Suri Cruise Plugs Her Ears
Katie Holmes leaves her New York City apartment on Tuesday afternoon.
The 29-year-old actress was seen carrying 2-year-old Suri, who plugged her ears and kept her eyes shut. Suri surely doesn’t like all the attention the paparazzi are giving to her!
Katie is set to appear as attorney Grace, whose mysterious fate leads her to Eli on the Oct. 21 episode of Eli Stone. (Click here for steamy preview pics of Katie.) The series returns with new episodes this upcoming Tuesday, October 14th on ABC.

At least cover the childs head to shield her from the cameras, or better yet , stop using her for media attention!
With every new photo of Suri I feel more and more sorry for this kid. All the expensive toys in the world don’t make up for the way Tom and Katie pimp this child for the cameras.
What really makes me sick is that Katie and Tom (in other photos) don’t even seem aware that Suri is upset and hiding from the attention. They’re too busy getting a good photo of themselves.

They keep her out late at night like she is an adult, then she is sleepy and tired in the day.
She is always on parade like a little doll.
Tom is not working, he could take her out to playgrounds and such, then cover her up and take her to the theatre to see mom.
Yes the paps are always there, but this child is seen day and night and is increasingly unhappy.
Maybe they need to keep her in at night more and maybe then Suri would deal with the daytime paps better.

Maybe Suri would benefit from being in a playgroup, or a few days a week in preschool with other children her age.
I agree that they shouldn’t take her out at night too much. I don’t necessarily think it’s a big deal if she goes to bed later than most kids as long as she is allowed to sleap in. However, the paps are much worse at night, because of the flashes so she should stay home.

Katie Holmes is not the only A-lister in town, but she is the one photographed with her daughter Suri most of the time, and the poor child is terrified. Yes, maybe she should keep the child with someone else (the nanny, the father, the grandparents), if it guarantees that Suri would be pap-free. I mean, isn’t the child’s safety and well-being of the utmost importance, even more than Mommy and me time?
#18, She had time to flash the paps a smile, so she’s not in a terrible hurry, no. If she were in a hurry to get to the car, she would look straight ahead.
She shops everyday so that she’ll be photographed by the paparazzi. This is deliberate. She probably thought Suri would be as enamored by the paps cameras as she is., but the fact that she’s not isn’t going stop Katie from getting her camera time.

I know a lot of people with small children and I’ve never ever seen a 2 1/2 year old carried around in a blanket. Suri doesn’t have to learn to behave like other kids since she’ll be schooled by Tom’s sister, but she won’t learn how to socialize either.

As long as she is actually with the other children. I heard Katie enrolled Suri in a toddler’s gym, but instead of putting Suri in the group, Katie arranged for her to have private lessons. This poor child doesn’t have a clue as to how to interact with other children her age.

Ok This time…. and I mean its every day!! Not a day gos by that you dont show them. At least she is covering herand holding her. But clearly , Suri wants to be a Regular Kid.!!
Katie does not have a single ounce of compassion for HER OWN CHILD. If she did, she would find a way to shield her from the constant barrage of photographers that scare poor little Suri. There are plenty of celebrities - pretty much all of them EXCEPT TomKat - who manage to live their lives and go about their days without the paps intruding in their child’s every day activities. Brad and Angelina are arguably the most famous and photographed couple in the world, yet we don’t see DAILY pics of their brood. They get papped a lot, sure, but not every single day. When we do see the Jolie-Pitt kids, they look normal. They’re not screaming and crying and obviously distressed by the photogs.
I know people get all nutty when someone compares TomKat to other celebrities, so let me just say that I only bring up B&A as a baseline for comparison. Pictures of their kids are more valuable than pics of Suri by leaps and bounds, yet they manage to take their kids out to toy stores, restaurants, etc without causing a circus and damaging the kids. And that is exactly what Katie is doing by trotting Suri out for the cameras EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. She is damaging her, or rather she is condoning the damaging presence of the paparazzi.
If you had a 2 or 3 year old who was terrified of, say, barking dogs, and on your daily walk to the preschool you had the choice to either walk past a row of houses who each had loud, vicious, barking dogs, or to go slightly out of your way and walk down a quiet, dog-free street, which would you choose? Would you choose to subject your child over and over again to the one thing she fears the most? Or would you make a slight adjustment in your routine to keep her feeling safe and happy?
With TomKat’s money and access to security, it would not be at all difficult to protect Suri from this madness. They are going to have an emotionally stunted and scarred young woman on their hands in a few years, but I guess that’s okay when you’ve got the “tech” to fix everything. They won’t ever have to take responsibility for Suri’s future problems; they can just blame it all on the Thetans.
Katie is very selfish. Can she not see her daughter is very tramatized by all the cameras and paps yelling and screaming? Everyone knows she is a joke. Now she will be known as a very bad parent.

Is it possible that Suri acts this way when the paps aren’t around?

I wouldn’t think so but maybe her trauma and terror manifests itself before she even gets outdoors in front of the cameras? Remember the movie Sybil where Sally Field played the character that had 30 something personalities?

Of course they can’t completely avoid the papparazzi but they should find a way to protect their daughter. For example, she could wear sunglasses and a hat that covers her hair and part of her face. They could wrap her up in a blanket.
my son has autism and the scared little girl in all these pics remind me of him when he was that age. she is a beautiful child, but suri always has her eyes or ears covered, she never interacts with any kids (and actually looks scared) when she is even at a playground or around others. even pics of her with her parents you never see her laughing, talking, or interacting. she also clearly hates to wear shoes (many pics she does not have them on) and seems to not like clothes that are binding. i find all the similarities interesting. who knows, she may be completely different in private, but the more pics i see the more similarities i see.

Expensive apartments in NYC have private garages, there is never a reason to walk out the front door to enter a vehicle.
