OlderAngelina Jolie Breastfeeding — W Magazine Preview
And here it is! Angelina Jolie is seen breastfeeding one of her twins (Knox or Vivienne) on the November 2008 cover of W Magazine, as photographed by longtime partner Brad Pitt.
The mother-of-six was photographed in mid-August in the backyard of their French Chateau. All of the kids — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox — are said to appear in the spread, which hits stands on Oct. 21.
There’s also a new interview with Angie and director Clint Eastwood talking about their new movie, The Changeling, at MTV.com.
Parade also has a great interview where Angie talks about her ex-husbands: “I have two divorces behind me but I’m still good friends with both my exes, Billy Bob [Thorton] and Jonny Lee [Miller]. I’ve never had to deal with secrets from the men in my life because I’ve always married artists and they’re a very talkative and expressive bunch. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Angie also talks about the twins to the German edition of Vanity Fair: “They’re totally sweet. They already have completely different personalities. Knox is more the quiet one, very relaxed, while Viv is a little more aggressive and loud. It’s funny. Knox looks more like Brad and Viv more like me.”

those of you who are saying this the most beautiful magazine cover ever and are “oohing and aahing”….don’t you think you’re stretching a bit much? Shes breastfeeding, which is something women do all around the world daily, heck; every second. Just because it’s this particular woman doesn’t make it anymore adorable or special. Please, cut it out.
What an awesome photo. As a professional photographer I have to say that Brad captured the very essence of peace and happiness. As an Angie fan, Im so happy we are allowed to see the joy she has in that moment. One photo can conquer every tabloid rumor. What a sweet photo it is.
I love the picture. It is not an overt picture of breastfeeding, it is a beautiful picture of a mother while she happened to be breastfeeding. You can see the tiredness in her face, and yet she doesn’t look haggard. The only clue that she is or was nursing a baby are the little hands you can see.
Nothing is more beautiful, nothing more tiring, nothing more rewarding, and nothing so completely maternal. I love that Brad took the picture. That is why she looks so vulnerable.

I’m glad A.J & fam are happy healthy and doing well. Of course, it goes without saying that she looks beautiful. Even more so, thru B.P’s lens. Brings a whole new meaning to the old saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” His perspective seems to increase her loveliness exponentially (if it’s possible for her to be even lovelier!)

what is she talking about? The two covers are about as far away from each other in concept as you can get. Halle was the cover for a va va va voom sexpot issue. Angelina is the maternal young mom cover. The two are as different as night and day. One is a mens magazine and the other a women’s high fashion & society magazine. Please lainey, stop your BS!!!!

regarding this post. really it’s good to see that you’re missing the point. you obviously didn’t read lainey’s entry about smut and the economy and how in these dire times only reporting truth/lies about certain celebrities will actually end up saving some of the celeb weeklies/life and style weeklies that people read. there’s a forbes article that is very recent, a couple if you go on forbes and check out their entertainment section about celebs and the tabloid/entertainment magazines industry and it talkes about celebs that get the most magz sold and puts them in a top 10 ranking. then there are the celebs that get talked about all the time but people won’t bother to purchase anything about them. anyways it was good reading and lainey’s point is that even with the w mag coming out later than the esquire (they endorsed obamarama!!!!) mag, that it will still outsell the sexiest woman in the world edition. i love halle, and the pics are hot & disconcerting, but imagine if esquire had named aj hottest woman, lol, those magazines would sell and bring the company lots of money in these economic volatile times.
She was a gorgeous woman and now she is so beautiful as a dedicated mother. You can see the glow of motherhood on her face. As for those who are angered by “breastfeeding pics”, where is their sense of morality when hundreds of magazines publish women in less than respectful apparel on their cover? and in such suggestive postions that you wonder whether they are about entertainment or pelvic medicine!!!

I read in a forum that Angelina was taking a natural product ( called something like Sacred tea for nursing mothers or something like that) to increase her breast milk supply, since she had twins. Has any one hear about this product? is this true? I’m a mother having difficulties with my milk supply and doing some search I found that out. Is this true? Is there any “natural” product to increase breast milk supply? if any one knows please contact me as I’m desperated!

My take on the Angie’s breastfeeding W magazine cover is she wants to use her celebrity status to convey the message that breast milk is still best for babies. Considering the milk scare nowadays due to the melamine content or contamination in most countries, her promoting breastfeeding, is very timely. She also wants to share her experience in the beauty of motherhood in nursing her baby. Love…. Connection…. Tenderness…. Serenity…. Happiness….That it is alright to sacrifice for your baby and still put a smile on your face even if you look tired. Angie is tired but in a very good way. That’s what a mother is…that’s what she wants us to know in a visual way. in spite of her celebrity status and sexy image, she is saying she’s just like any other women who rather prefer to give her children their needs the natural way as much as she can. And what a joy the experience gives her.
Of course, it is expected that this breastfeeding cover would generate mixed reactions, both positive and negative. Obviously, I am on the positive side. When I look at it, I didn’t not find anything wrong with it. I see what we can gain from fit. In fact, Brad was very subtle in capturing that beautiful moment. He saw to it that his family is still protected by ensuring that the pose is not gross or vulgar at all. It was certainly done in a very tasteful manner. I can’t imagine how anyone can think of it as disgusting when most magazines do lewd covers. Very hypocritical. I wonder, some people react this way because the one on the cover is Angelina Jolie, when in fact, her W cover is not lewd at all !!! As I have said before, everything she does is being nitpicked, no matter how good her intention is. Some people will always find fault everything about her. That’s their mission in life. And I am sad for them. By the way, how do they react when they see posters in the hospitals or any medical institutions are showing pictures & promoting breast feeding?? Are their sensibilities were offended, too??? Of course not for the simple reason that it’s not Angelina Jolie who is posing. If every time you look at Angie with a dirty mind, it’s not her problem anymore. Maybe she can’t really contain her hotness, is that it?? People, grow up, breastfeeding is a natural activity between a mother & her baby, whether it is done publicly or not. It’s up to you how to do it in a subtle way.
I think the reason why they decide to do this cover is that they want to show the world that they can be also in control of what comes out in the publication. They want to counteract the fabricated things which the tabloids are constantly selling in their magazines at the expense of this admirable couple. The couple deemed it wise to balance the false stories about them by coming up with a very noble idea, that is by promoting breastfeeding and at the same time the love in the JPs family. And I laud them for that.

Oldie, No I would not have! I believe shots of women in such provocative, insulting, and/or private moments are degrading and disrespectful to women. Also, I don’t know why you bring up Aniston — I have never bought a magazine with her, Jolie, or Pitt on the cover, so I don’t see how she is plausible in this discussion. I enjoy most of all three of their movies. I’m just tired of women being subjected to being objects, buds of jokes, and belittlements. I mean for a example: when a man gets a promotion he is a qualified, hard worker, however, when a woman gets a promotion she is an unqualified ***** sleeping her way up to the top. If your Indian culture doesn’t like to see a mother breast-feeding their child then it is your culture that needs to be upgraded to the 21st century. We are not living in 1925 era. I’m sure young teens in your country have sex before marriage or is that done in dark alleys. Isn’t India where first cousins marry, that is sick. How can that be right. and decent.
