Angelina Jolie Backs Barack Obama?

Angelina Jolie Backs Barack Obama?

Angelina Jolie opens up to the German edition of Vanity Fair about everything from politics to her newborn twins. Here are some choice quotes via Us Weekly:

On why she could be voting for Barack Obama: “Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay. They are things which could move me to vote for him, not his roots. Of course, an American president like Barack Obama would be great for my family but would not be a reason to vote for someone.” (On Monday, Brad carried a notebook with a Obama sticker on it.)

On why she’s proud of the USA: “I am very proud of being American, and all my children have got American passports. For me, our family is just what America is - a melting pot, a mixture of many different races and nations. My children should be proud of their Asian and African roots, but that in no way means [is] a lack of respect for the fact that they and their parents are Americans.”

On her twins Knox and Vivienne (3-months-old on Sunday): “It’s a damned arduous business, and we are often simply whacked out because it is twice as hard with two babies as with one. But it also makes for double the fun. After we flew back from Europe, we were all suffering a bit from jetlag. We were all in bed early, but at half past four, they were awake and making a real racket… Brad took care of them. He said to me, ‘Go back to sleep, you’re back to work in the morning,’ and moved into the kids’ room with them. He is an astounding father, full of devotion… [Knox and Vivienne] have quite similar, stable rhythms. Every three hours they get hungry, then I have to satisfy them. But that’s OK, the two of them are totally sweet. When you see them, you think they were made for each other. They laugh together, they sniff each other, touch each other. It is beautiful.”

On struggling to find alone time with Brad: “Sometimes, at the end of the day, we try to retire to the bathroom to be undisturbed,” she says. “But then [the kids] hear the water running and want to come in and, yet again, we are all together. But that doesn’t disturb us because they are great kids.”

On how fame has changed motherhood for her: “I would like to have more freedom, especially to have the chance to be more spontaneous with my kids. Would I like to be able to walk through the streets with my kids? Of course. Would I like to be able to wander around Manhattan and buy them an ice cream like other mothers? Of course. But it is not possible. On the other hand, every morning I wake up with the people who are the most dear to me in the whole world. That’s why I don’t feel isolated from that, which is important to me. It helps, of course, that Brad knows all about it, but he’s experienced it even more than me. We often talk about it and try to make the best of things. But I am very grateful for our life and everything that we have.”

dope, you are too stupid to correct or educate. Does your condition hurt much ? You might consider turning off the TV,eschewing any and all tabloids , and read some really good literature for the next oh 4 or 5 years . Then possibly you might cultivate some thinking skills and discern what is factual and what is fiction .

Awww, wassamatta Shitzy? You sitting up there in your double-wide, fat, ugly and unloved? Well face it, honey, that’s your karma. Angelina has six beautiful children, a gorgeous husband his ex-wife was too stupid to appreciate, and houses in all corners of the globe while your man left your stinky fat ass in your roach-infested trailer ten years ago and nobody else wants you. And just think, Shitzy, there’s nothing ahead for you except more of the same. Life’s a b*tch and then you die. Sucks to be you, doesn’t it?

Man wanted to establish a movie career before anything else. And she has become a pitiful, desperate loser and freaks blame Angie for their idols failed ambition.

boo(real) @ 10/13/2008 at 3:44 am

is Brad responsible for her “Rachel” acting or her being “easy”?? This woman has issues not the “girl” her fans attribute to a 40 year old woman.

boo(real) @ 10/13/2008 at 4:07 am

This 40 yr old hag and her HAG following keep the HOMEWRECKER lie alive??? WHY?? To JUSTIFY Maniston’s pity Party??? To DEFLECT semantics. Brad hooked up with Angie BEFORE the divorice was final.. the freaks DON”T say is maniston hooked up w/ Vince BEFORE the divorce was FINAL as well!!

DiCaprio-Crowe’s ‘Body of Lies’ couldn’t break the curse
It was the best of times…it was the worst of times.

That’s an apt phrase to sum up the weekend box office, which saw Ridley Scott’s Leonardo DiCaprio-Russell Crowe starrer “Body of Lies” only come in No. 3, grossing $13.1 million. Gulp. The film, about a CIA agent on the ground in the Middle East and his ruthless boss back home, couldn’t break the curse that films about the war on terrorism or the Iraqi war have suffered from.

