look, i’m not completely anti-Katie, and it’s not completely atrocious, but you have to be REALLY under-exposed to what talent really is if you’re raving about this . . . you have to be so underexposed to life, talent, love, lucid thoughts, basically anything valuable to register this as half-way decent. Plus this is a PRODUCTION, i.e. literally hundreds of people and $$$$ bending over backwards to make her look good and she still looks and sounds . . . like that.

Of COURSE she is lip syncing, but that in no way means it’s not her voice. They lay a voice track over her performance, thats how it works in all musicals unless it’s sung live.

For all of you who are ragging on Katie’s singing chops - I’m guessing you listen to Brittney Spears or Rhianna or other such garbage and think it is just wonderfully inspired music. I’ll bet you a million bucks none of you knew who wrote this song. No, it wasn’t fifty cents or p-diddy or pink of avril lavigne. It was DUKE ELLINGTON. Ever heard of him - probably not. She knocked this thing out of the ballpark! Her subtle vibrato and classy pitch bends were excellent. Her intonation was perfect and didn’t need to rely on all that warbly crap that “singers” (these ******* self-proclaimed “artists”) use to hide the fact that they can’t stay on pitch.
She’s no Rene Zellweger…even though shes trying to be.
I’m not too keen on Katie’s voice - not to mention appearance in this video.
But she’s a lot better than she was…
