 states that Palin could potentially represent?
I am proud of women rights and were its come so far. I think that if the McCain/Palin party gets elected…. it would be a shame for all women out there who have worked to get women rights were it is. Why take a step back?

He lied so much during this debate. Just liek he brought the facts, so did she. Weake up people, she is running for VP and she’s got more experience than Obama. She is the commander of the Alaskin National Guard, and they are year-round. She did a better job than Biden, his best was saying that we are getting another eight years of George Bush. That is the best Democrats have on these people have on them. We all know that! And when you actually sit down and look at Bush’s policies and John’s they have ALOT of differences. She is a Republican, she is Pro-life! Is that a shock? Because it shouldn’t be. We don’t need someone to cradle us and help us sleep at ngiht, and tell us all fictional bedtime stories. I can trust and know that John McCain will get the job done, plain and simple. Can we really say that about Obama. IF Obama gets in there, we will pull out of the war, and they will come after us on our own soil. Because this man knows nothing about war. Nothing. My brother is in the army and will tell you the same thing. They don’t speak of all the good that is going on down there. Sarah and John both have kids in Iraq, and when that happens, it becomes personal to them and they will put an end it, I’m sure. Joe Biden is an idiot, whow as laughing at this women. Sarah definitely won. Especially now, the morning after when you hear that Joe Biden made 21 irrefutable false statements. I knew the Lebanon didn’t sound correct when he said it but WOW 21 errors……I mean he’s is suppose to know this stuff inside out.
Palin showed her strengths from her resume: tax cutting, budget slashing, fight corruption & her bi-partisan reforming.
While she did get in some very effective shots at Obama, she stayed focused on fighting for the future of this country. Telling Americans that McCain/Palin believes in America’s exceptionalism.
It was a breath of fresh air after these last couple of weeks of grim financial news and Nancy Pelosi’s pathetically partisan speech on the floor of the House.
Nobody should be worried about Sarah Palin being a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Especially if a woman as stupid and a demagogue like Nancy Pelosi can be two heartbeats away. Nancy Pelosi is idiot. She’s the embodiment of what’s wrong with the government.
