OlderAngelina Jolie Backs Barack Obama?
Angelina Jolie opens up to the German edition of Vanity Fair about everything from politics to her newborn twins. Here are some choice quotes via Us Weekly:
On why she could be voting for Barack Obama: “Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay. They are things which could move me to vote for him, not his roots. Of course, an American president like Barack Obama would be great for my family but would not be a reason to vote for someone.” (On Monday, Brad carried a notebook with a Obama sticker on it.)
On why she’s proud of the USA: “I am very proud of being American, and all my children have got American passports. For me, our family is just what America is - a melting pot, a mixture of many different races and nations. My children should be proud of their Asian and African roots, but that in no way means [is] a lack of respect for the fact that they and their parents are Americans.”
On her twins Knox and Vivienne (3-months-old on Sunday): “It’s a damned arduous business, and we are often simply whacked out because it is twice as hard with two babies as with one. But it also makes for double the fun. After we flew back from Europe, we were all suffering a bit from jetlag. We were all in bed early, but at half past four, they were awake and making a real racket… Brad took care of them. He said to me, ‘Go back to sleep, you’re back to work in the morning,’ and moved into the kids’ room with them. He is an astounding father, full of devotion… [Knox and Vivienne] have quite similar, stable rhythms. Every three hours they get hungry, then I have to satisfy them. But that’s OK, the two of them are totally sweet. When you see them, you think they were made for each other. They laugh together, they sniff each other, touch each other. It is beautiful.”
On struggling to find alone time with Brad: “Sometimes, at the end of the day, we try to retire to the bathroom to be undisturbed,” she says. “But then [the kids] hear the water running and want to come in and, yet again, we are all together. But that doesn’t disturb us because they are great kids.”
On how fame has changed motherhood for her: “I would like to have more freedom, especially to have the chance to be more spontaneous with my kids. Would I like to be able to walk through the streets with my kids? Of course. Would I like to be able to wander around Manhattan and buy them an ice cream like other mothers? Of course. But it is not possible. On the other hand, every morning I wake up with the people who are the most dear to me in the whole world. That’s why I don’t feel isolated from that, which is important to me. It helps, of course, that Brad knows all about it, but he’s experienced it even more than me. We often talk about it and try to make the best of things. But I am very grateful for our life and everything that we have.”

Chelsea Lately was just talking about the “W” pics and talked about how beautiful Angie is and that how can anyone not want to have Brad Pitt’s baby in reference to what Angie said in the article about why she decided to have Brad’s baby. She also said that the article says that Angie is helping Maddox collect antique daggers. Chelsea then said that this might not be good, just think about it, Maddox was the only child for a while and all of a sudden you have 5 other siblings! He might get pissed off one day. I may not have said the exact words that she said but close. It was really not too bad.

She also said that is one time that Brad and Angie are not pimping off their children, for they were not paid any money for the photos. They were done free. On “E” they showed a really cute pic of “Z” in heels with mom.

Jill, I did see that I have been on the other politioco blogs discussing it. But they said she didn’t commit any crime under the law but abused her power.

The most interesting fact about this Alaska probe is that it started before the vp selection and a bipartisan group consisting of more republicans than democrat led the way for the investigation. The final decission was determined by a panel of 12 republicans and 4 democrats. Now I wonder why? Jill is right to question the vetting process and the most dissappointing factor in all this is that there are so many qualified republican women the he could have chosen.
Is it true that there will be one picture of Angie topless in the W spread?

Actually, there was a picture of Angie topless in the 2005 Vanity Fair. But she was lying on her stomach so all you could see was her back with the tattoos.
The investigation was led by Obama supporters, go figure. Obama’s association with the radicals and terrorists is far more serious. His association with ACORN needs federal investigation. ACORN committed massive vote fraud nationwide. Obama camp gave ACORN $800,000 and ACORN endorsed Obama.

Actually it was Perez who said it. But the pictures will be the talk of the web when this comes out. I think the few pics that we have seen are really beautiful. Question… Was that Angie with Z? The legs looked to large. But I can’t wait to see them. Brad has always been kind of Boho. He is viewed as this straight laced guy, but I don’t think that his him at all. He seems like still water, calm on the surface and a storm underneath. He has to be really passionate to be with Angie don’t you think. I remember the rumors of their crazy sex time in Africa. And that Brad was very animated. I would sale my house to view that sex tape. Don’t lie… Most of you here would do the same too.
I was on jjb and saw that the family has 2 dogs. I have never seen them with any pets. And just a quick comment, the way they are saying that Brad convinced her to have babies is a little misleading. She said that he had stopped talking about a bio child. She in turn saw his interaction with Madd and Zee and wanted to add a child to the family. That does not sound like he brain washed her, just that she saw something special in him with the other children, and would not be in danger if they had a child together… I know people who feel that way all the time.. If one or both of a couple have children separately and are considering have a child together. They fear that one parent may favor the child that is “Theirs”. That is a natural response. How great that she and Brad were able over come that, and forge ahead. I find them to be quite fascinating.

