OlderAngelina Jolie Backs Barack Obama?
Angelina Jolie opens up to the German edition of Vanity Fair about everything from politics to her newborn twins. Here are some choice quotes via Us Weekly:
On why she could be voting for Barack Obama: “Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay. They are things which could move me to vote for him, not his roots. Of course, an American president like Barack Obama would be great for my family but would not be a reason to vote for someone.” (On Monday, Brad carried a notebook with a Obama sticker on it.)
On why she’s proud of the USA: “I am very proud of being American, and all my children have got American passports. For me, our family is just what America is - a melting pot, a mixture of many different races and nations. My children should be proud of their Asian and African roots, but that in no way means [is] a lack of respect for the fact that they and their parents are Americans.”
On her twins Knox and Vivienne (3-months-old on Sunday): “It’s a damned arduous business, and we are often simply whacked out because it is twice as hard with two babies as with one. But it also makes for double the fun. After we flew back from Europe, we were all suffering a bit from jetlag. We were all in bed early, but at half past four, they were awake and making a real racket… Brad took care of them. He said to me, ‘Go back to sleep, you’re back to work in the morning,’ and moved into the kids’ room with them. He is an astounding father, full of devotion… [Knox and Vivienne] have quite similar, stable rhythms. Every three hours they get hungry, then I have to satisfy them. But that’s OK, the two of them are totally sweet. When you see them, you think they were made for each other. They laugh together, they sniff each other, touch each other. It is beautiful.”
On struggling to find alone time with Brad: “Sometimes, at the end of the day, we try to retire to the bathroom to be undisturbed,” she says. “But then [the kids] hear the water running and want to come in and, yet again, we are all together. But that doesn’t disturb us because they are great kids.”
On how fame has changed motherhood for her: “I would like to have more freedom, especially to have the chance to be more spontaneous with my kids. Would I like to be able to walk through the streets with my kids? Of course. Would I like to be able to wander around Manhattan and buy them an ice cream like other mothers? Of course. But it is not possible. On the other hand, every morning I wake up with the people who are the most dear to me in the whole world. That’s why I don’t feel isolated from that, which is important to me. It helps, of course, that Brad knows all about it, but he’s experienced it even more than me. We often talk about it and try to make the best of things. But I am very grateful for our life and everything that we have.”

Wow…I just saw the box office numbers for this weekend and “Body of Lies” tanked like a mofo! Warners is going to take a bath on this one. The budget was $70MIL and the movie only made $13.1MIL in it’s opening weekend. I can’t help it but everytime I see a major Warner’s move tank I do a little happy dance because of the way they shafted AOJJ. It also makes me wonder if Universal is pondering the fate of “State of Play” now, too. They see a major Russell Crowe/Leo flick die at the box office and they have to fear for their movie, with a similar budget, and less popular co-star in Ben Affleck. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when SOP comes out in April of next year -

Passing Through, I remember that magazine. Since I didn’t know about Jared’s then I would search the magazine shelves for information on the joliepitts. And I was so impressed with how positive this magazine was to them. I even bought that issue. Didn’t it say that Brad ordered vegetarian chili one time, emphasizing the vegetarian? I thought that was sweet. And since I am vegetarian I volunteered to fix him some if he couldn’t find it. Peace

I haven’t read that article in while, so I don’t remember about the vegetarian chili. However…Brad was a vegetarian donkey years ago, but he hasn’t been for a long time now. IIRC he gave it up around about the time he dumped Putrid.
PT l know that the papers were filed in March but didn’t x hold on to them hoping Brad would change his mind before filling them.Brad knew he wanted to go after Angelina and she x knew too.

All I smell is egomaniacal fameho who’ll do anything to get in the news. JLo has no movie career, no singing career to speak of. She has to manufacture photo ops and “news” items to stay relevant. Luckily for us she doesn’t stoop to her own version of the Ass & Cooch Show. Although…wouldn’t it be hilarious to see X and JLo vacationing at the same resort? I can see it now - there’s X in her too-small bikini bottoms with her ass stuck in the air. As for Julia Roberts - I always laugh about her working with Brad because they has ZERO chemistry in “The Mexican”. Yet…when they were working together X was so freaking jealous that she actually dragged her ass down to Meh-hee-co for part of the shoot. She didn’t want Julia getting her hooks into her (X’s) gravy train. That’s how you can tell that Brad’s marriage to X was over before he started filming M&MS - because X never once bothered to go to the set to check on her meal ticket. Sure, a politer version is that she trusted Brad and knew he wouldn’t cheat, BUT…come on. It’s Angelina Jolie. Any man who says he wouldn’t be tempted to cheat is gay or dead. And even gay men have said they would cheat for her Angie! So that marriage was all over but for the filing of the papers.

