I am glad they are here .I am glad all of the children and the mother is well. I am glad the children donot hae any effects from being premeis of multiples like cerebal palsy, low iq, eye and hearing damage,spinal probelms, etc. The list goes on and on. they had twins . Why not count your blessings then and not take any meds to try for another. Most people do not get twins or even one. Mybe just one child. Two is a nice number. When you take meds. etc., to conceive, you run the risk of multiples. I would like to hear from the couples who hve mulitples who have special needs children due to them being multiples.

I love this show, the kids are adorable and jon and kate make it seem so easy when its clearly the most difficult task of life. Its amazing to me how much they grow over the course of the documentery. I look forward to seeing them grow thorugh out the years, hopefully if the show ends, TLC will keep in touch and let us, the viewers see how they have grown!!!!

They are exploiting their children for total monetary gain. They are this generations Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker - they have no shame. I actually a huge fan of Brad and Angelina and I love watching Jon and Kate plus 8. They are both great in my opinion.

Actually, some who claim child exploitation watch the show anyway. I once made the mistake of visiting a J & K message board on IMDB, and I noticed there were a good number of naysayers who accuse the Gosselins of child exploitation, but at the same time, those same people continue to watch the show, and it’s simply for the purpose of nitpicking, especially on Kate. It’s complete hypocrisy. I’m not a Kate fan, but spewing some crass words against a family doesn’t really help the children.

I do feel that the show should end soon (maybe within a couple of years at the most) so that the family does get some form of normalcy (whatever is normal for a family that has twins and sixtuplets). That’s just my opinion, but whatever works for the family is their decision.

Their show has got to be the best on television! I can watch re-runs multiple times and not get bored. I love Jon & Kate’s relationship and the kids are just precious. I hope they keep the cameras in their lives throughout their childhood so I can see ‘em grow up. :)

I also must say, to those of you who seem to be criticizing the family and labeling them as ’spoiled’ because they get many opportunities to visit places, etc, wow. If anything, I’m happy to see the kids get out there and experience things. Every child should go to Disneyworld, I probably wouldn’t be the same person if I never went!

I agree with #27 used to love the show but Kate should really lighten up on her kids. She is always saying she wants to create memories for her kids, oh and she is but not good ones. As long as there is interest in this family, they will continue to get their free stuff. Wait until you see the house they are having built!

Jon and Kate are great parents you can tell. They love all their kids and they complement each others personalities beautifully. Yes maddie is a bit of a brat but remember she was the youngest for a short while. And yes the parents get a lot of perks but it trickles down to the kids in the end. I love this family. I do enjoy the show. I have issues with Kate but I didnt marry her. And considering the stress involved with that many kids I try to give her the benefit of the doubt.
The theme that comes across that I see consistently is they love there kids. Time and time again. And that rocks.

I find it amazing that people criticize that they accept gifts. Like all those other families on TV with twins and sextuplets dont? Oh wait a second there are none. Let’s remember people it’s a circus that exploits children for money. You guys love that? This is the childrens reality and their LIFE, CAMERAS 3 to 4 days a week. Sad.. How can anyone be a real family when the cameras track your every move and that of your childrens. PS Angelina Jolie does not parade her children 4 days a week in front of the camera for their “family job”. She is a “trained” actress. That is her actual profession. Her children do not provide her or Brad’s lifestyle. BTW every bit of the money made off the children’s first photos went to charity. Please in the future do your research.

I thought having litters was something that animals, not people, usually did.

And to add some context to the judgment of Angelina Jolie being unwed, Brad Pitt and her have chosen to not marry until that right is granted equally and fairly to all committed couples in the United States. They have done some incredible philanthropic things with their money and fame (e.g. New Orleans rebuilding projects).

People that gawk at children on tv and LOVE the fact that they are there for your enjoyment are contributing to their future need for therapy. I DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW ANYMORE I used to read Good Housekeeping , but not anymore. I am not a supporter of any website. I am just someone who knows for a fact that they have no privacy. This needs to stop. STop enjoying watching these children work for your “fun” under hot lights 3 to 4 days a week and think that they are not being affected. That’s just sick. This just is not true.
This has nothing with being a hater of Jon and Kate, I am not. This is just fact. I could care less about anywhere they go and what they get. I care about what’s going on in the lives of those children.

I love this family. I think my fav are when they answer the fan emails cause u get answers to things specifcally like about all the wonderful trips they have gone on. Kate said she feels blessed that so many people have gifted these things because there is no way they would be able to take them all there. Please dont tell me u all wouldnt accept gifts like that. If u say no ur lying lol. But I dont miss an episode and even watch the reruns because they always crack me up and even though i have 2 and not 8 kids i feel i connect with Kate

I love their show! I also have pre-ordered Kate’s book. I was very excited for Kate when I saw the cover photo because she mentioned in an early episode of the show,that she’d never have a picture of all the kids looking at the camera and it looks like they all are in this!:D I sure hope they get a copy of the picture:)

Kate is as dumb as a box of rocks. The kids are adorable. This family is using their mutiple multiples to promote products and to provide financially for their family. Not a good plan for the kids’ mental health. I hope they don’t weasel around the guidelines and get to adopt a baby as Kate has said she wants to.

