Beyonce - “If I Were A Boy” Music Video
Check out the music video premiere of Beyonce’s “If I Were A Boy”!
“[The video] is about all of the little things that mean so much in a relationship,” the 27-year-old singer has said. “At the end of the clip, you realize that I was acting out his life, and it all starts over again. He was a cop and everything that happened was really him doing the same thing to me.” (Check out the lyrics here.)
The video was directed by Jake Nava, who also did Beyonce’s “Baby Boy” featuring Sean Paul. The song was produced by Toby Gad, who also worked on Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry”.

This song wasn’t stolen by Beyonce BC Jean sung the demo and sold it to Beyonce. I don’t know why yall keep comparing the two they have their own style, which makes them unique. Beyonce has a R&B/ Soul flare on the record and BC Jean has a punk rocker vibe on it. Either way both records are hot SO STOP HATIN’!!!

# 52 you are right. but consider this: if BC Jean could have put the song out there herself and people would give it the same credit they do when its a beyonce song, than she wouldnt have sold it.. And put it out there herself. Dont you think? Its a same that nobody knows her good enough to make it a number 1 hit. Cause i heard it on her myspace and she also makes it a good song. Beyonce has a big fanbase that will by her record anyhow. I truly hope that BC jean will get bigger after this song, cause she really is a good writer and singer!!
Nobody said it was stolen. I clearly stated it was too bad an up and coming artist had to sell her song to make it by. Especially when it’s clear that song is a hit. Personally with so FEW singer-songwriters out there it’s a shame this had to go to someone that doesn’t write their own music or lyrics.
Hate the song to the max ! Don’t like the sound of it ! I am disappointed of the likes of bey and Alicia to go for a more pop sound than the original soulfull sound. Where are the soul sisters ?

So many people have gotten caught up in the sexuality of music so when one comes out with a meaning they cant handle it. but believe me Beyonce also gave some of that with SL but as far as IIWAB goes it’s a beautiful song and video.
I like this Beyonce she stepped her game up in the right direction and I hope all the lip sync artist takes notes as how a real singer with talent can bring it on.

I think her doing this song is our fault. She always tries to take credit for copying everyone else. For every dollar she gets for this song, and she will make money on it, she is rewarded for it. Poor BC Jean. Regardless if she wrote the song or not. She sung it. The lease Beyonce could have done was change the sound. She sung it tune by tune, lyric by lyric. This is about the twentieth time she has been caught “sampling”. Where is BC’s credit for making the effort to become something. Beyonce needs to reinvent herself by being herself, not someone else. BC Jean needs to be compensated for it and not by just appearing on her album. Beyonce makes 8-10 million a year and you can’t come up with your own stuff? or pay someone to write something? She gets away with too much… they all do! Very disappointing.
B.C. Jean sounds horrible singing this song, Beyonce has done this song wonders, I don’t care what anyone has to say. B.C jean will never be as sucessful as Beyonce. So for all you guys who are saying that Beyonce stoled this song, your dead wrong. It was brought to her, after B.C Jean deal fell through, no one can steal a song, that would be major court action if that was so, Beyonce is a talented well established signer and entertainer she doesn’t need to steal songs. She is speaking from a boy’s view stating that this is the way a boy (not a man) would treat a woman. This concepts carries the weight of the entire song.
It has nothing to do with being a feminist. come on we all know that there are some great guys out there, but it is in their NATURE to do most of the things she speak about. ( turning off the phone, hanging out and getting coverec for it, roll out of bed with out a care, and yes knowing that the submissive woman would be home waiting)

Yes she empowers women to show them that we do not have to play the role that society creates for us. We can be stronger than that. We can show men that we ca be independent, even though we would want for them to accept us and our responsibilities. ( bills etc)
Lets face reality…….there are many songs out there that states the role a man plays and we accept it. She is not asking for us to accept this song…….she is displaying the RAW TRUTH of the way BOYS act and not Men. Women were taught to be submissive to their men….HUSBANDS…..i mean its evident.