Competing studios are saying that “Body of Lies,” from Warner Bros., could be the biggest financial loser of the year after “Speed Racer,” also from Warners. That’s because “Body of Lies” cost at least $100 million, if not more. Good thing “The Dark Knight” was such a knight in shining armor.

Universal’s sports drama “The Express” also fell flat, grossing $4.7 million. Doesn’t U remember the ill-fated “We are Marshall” or “Pride?” As a genre, sports dramas are looking more and more risky.

It’s a no brainer why Disney’s “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” came in No. 1 for the second weekend in a row. It’s cute. It’s funny. It’s a comedy. Considering the failing economy, who wants to be bummed out? Along those lines, it also makes sense why Screen Gems’ latest horror entry “Quarantine” beat the likes of DiCaprio and Crowe to come in No. 2. Like comedy, horror is a way to escape the real world.

Need I say more?

Eastwood finally talks about ‘Gran Torino’
You gotta love the power and stature Clint Eastwood commands. Only he, and he alone, determines what remains secret and what doesn’t.

We’ve all been wondering about his upcoming pic “Gran Torino,” which he both directed and stars in. So far, we don’t know very much. We’re not even sure when in December the film will be released.

This week, Eastwood talked about “Gran Torino” for the first time publicly when doing press for the other fall film he directed, Angelina Jolie starrer “The Changeling.”

Here’s what he said in one interview:

“I’m a weirdo in it. I play a real racist It’s a great time in life (to do that) because, you know, what can they do to you once you’re past 70? There’s nothing they can do. But it also has redemption. This Hmong family moves in next door, and he has been in the Korean War, in the infantry, and looks down on Asian people and lumps everybody together. But finally they befriend him in his time of need because he has no relationship with his family.”
Here’s another comment from Eastwood that came during an interview with MTV:

“I enjoy working. My family goes with me most of the time. It doesn’t seem like I work as much as I did when I was younger, but I guess it’s because I was traveling more. ‘Gran Torino’ was a little project that came along as I was doing postproduction on ‘Changeling,’ so I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do this.’ It’s the Frank Sinatra retirement thing: ‘One more time.’ It’s a crazy character, and I said, ‘I think I can play this character.’ We’ll see and leave that in the eye of the beholder. I love playing golf and doing other things, but when you’ve been doing it a certain amount of time, it becomes a part of you.”

The ECONOMIC MELTDOWN is worldwide.
============
The meltdown actually was caused by Democrats…
______________

THE REPUBLICANS WERE IN CHARGE OF THE SENATE FOR THE LAST 12 YEARS…..THIS ECONOMIC MESS BEGAN AND FLOURISHED UNDER THEIR WATCH!!!…

…..Democrats would not have been able to do anything about it even if they’d wanted to because they didnt have the numbers to enact anything into LAW, and it’s because of the republicans objections to REGULATING Wall Street that things were able to get so horribly out of control!

…There is NO debating these FACTS…..

…but you BRAIN-DEAD RACISTS can continue to support MC SAME and his deer-murdering bimbo…..

…I love how the McSAME campaign is so desperate that they are trying to make this about attacking Obama’s character, MEANWHILE…

-McSAME was so disconnected from his wife Cindy during their marriage, he did even know she was a drug-addict who was STEALING DRUGS FROM THE CHILDRENS CHARITY SHE STARTED!!!

-McSAME cheated on his 1st wife (who stuck by him while he was a POW) SEVERAL times BEFORE having an affair with Cindy McCain, and then marrying her a month after his divorce was finalized!!!

- BOTH John McSAME and Sarah Palin have BOTH now been determined to have excersized POOR JUDGEMENT and VIOLATING ETHICS LAWS (with the KEATING 5 scandal and TROOPERGATE)….and yet they want to speculate about Obama’s relationship with a reformed civil protester who practiced his disobedience when OBAMA WAS EIGHT YEARS OLD!!!

umm, yeeeah……I’ll be expecting OBAMA to be sworn in as the NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES shortly……

carry on.

boo(real) @ 10/13/2008 at 6:36 am

Jenlovers….how do you justify that Jen seems to support OBAMA!

Is it all Angelina’s fault??????

