Little Suri Cruise closes her eyes really tightly and digs her face into her blanket as mom Katie Holmes carries her out of their New York City apartment and into their waiting SUV on Thursday afternoon.
“Katie loves New York and considers it ‘her cit’,” a source tells Now. “Despite [husband Tom Cruise]’s firm belief that they should be in LA as that’s where the movie industry is, Katie’s enjoyed being with the grittier, more down-to-earth young actors she’s met in New York.It’s even transforming the way she dresses – she’s beginning to unveil more fashionable outfits whenever she’s out on her own. Compared to New York, she finds LA fake and unpleasant.”

#50 The kid is strange as hell to look at. She is autistic! Katie is not a fshion icon. The kid is wierd looking. Nothing special about her except the special needs she will need to get from doctors.

What I said was underground garages… you know… the kind of garage that is under a building. That people who live and work in the building have access to. I also said the back exit…. the exit (door, entryway, opening) that is in the back of a building, not the front of the building.

ae @ 10/09/2008 at 3:54 pm This kid has real issues. It’s not the paps fault. They’re doing their job. It’s the parents fault for not parenting and protecting her. She exhibits sign of autism. No other celb children does what Suri does. Cover her ears and closes her eyes to that extent. As a mtter of fact I have not seen any other celeb child do this. Katie and Tom are not good parents for subjecting their child to this .

I don’t think Suri Cruise is autistic as much as she is just plain shy. I’m a shy person and I know that my first instinct if faced with a phalanx of paparazzi would be to hide. She may also be exhibiting the anxiety her mother is feeling in these situations but has become disciplined at hiding. I think a lot of people would feel overwhelmed and anxious in a similar situation. Is there not a more private exit they could be using? Maybe the few minutes of the child’s discomfort is not worth the aggravation.

#7, I agree with you!!! It is not fair to the poor little girl. The paps are always following them, and Katie & Tom know that, so they should protect her!!!
I thought that Suri had a silent birth? Then why do they subject her to all of the mass confusion? She still is a baby.
saying a child is autistic is not any more cruel than saying a child has brown hair.
it’s awful what her parents are doing with her.
She’s just acting like a child her age will.
A source has confirmed that Suri see’s a occupational therapist 4 times a week.
I don’t know if that means she has Autism, but even if she does, I’m sure her mom will get her the help she needs.
As for my opinion on this whole situation with the rumors about her having Autism… I believe she could, but I also feel you can’t know for sure by just looking at pictures. I do realize in most of her pictures she does show some characteristics that an Autistic child would show, but I also want to state that even an Autistic child smiles & laughs, so you can’t really base it on that.
I do think she could have sensory issuse, she is seen covering her ears a lot… but that could also be the loudness of all the people excited to see her…
But with that said, this child should be use to all this… so being shy & so on really wouldn’t make sense, but I could be wrong…. I have worked with Autistics children & have an Autistic child myself…
I also seen that video of Suri & Katie at the park, it was only 5 minutes, but you can see Suri hand flapping & even muffled her ears a lot & didn’t respond when Katie called her & the child just showed some huge red flags…
I would study Autism, hang around a child with Autism & then watch any videos of Suri that you can find, not just still pictures & then you be the judge.