Come on people! I think everyone who “hates” this family is jealous! I have 3 kids, have never taken them on family vacations or Disney World yet. But I am surely not jealous of the Gosselin’s. I am happy to have the cameras on them and watching them take vacations and watch the kids growing up.

Kate in an amazing woman, most women could not keep up to 8 kids even with help. I know how busy I am with 3, 8 would not be managed easily. Jon takes her crap well, he is just as fun as the kids to watch……his funny faces and comments. I think they are a great couple who are making it work despite a lot of stress.

These parents should be ashamed - they’re exploiting their children for the sake of profiting from a tv show. Sure, in the beginning it was cute to see the darling babies, but the kids are growing, have no voice to speak out against what they’re living, and are forced to shoot a tv show 3-4 days a week, all day long, their parents are away almost every weekend, they are isolated from others their own age, live in a house w/studio lighting. I could go on and on.
Please look past the cute kids lined up and see the unhappy faces, tantrums, tears, etc. Go to ‘In Minor Consideration’, Paul Peterson’s (from the Donna Reed show)site to read his expert opinion.

I did watch the show but I won’t anymore. Just watched the gum episode and Kate is a hateful *****! To throw away her sons teddy bear when he is standing there crying-what a cold hearted bit*h!! Went to that site about the kids Aunt Jodie and I think everyone who watches this show(as I Used too) should check it out. It really opened my eyes to Jon and Kate! Guess it was always in the back of my mind and she was always a little crazy but I don’t like her and think the show should be taken off air-also any show having a Hogan in it!! When can 4 year olds make definitive decisions about their life. They should have parents who make those decisions for them. In case you didn’t know.

Children should be protected not exploited for goods and services. Look up the word “barter” and see if that word is verb that describes this “exchange”.

I purchase a copy of Good Housekeeping every month. NO more. The Good Housekeeping staff really messed up with this.

Where in the article does it state how unhappy the kids appear to be? How unhealthy that marriage appears? How overworked those little kids are?

There are labor laws in this country and sadly, they don’t apply to “reality” TV Shows. This group of kids are showing some serious signs of depression and anxiety, all because neither of the parents want to obtain a full time job outside of the entertainment industry.

Do some research on this family. You’ll be shocked at what you find out.

Someone needs to protect those kids. Good Housekeeping - you and the sponsors of that show let me down.

I can’t believe how negative so many people are. OMG… these children live with loving parents… they eat breakfast together, they eat dinner together…

they have camera’s around when they play and when they go places — not exactly what I’d call WORK… a trip to Chocolate World, a ride on Thomas the Train, skiing in Utah… or seeing Mickey Mouse in Disney World!!! They are NOT forced to study lines… or to “act”. They are merely observed being themselves. They go to school (their neighborhood school) and have birthday parties. Anyone who equates this to Child Labor… give me a break!!

Is there a price to be paid for being in the public eye? Absolutely. Are there lives “edited” for entertainment value? Absolutely.

I would be willing to bet that almost every one of you naysayers… put in the same position (needing to clothe and feed 8 children) would jump at the opportunity TLC has given them. Family business? What’s wrong with that? Ask any farmer whose 8 year olds gather eggs or slop the pigs (they do still do that in 2008!) or the restauranteur whose children hang out in the restaurant every day after school (maybe not helping… but “stuck” at the restaurant.

Are there sacrifices this family is making by making the choice to have TLC (and all of us) in their lives? Yes… sure are! But as parents we have the right to make the decisions on how are children are raised. These children are NOT abused. Yes, their privacy is compromised (and as the children age — I hope TLC recognizes their need for privacy).

As for the Good Housekeeping photo shoot… We did a picture with 8 children once (under 10 years old… all my mom’s grandchildren). Our experience was IDENTICAL to the Gosselins. It wasn’t punitive … it was just the way it was. Kids are impatient. Kids have short attention spands. Get over it.

Those of you with 2 or 3 or even 4 children don’t have clue. You can afford to be high and mighty with your attacks — but they only show your ignorance (lack of information/understanding). If we put you in their position you wouldn’t last 24 hours.

No, they didn’t plan for 6… they planned for 1 or 2 (which is the NORM for IVF)… and when it turned out that 6 took… they refused to abort. Maybe you would have made a different choice there, too. More power to them for choosing LIFE for their children.

For those of you who continue to cry Exploitation… but continue to watch the show…. I can only say how hypocritical of you. They had an unexpected turn in their lives… and have chosen a way of supporting them that allows them to be well fed, well clothed, well LOVED by family, friends and the production staff, too. I must be honest and say that… were I to have found myself in the same situation… I probably would have done the same thing.

Those of you that are Gosselin haters… please take your rants elsewhere — because when the children are old enough to surf the web… and they find your hate messages… those are the messages that will destroy them. The psychological damage they will experience reading the horrid things you are saying will have a PROFOUND effect on the children.

It will not be the result of the production crew in their home a few days each month… So if you truly care for the children… you will stop. If you continue… you will merely be putting a voice to your selfish jealousy.

