OlderNicole Kidman Receives Elle Hollywood Tribute
Nicole Kidman looks green glamorous in Prada at ELLE Magazine’s 15th Annual “Women in Hollywood” Tribute held at The Four Seasons on Monday in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old Aussie actress is the November 2008 cover girl for Elle. Here are some fantastic highlights from her interview:
On becoming a mother later in life: “At 41, it’s a more painful love. I look at that little girl, and I’m, like, Oh, no, what’s going to happen? It’s almost like my heart is stretching; I’m feeling all these muscles stretch with emotion. It’s a beautiful love but there’s a lot of fear and pain for her life, and for Bella’s and Connor’s life. I like to believe that nothing was stopping Sunday from coming into the world.”
On her screen life compared to real life: “My screen life was far more exciting and beautiful than my real life. I went through this long period of being alone. I was very, very damaged, and I did not want to jump into a relationship, because I would have nothing to give, just shreds of what I was.”
Shirley MacLaine on Nicole: “She has this heavenly quality. I find her so otherworldly beautiful, otherworldly intelligent, otherworldly resilient, I call her My Alien. And only an alien could lose all that baby weight in two weeks.”
Naomi Watts on Nicole’s personality: “She’s not a wallflower, but she can be very shy. By nature she’s someone who isn’t instantly the most comfortable person in the room, but she fights that.”
Ben Chaplin (her Birthday Girl costar) on Nicole’s humor: “She likes naughty-boy humor. She’s very happy with that. I remember the director saying, ‘If Nicole’s flagging, you just need to sauce her up a bit.”

Nicole Kidman is an amazing actress so i think she deserves too much this award. i l,ike the dress, the shoes and the clutch but the hair isn’t my favorite! Love you Nic!
Mike @ 10/07/2008 at 11:36 am It reminds me of that book The Witches by Roald Dahl, where the witches at home are ugly, smelly, grey and bald, but when they go out they plaster on the makeup and put on a long sleek wig. It probably took Nicole about 10 hours to get ready.

i always respect others opinions but to nr 150 (m), please try to see Mouln Rouge, The Others, Birth, To Die For, Golden Compass, Fur, Human Stain…they are my favorite films of Nicole, there you can see all her talent
I think Jane Fonda Looks beauitful ! I am a cosmotologest and been doing it for years,I find from the photos Nicoles hair to be in pretty bad shape. Over processed , and thinning which is normal with some woman as they get older. I think she should be taking Biotin, ( dietary supplement for Hair) and colesteral treatments which works good to condition the hair. Other then That, I think she is a Beauitful Woman and a very good actress. Her bay is sooo cute I seen one photo in a mag.

Nicole looksgreat. Her hair needs to stayits naturalcolor or any variations of deper and lighter colors. She is so alabastor white, that whit eblond, bolnd washes her out. She alos , likemany fair skinned people ,Marcia Cross, Jullian Moore,looks best in light to darker golds, reds, greens, oranges, browns, purples. They dont’ good in soft ice cream colored pastels.
She looks like CRAP! Why wouldn’t she fix her hair? Her dress is so ugly. What the heck? Granny freeze is in the house!

cate blanchett played royalty, given hollywoods adoration for anything remotely regal and supremely british, is it any surprise she won an oscar? granted i think she’s a good actress but i prefer nicole more range. blanchetts either harsh or ethereal. kidmans multi faceted [and bloody stunning. i know, i know, looks arent eveything, but if i looked like that i'd be a hell of a lot more vain, she always seems so modest.]
