OlderAngelina Jolie Backs Barack Obama?
Angelina Jolie opens up to the German edition of Vanity Fair about everything from politics to her newborn twins. Here are some choice quotes via Us Weekly:
On why she could be voting for Barack Obama: “Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay. They are things which could move me to vote for him, not his roots. Of course, an American president like Barack Obama would be great for my family but would not be a reason to vote for someone.” (On Monday, Brad carried a notebook with a Obama sticker on it.)
On why she’s proud of the USA: “I am very proud of being American, and all my children have got American passports. For me, our family is just what America is - a melting pot, a mixture of many different races and nations. My children should be proud of their Asian and African roots, but that in no way means [is] a lack of respect for the fact that they and their parents are Americans.”
On her twins Knox and Vivienne (3-months-old on Sunday): “It’s a damned arduous business, and we are often simply whacked out because it is twice as hard with two babies as with one. But it also makes for double the fun. After we flew back from Europe, we were all suffering a bit from jetlag. We were all in bed early, but at half past four, they were awake and making a real racket… Brad took care of them. He said to me, ‘Go back to sleep, you’re back to work in the morning,’ and moved into the kids’ room with them. He is an astounding father, full of devotion… [Knox and Vivienne] have quite similar, stable rhythms. Every three hours they get hungry, then I have to satisfy them. But that’s OK, the two of them are totally sweet. When you see them, you think they were made for each other. They laugh together, they sniff each other, touch each other. It is beautiful.”
On struggling to find alone time with Brad: “Sometimes, at the end of the day, we try to retire to the bathroom to be undisturbed,” she says. “But then [the kids] hear the water running and want to come in and, yet again, we are all together. But that doesn’t disturb us because they are great kids.”
On how fame has changed motherhood for her: “I would like to have more freedom, especially to have the chance to be more spontaneous with my kids. Would I like to be able to walk through the streets with my kids? Of course. Would I like to be able to wander around Manhattan and buy them an ice cream like other mothers? Of course. But it is not possible. On the other hand, every morning I wake up with the people who are the most dear to me in the whole world. That’s why I don’t feel isolated from that, which is important to me. It helps, of course, that Brad knows all about it, but he’s experienced it even more than me. We often talk about it and try to make the best of things. But I am very grateful for our life and everything that we have.”

After searching through the entire month of July 2005 I don’t see any stories from WENN in the IMDB archive that mentions X. There are 6 or 7 stories that talk about Brad’s meningitis scare but are careful to only cite legit sources or Cindy G. The story I’m thinking about was tabloidish all the way - “insiders say” and “close pals indicate” kind of stuff. I’ll keep looking though. I’ll try Contactmusic.com next because they’re a hotbed of crappy tabloid stories, too…
If anyone is interested in any of the other old Jolie-Pitt “news” that they may have missed at the time, then the IMDB’s WENN archive is kind of a plain vanilla chronicling of what happened when. The archive goes back to 2000, but you can’t keyword search like Google or a search engine. It’s a calendar type setup when you select a date and they’ll display the news articles from that date. Here’s the link for anyone interested. If you want to read the stories on Brad’s meningitis start at about July 12 or 13, 2005. The stories about Z’s adoption start around July 8, 2005.

That’s a laugh! The woman was out of the public eye for 4 months and the ragloid industry came to a halt. One public appearance and it was like manna from heaven for them. For the past week or so, US Weekly’s side corner here on JJ has at least one story running on her. Even when newer stories are posted, they keep AJ’s…it’s like they’ve got anything with her name on sticky or something.

We honestly don’t get women who refuse to breastfeed their kids … just as we honestly don’t get all the controversy surrounding Angelina Jolie’s “super not-so-secret” breastfeeding picture on the upcoming cover of W magazine.
First of all, it’s not “sexy.” It’s natural, healthy and wonderful (dare we say miraculous), but it ain’t sexy.
Now don’t get us wrong, Angelina’s nipples are amazing. In fact, they’re ranked Nos. 2 & 3 on our list of the “Seven Modern Wonders of the World,” but for whatever reason we prefer to look at them without an infant’s hand in the picture.

Anyway, breastfeeding is good for babies. It helps build their immune systems and makes them stronger and healthier. Every woman who can breastfeed, should breastfeed, scientists tell us.
Just make sure you don’t ween your young one too early, lest they end up like our founding editor

Very sweet article.. and she really loves being a mom first.. dedicated to the core. I like how they have their little bag with their own toys so they can settle into a new place easily. Pax has a rope and stuffed monkeys, thats cute.. So he likes to jump rope?? Shi has her blankie and we have certainly seen that.
I wish they would do a reality show called “keeping up with the J-Ps”..

I was wondering why I liked reading that mag in the checkout line.. thats it, it read like a romance novel. Wish it would return so I dont have to turn the other out of touch weeklies at the checkout line, its getting laborious.

I think she has happiness, she is just lacking love. And I think she is one of those people who really want to get it right but doesnt want to make an effort.
I am sure she would love to be getting publicity for her movies, but she does a ****** job of picking them, she would love to be admired for her body but then she does the , credit PT, “ass and cooch show”.. she wants to be known as a real friend, but ends up being third wheel in the Cox marriage.. She really wanted to have kids, but just didnt want to make an effort.. She loved Brad but didnt know how to say it, always undermining him and then forgetting to thank him and then trying that lame ” you are my rock” comment.
Jennifer needs to find peace within her first, love herself and then seek out a man. And she also needs to lose Huvane as her publicist. Why does she need a publicist, she has no career to speak of anyways.