If Kate wants a normal life, she shouldn’t be promoting her show/life as much as she is. Why does she want us to watch her show if she doesn’t want us to feel that connection with her family. If I saw the kids in public, I would want to approach them too. Kate wants the $$$$ and freebies, but still wants her privacy. She can’t have both!!! Jon deserves a medal for putting up with all of Kate’s mean obnoxious comments. It’s no wonder Kate’s parents want nothing to do with her family and are not a part of their lives…how sad! Kate probably told them off one day and still can’t forgive her.

They want for nothing, in the words of kate “The show is our life and the life is our show” The go to church’s and now only mega churches, expect them to pick up the bill and offer them lots of freebies and if it’s not enough, they cancell. They tell everyone they are soo poor and don’t have enough money for Christmas presents for all to stretch and so on and so forth but they do..they make nearly 80K at last count per episode and already over 70 episodes have been shot. YOU Do the math!! This poor us, we are struggeling to make ends meat i a lie. They live better than just about anyone, want for nothing and take church love offerings as petty cash??!!

would I pass up the oppertunity for freebies or a show..probably not? Would I sit there and tell a blatent LIE knowing I had millions in my bank account, make 80k per episode, get free clothing every month, have a chef, and two personal assistants and go to church’s begging for money and always commenting on HOW HARD it is to cook and say I do all the cooking and cleaning and all this crap..NO!! I, for one, am a big fan of the show. I may not know everything about them, but I am appalled that so many posters would write such awful things about this family. Put yourself in their shoes and look at it from their point of view. How would your family like being on tv and then, having people post bad things about you and your family just because they assume it’s “exploitation”? If that wouldn’t bother you, you really have a problem. I agree with Kathryn’s comment and those that stick up for Jon & Kate Plus 8. And, those that disagree with us, I don’t care what you call me. I stand by my comment, regardless, and nothing will change my mind. So, there!

There are 2 covers for the November 2008 Good Housekeeping issue…Gosselins are only on 1 due to complaints against them. I cannot find the issue with them on the cover and I was looking forward to getting that issue :( Boo on Good Housekeeping!!!

I love all of the Gosselin kids. They’re all wonderful, and Kate and Jon take very good care of them.

May the good Lord always bless them. We are so blessed to watch a normal Christian family, and for the Gosselins to share it. We all love them! Our prayers too for Jon & Kate in their marriage and the stress we all have in raising families.

The Gosselin family is a mess, seriously and the kids will ultimately pay for Kate’s money hunger.
Jon is basically a good Father, but he is so smothered by Kate’s sick control, that he seems unable to be the man and father he should be.
I have never seen a more neurotic, controlling, woman as Kate is. I see the repercussions of her unrealistic control beginning to make her kids as sick as she is, Mady is showing signs of insecurity, aggression and emotionally messed up, her daily tantrums are getting really bad.
Kate has been mean to Joel ………ie……..putting him on the cold laundry room floor when he was very sick because he might throw up on her precious carpet.
I refuse to watch the Gosselin side show anymore and wish it would be taken off the air.

and about kate…..
she’s not mean. she has to be strict in some areas because theres no other way with eight kids. she absolutely is not mean to joel. he was put in the laundry room because she cant afford having eight kids pukeing all over the carpet. and it was a quiet place away from the rest of the house. and its not like she stuckk him on the “cold floor” there was a warm comforter. so get over yourself. youd do the same.

i think it’s horrible that there are people on here with such negative things to say about little kids. my 5 year old daughter LOVES the show but i could take it or leave it. kate can get on my nerves at times with her controlling ways. but with 8 kids, who knows, we all might be a little like that. i agree that sometime soon they should give the show up for the sake of their kids. it might be a little embarrassing for them to have to go to school and know that all the other kids know about every single aspect of their lives. i don’t always agree with some of the things on the show but who am i to judge? she may not agree with some of the ways i deal with things in my household . i think for anyone to come on here and have such anger towards this family needs to get a life. a couple people have made comments about researching jon and kate and finding out the “truth”. of course there are going to be some things on the show that are false. if you think there are any shows on tv ,reality or not, that aren’t somewhat fake then you are a fool.

I THINK THE KIDS ARE CUTE

To Jessica and others who think it is normal to put sick kids on a floor in the laundry room…please do not think that good parents do this. Good parents put sick children on beds or sofas, using mattress pads, old plastic table cloths, towels or garbage bags under the sheets to protect mattresses or cushions. They have them within earshot to make sure they’re not crying out or choking on their own vomit. A sick child needs to be nursed, loved and parented, not scolded for getting vomit on a comforter. A nurse in the pediatric ward doesn’t put children on the floor because they might vomit or bleed or the sheets, does s/he? Of course not. The only time a child should have to sleep on the floor…sick or healthy…is if you are poor and don’t have beds. That Kate did that is beyond shocking! She could have put an old crib mattress on the kitchen floor so she could actually keep an eye on him and give him a sympathetic pat or smile or sip of water, but she chose to banish him to a dark laundry room, laying on a hard floor with only a blanket between him and cold tile. It reminded me of a prisoner of war, for crying out loud!