That is true! I didn’t know, until I saw the part about McCain’s wife during the convention that she has made about 50 humanitarian trips, has started many medical support programs (I must watch that tape again), is a pilot, and also brought a Bangladeshi orphan home from Mother Theresa’s orphanage. They call her Bridget, and she is now 17. So yes, Angie is very much like Cindy McCain. In fact, I think her father said it too.

I like Angelina and admire her but I have to get this off my chest.
There are some here who stated she is beginning to sound like a Stepford wife and in some respects this it true. Look at the headlines on People.com (of course People never has negative Brad news).

And the W front page: Brad Pitt’s Private Photos of Angelina Jolie.
It’s as though she has lost her own identity and is now only seen and identified as one half of Brangelina. The bold and vibrant Angelina that once was has been hijacked and replaced with this Brad spouting fembot.
I wish that just once, she would give an interview and not divulge any personal details. As a fan don’t need to know all about her family. I agree with the poster who stated Wanted succeeded partly because she didn’t do a lot of press for it. I am most interested in her films and humanitarian work. I am happy that she has a family that she loves, but that is not why I am interested in her.
As for those who say she doesn’t care and doesn’t bother with what is written and said about her, here is what she tells Reuben Naples
“People have called me a liar or bad. Fortunately, I was raised by a mom who loved me so much and made me comfortable with myself. I’m not a liar. I know I’m a decent person. I can go to bed at night knowing that I’m all right no matter what anybody says about me.”
This tells me she is aware of what is written and discussed negatively about her and feels the need to address and defend herself. I don’t believe the change in her physical appearance in last couple of years was solely due to her mother’s passing.
Can any one of you imagine being constantly scrutinized and critiqued for everything you do?
I can’t help but feel that Brad is pimping her and her children for his own gain and once again Angelina will be left holding the bag while he gets off scot free.
My main issue as to why I don’t care for him is because he never defended her at the outset of their relationship. Instead of coming out and stating strongly that a marriage breaks down due to the 2 individuals in it, and not a third party, he gave Diane Sawyer that lame a$$ “it’s a good story” answer when she asked him point blank if Angelina was a home wrecker. That was the wussiest line ever. Especially since HE was the one who PURSUED her.
I will watch Changeling because I support her as an extremely talented actress. I hope the movie does well but I’m not holding out much hope for it. I did notice in the trailers on t.v, it is being marketed as a Clint Eastwood film and Angelina name is not mentioned at all.
As a fan, I am saddened that this Brangelina thing has sprouted into this seven headed beast and is being perpetuated by some of their more rabid fans who only want to see Angelina as part of this rabid monster.
Angie didn’t say she will vote for Obama. I hope she doesn’t. NO Obama.

Have you seen the kind of people who are turning up at McCain’s rallies lately? Crazy white supremacists and right-wing loonies shouting slogans about Obama being a traitor and a terrorist. Never mind how much Angelina has in common with Cindy McCain, as the mother of one black and two Asian children, do you think she wants to be associated with these people? I feel sorry for Cindy McCain if this is the kind of support her husband has been attracting.
Wow. Just the screen shots at jjb, sooooooo adorable. - the one of Angie and Shiloh is just stunning. It so reminds me of Marcheline and her pics with James and Angie. Just natural and beautiful. Also the pic of Angie in the hat, with one of the babies in the borne carrier, and hat and shades…stunning…those babies have perfectly round heads. I can tell already the one AJ has a Voight head, like Shiloh’s big and round. hahahahahaha. Zee in her onesie and the high heels and hat, adorable — but that leg does not look liek AJ’s leg, it’s way too stocky…I think that’s Grandma or maybe a nanny. Love Mad and Angie cracking up at something too - and Pax with his little painted tiger face. Way to go Papa. You are a master!

I read on Pittwatch that a poster said that Angie is going to be on the Today Show next week (thurds oct 16) and that she is going to be interviewed by Matt Lauer for 1/2 an hour. Can someone confirm this?
Just got home and saw the W pics on E ,brad did a great job, angie has now become his muse, the topless shot with angie covering up with her hand is gorgeous, this issue is going to be an all time best seller.