Now contrast that to Angelina who in her 20’s set out to educate herself on the world around her. Yet somehow his humanitarian efforts are seen as more authentic while hers are derided as being self serving.

My take (sorry…speculation) on the W photo shoot is he got into a snit when Angie blabbed to the world (as per usual) about how he got those tattoes on his back. So now she has to prop him up and praise him to the high heavens (with a choir of rabid Brangelina fans providing the background music) and allow him to take unflattering pics of her to show off his “artistic” side. Make no mistake, he is going to profit from these pictures same as he did back in 2005 with the photo shoot promoting MMS.

Angelina is not stupid, she won´t vote for Obama just because her father votes for McCain and she won´t vote for Obama just because Brad does so. she will vote for whatever candidate she thinks is best.

Oh, I see what you’re saying - you mean was she supposed to file earlier than she did? If so, then yes, I think that’s accurate. Some of us used to laugh and say that when X was dragging her feet - Brad’s response was to come up with concept for the W shoot with Angie. That’s why X saying he’s lacking a sensitivity chip was so funny. Well, it’s not like he hadn’t given her ample opportunity to file the damned papers without a little prompting. That’s why I’ve never thought it was a coinkydink that she filed the papers the weekend of the shoot. That ho knew darned good and well that Brad was doing that shoot that weekend. She was all but stalking him so there’s no way she didn’t know. Then she goes on TV and gives that guileless interview that she didn’t know about it and because he would do something like that is one of the reasons why they werne’t together anymore. Pfffft. They weren’t together anymore because BRAD didn’t want them to be…not because SHE had some high falutin’ standards that he couldn’t live up to. She played the public like a violin. Oops…make that Huvane played the public like a violin. She’d never come up with all of this stuff on her own because she’s not smart enough.

She is responding to a question..
Of course she has to do publicity for a movie, its part of the contract. No one is allowed to have a movie released without publicity, none of the studios will allow it. She has to do a certain number of tv interviews, red carpet, magazine interviews for a movie.. so does Clint Eastwood and other cast members.
and like it or not, her name sells. Every one tries to interject Angelina Jolie’s name into a sentence so they can get publicity for whatever it is that they are doing.

He was probablly at a point where he had “given up” on finding true love. She being so clingy and all, recognizing her chance to be in the spotlight, probablly made him feel like that was the best he was going to do. People do funny things when they are lonely and feel like time is passing.
20 mil for X? For that box office poison? The only reason TBU did okay was because it was around the time Brad dumped her and there was so much written about the name.

Her statements may be “vage” but I don’t think her ideas are vague at all. She knows good and well how she is going to vote, and it’s her own business. She doesn’t have to tell her decision to anyone.

That’s not what Angie said. Angie said she’d met X once but she didn’t say it was on the set of M&MS. IT WASN’T DURING the shoot. It was BEFORE the shoot ever started. They passed each other on the studio lot - Friends was filmed on the same lot - and shook hands and X said Brad was looking foward to working with her. Go back and read the Vogue yourself. Angie said it “wasn’t a proper meeting” or words to that effect. Furthermore, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of photos from the M&MS set. Find me ONE photo of X on the set with Brad. JUST ONE PHOTO. Happy hunting. There aren’t any because X NEVER WENT TO THE M&MS SET. It’s not even like this hasn’t been stated before, so what’s the big deal?

Brad was content with X? Now I am not buying it. They were giving interviews all the time saying they had no idea why they were even together… And Brad was doing mundane things like filming Jackass.. He was in therapy, didnt really work and then Jolie happened and Jolly good times rolled.
and dont remind us about the whole smokin, tannin’ and hangin’ in Mexico days.. You know when X said the sensitivity chip was missing .. Brad had actually taken the sensitivity and memory chip out of his system so he could erase X and those years.

LOL. It was mostly location shoots in Meh-hee-co. I’ll have to go over to Simplybrad.com and see if I can find a picture of X on location with him. I’m sure she spent plenty of quality time at the pool as well, cuz really…what’s a trip to Meh-hee-co without an Ass & Cooch display?
