OlderZac Efron Wants To Pick Johnny Depp’s Brain
Check out this new hot photo shoot of Zac Efron from the new issue of EW. (The cover was revealed yesterday.) Here are some highlights from the interview:
On plotting his escape from the teen scene by transitioning from poster boy to Oscar contender: “I would love to just sit down and talk with Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp and pick their brains about their early careers. They do it because they love it, not because they enjoy being famous. You have to have good foresight and be really careful. If you don’t adapt and learn at a very young age, you can really mess up.”
On if he’s seen High School Musical 3: Senior Year: “I hope it’s better than the last one. (panics) I didn’t mean that the way it sounded!”
On getting paid to sing, dance and kiss his real-life girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens on the big screen: “After three movies together, Vanessa and I feel free to do whatever we want, and we’re just kind of silly and uninhibited. It felt like the best working vacation I’ve ever taken.”

And for those of you criticizing him for how he looked unhappy in the last pictures with Vanessa . . . it’s good to know the whole story before you jump to conclusions that every disgruntled look from them mean “dem broked up”.

#21 he has more talent than you could ever hope to have! So what if he got his break in HSM, it’s a huge world wide phenomenon! He has a great mind and knows what he wants, he’s not stupid and he is going to prove that in time. Even Johnny has done some weird movies in the past but he can do no wrong now, same with Leo! Zac has his own talent and he is going to go far with it, a whole bunch of people and directors have said how good he is, he is going to be amazing!

Have to say that i one of the most relaxed interviews that Zac has done and he looked like he had a blast doing the photo shoot, it was lovely to see his smile and even though I’m not a teenager I can appreciate hotness when I see it and just have to say that these recent photo’s from the shoot are georgous of him especially like the one that Jared posted and the one of Zac getting out of the pool.
I’m sure that if he keeps his thinking the way he does now he’ll be fine.
I bet he was scared with that bloke as much for himself as Vanessa, fans like that can be really scary and it’s quiet understandable why Zac would look unhappy, but it was nice to know that he and Vanessa still managed to finish off the night on a lighter note.
I just hope it does’nt put him off coming back to the UK, but I have to admit that kind of thing can turn nasty and as said unfortunetly one of the darker sides of being famous you never know who is hanging about and what they will do, it’s also no wonder Vanessa does’nt like being crowded she has good reason to, if you don’t like a celebraty that’s fine but to try and grab them and shout at them is totally uncalled for.
Hey Malia, thanks for that daily mail post. It was great to see that video and pics of Zac. I think he has a long career ahead of him. It seems like one of those actors from the 40’s era…very dapper, calm and cool. I can’t wait to see him on Kelly and Regis on the 22nd. Wow Helena and Regina, its amazing how you always say the same thing. He is talented, so much so infact that he, and his co-stars, have led HSM to become a global phenomenon. I could sit here all day and name you a lot of people from Disney who have had amazing careers, and yes Johnny Depp is one as Pirates is a huge movie. You may not believe in Zac, but a lot of people see his potential, you can’t say where he will be in 5 or 10 years, no one knows that of their own lives, let alone someone elses. I heard he wants to go to USC, so perhaps he will take a break from acting and come back to it, but it will be on his terms and it will be his choice.
Plus, there is no denying that he has good looks, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t talented, because he is, and he will prove it to people in time, as it is understandable that people such as you two, have not seen what he can do in other films such as Miracle Run, and MAOW.
I for one don’t want him to have a career like Depp’s or Leo, I want him to make his own choices and carve his own path. If he emulates them, which he does as comparisons can be made, then that is truly great, but Zac is his own person, he is sensible and just a normal guy, and this interview shows that. I personally think he is amazing, and I’m sure a lot of other people see that too, the guy beyond the looks, his depth of character.