It looks like we have a fake Angelina fan.

boo(real) @ 10/13/2008 at 6:56 am

oh look, some dim sum trying to stir up crap. BP and AJ fans recognize fake name-changing trolls or passive-agressive fake fans.

maniston trolls give it up.. you pain-filled HAGS show your misery!! by constantly bringing up the past of X and her lonliness!!

Benjamin Button @ 10/13/2008 at 7:59 am

so much for building those houses in NOLA, Benjamin Button costed 27 million to taxpayers in NOLA.

Another brillant idea of Mr. Pitt who told Paramount he wanted the film made in NOLA

LOS ANGELES — Already on the hook for billions to bail out Wall Street, taxpayers are also finding themselves stuck with a growing tab for state programs intended to increase local film production.

The vacant set for “Terminator Salvation,” outside Albuquerque.

One of the most shocking bills has come due in Louisiana, where residents are financing a hefty share of Brad Pitt’s next movie — $27,117,737, to be exact, which the producers will receive by cashing or selling off valuable tax credits.

As the number of movies made under these plans multiplied in recent years, the state money turned into a welcome rescue plan for Hollywood at a time when private investors were fleeing the movies. But the glamour business has not always been kind to those who pick up the costs, and states are moving to rein in their largess that has allowed producers to be reimbursed for all manner of expenditures, whether the salaries of stars, the rental of studio space or meals for the crew.

Louisiana, one of the most assertive players in the subsidy game, wound up covering that outsize piece of the nearly $167 million budget of Mr. Pitt’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” — the state’s biggest movie payout to date — when producers for Paramount Pictures and Warner Brothers qualified the coming movie, a special-effects drama, under an incentive that has since been tightened. Separately, Louisiana’s former film commissioner is set to be sentenced in January to as much as 15 years in federal prison for taking bribes to inflate film budgets (though not that of “Button”) and, hence, pay higher subsidies.
Virtually all of the programs use a state tax system to reimburse producers for money spent on movies or TV shows shot in the state. Some, like Michigan’s, simply refund a percentage of expenditures to the producer. Others, like Louisiana’s, issue a tax credit that can reduce the taxes a production pays or be sold to someone else. Either way, the state gives up revenue that otherwise would be collected to put money in the producer’s pockets.

Advocates, of course, argue that these programs create jobs.

One of the country’s most successful programs is in New Mexico, which has backed movies like the Oscar-winning “No Country for Old Men” and next year’s “Terminator Salvation,” the latest sequel in the action series, with a reported budget of $200 million.

New Mexico officials boast of having used a 25 percent production cost rebate to build a local film industry that has attracted more than $600 million in direct spending since 2003, and an estimated $1.8 billion in total financial impact, as of last June. And in fiscal year 2008, the productions in the state generated 142,577 days of employment, up from 25,293 in 2004.

Elsewhere, however, critics have sharply challenged the notion that state subsidies for the film business can ever buy more than momentary glitter.

“There’s no evidence yet that this is a particularly efficient or effective way to create jobs,” said Noah Berger, executive director of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center.

The nonprofit center reviews budget and tax policies in Massachusetts, which is spending about $60 million a year on producer credits. A recent study by Mr. Berger’s center pointed out that the state’s film credit, at 25 percent, is five times higher than that offered to those who build in designated economic opportunity areas, and more than eight times the state’s standard investment tax credit.

Roger DeKay of Louisiana Wave Studio draining a 750,000-gallon pool to prepare it for a coming film production.

Until two years ago, Louisiana’s program offered a 15 percent credit for virtually the entire budget of a qualified film (and more for Louisiana resident wages), including money that may have been spent out of state. Things were fast and loose enough in Louisiana that Mark Smith, who oversaw the program, pleaded guilty last year to taking $67,500 in bribes to inflate budgets for a film production company that was not named by the authorities.

Kathy English, a spokeswoman for the United States attorney’s office in New Orleans, said the case remained open.

Louisiana’s new rules offer a larger credit, but only on spending within the state. That made the incentive less attractive for big-budget movies, like “Button,” which was done under old rules, and could recover parts of star salaries and other expenses that left Louisiana. But it has drawn a welter of smaller movies and TV shows, 70 of which have been shot so far in 2008, up from 56 the year before.