Well, it’s obvious you DID NOT read the EW interview and see the great things Richard Linklater and others in the business said about Zac.
It pays to read, dear, you end up sounding like you know what you’re talking about.
He’s TALENTED and HOT!!!!!!!
So now doing a Disney movie automatically means you’re a bad actor? That’s soo stupid..you know,I met a few people who really didn’t like Zac but still they said he was a good actor..and he actually is..And musicals in general are not children movies..Zac had the pleasure to work with John Travolta,Michelle Pfeiffer and Christopher Walken..great actors..doing musicals..so is it really that childish? I don’t think so. Zac’s on the right road,he’s intelligent and he knows what he has to do to get out of the Troy Bolton etiquette and put himself out there for new intruguing roles. He really knows that and it’s up to him to find his way through Hollywood..he has a real talent so I wish him the best and I have faith in him and as long as he has support and love (especially from Vanessa) then he’s gonna be fine.

I never said you did, but you were qucik to jump on that. You obviously do your research into Zac to be able to pick that quote out so quickly… so what if Variety said that, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t good, he’s learning and doing well plus, there were plenty other people who thought Zac was good in it, including his Director, so one persons opinion means nothing really on the whole it was a positive role for him.
Hey No.36…Leo DiCaprio did Soap Operas and some Disney stuff when he was younger…and he did some homoerotic movies as well…Titanic catipulted his career in the eyes of the masses….and thus he became a commercial genius.
Johnny Depp was in a television series, also he did some John Waters films…i.e. Cry Baby…and he’s just now coming into his own world of creating the roles he likes…after all, he owns an island, and he has production rights to some movies…so, I think Zac will have a long career full of great opportunity and some challenges, but, he’s a level headed person and can maneuver his career in the right direction along with the aid of his publicist and managers.

I see only a positive review for Zac.
At the end of the day critics are people who have opinions, ones which differ to others, its up to individuals to make their own minds up. Zac has a good head and he will make the choices that are right for him, sans everyone else, he is a good guy and deserves to be recognized for that.
Zac Efron is very talented! There, someone said it. But I have seen his work. However, those who haven’t watched him in his movies or TV show an only go on what they see in pictures and for those and even us who have seen his talent on screen would say when first viewing this cover and the inside pictures HE’S HOT! Really, he is one good looking young man.
A big THANK YOU to suzy for that video of Zac doing this magazine shoot. It was absolutely wonderful and guess what, he looked HOT! LOL Love his hair in these pics. It’s kind of what we are used to but yet more mature and off his face so we can see just how handsome he is.

What a facade! Not interested in fame? If he was in it for the love of being an actor, I very much doubt that he would go to the extent of wearing make up, or starring in photoshoots putting on such superficial facial expressions and body language. In almost every interview that I have seen of zac efron, even from before he was in high school musical, he has had an air of arrogance, and certainly appeared that the only reason why he was in this industry was because he wanted fame and fortune, not anything to do with a love of acting. He is such a superficial person.
He is constantly dropping names, “leonardo, blah blah blah”, in the hopes of establishing some relationship with them, so that he can just further his career. He is such a sociopath. He is annoying. If he loved it so much, he wouldnt have to go on again and again about how he wants to be a real and credible actor, and go on about his acting skills and wanting to ‘learn’ the skills of the trade. If he loved it so much, everything would be implied and implicit, and he would not even mention it, because simply being there would be enough, something which does not exist.
From what I see, he is a cashed up brat, who has no real intention of becoming an actor for the ‘love’ of it, but more for the money, fans, attention, and people screaming his name. It wont be too long before he fades away into the distance, like all other teen heartthrobs. He doesnt even understand his fan base. All of his fans are teenage girls, below the age of 17. People outside of that demographic have no interest in him, once he grows old he can expect a total reality check, and realise that the hype that surrounded him was actually a manifestation of obsessed tweens who will have moved onto the next person. Remember jesse mcartney? Exactly, - he was the next big thing, until some new thing came in, and now he is just a nobody with a failing music career. It wont be too long before some other child star will usurp his role, and he wont have any more movie roles.
Why does he want to pick Johnny’s brain? Does he not have one of his own??
He has never been and will never be the same calibur actor as Johnny is. Johnny would lose brain cells just talking to this pretty boy.
Despite his gayness, I think Zac has a long career ahead of him. Vanessa won’t be as lucky and will fade into obscurity once the HSM franchise has run it’s course.
