OlderAngelina Jolie’s W Magazine Photo Spread Revealed
W Magazine has published a bunch of the photos of Angelina Jolie and the kids, as photographed by longtime partner Brad Pitt. You can view them at WMagazine.com. (You have to click through the eight slides in the Flash slideshow.) Here are some choice excerpts from the cover article:
– Every family has its unique rites of passage, those generational milestones that mark a child’s growth and remind parents of their own similar experiences, years earlier. In the Jolie-Pitt household, one such event is the day a kid begins collecting daggers. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s seven-year-old son, Maddox, like many boys his age, has lately developed a fondness for guns and knives, and Jolie proudly notes that the predilection runs in the family. “My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12,” she recalls. “And I’ve already bought Maddox some things. We take him to a special shop.” She emphasizes that the knife blades are dulled so they’re not dangerous, and that the purchases are accompanied by discussions about violence. But, she says, “we also talk about samurais and about the idea of defending someone as good. We talk about everything.”
– If Jolie has a favorite possession, she says, it’s the overstuffed Tumi case that holds the family’s travel documents: Vietnamese, Namibian, Ethiopian, French and American passports, plus her own UN credentials.
– The Jolie-Pitt bedroom, of course, remains off-limits to journalists. And sometimes even to kids, Jolie declares. “The kids do knock before entering,” she says. “We’ve at least got that part down. Because Mommy and Daddy need some space.”

black, did you read the back story of how this shoot came about?. It was actually suggested by the magazine, and Brad jumped at the chance. It’s a romantic, revealing fun shoot. Take it as such. And as bdj mentioned earlier, Vanessa Paradis is extolling her and Johnny Depps “love”. Why can’t Angie do the same.
As for the contrived “uproar” over the “daggers and knives” mention, please. The reason so many kids use violence as an outlet, is because no one educate them about the pros and cons.

They want to control what she says, who she’s with, and how she raises her children. Its a weird kind of psychosis. Anycrazy, I just love when Angelina has a new movie to promote and she talks about her kids or her work and they yell, she’s over exposed. When if they bother to read her articles, which I’m sure they do, they would see that she talks about the exact same thing in the exact same way every time.
The W article is similar to her interviews when she promoted Wanted, the only new information that I can see is about the twins. And even that is very superficial. What gets me about the trolls and other brain dead people in the media, they act like they get new information. When the fact of the matter is Angie has been saying the same things for almost four years now.
That should tell you how important she is that they would take the same things that she has been saying for years and reprint it like its new. Its funny as hell. That’s why I just look at the pictures now.

Angelina’s commentary does appear to be the same, that observation is certainly true. However, it’s still convenient timing; both have films coming out soon, and there’s the issue that their children are pictured. I realize that these six individuals are very important parts of their lives - perhaps the most, besides each other - but it does seem wrong to utilize that aspect of your life to promote your image and/or a film. I respect AJ and BP for not revealing more information than necessary, but I don’t know if I would expose my children to that kind of attention (although I realize that the paparazzi is unavoidable). Just my take on this . . .
With regards to the photos, Brad appears to be a budding amateur photographer, and Angelina looks beautiful as usual.

Angie and Brad’s detractors are REALLY incensed that they would dare take control of their own image in the media and shoot their own pictures etc. The reality is that they are always going to be written about and photographed, so why the heck SHOULDN’T they do it on their own terms?! Too bad for you if it pisses you off so much.
The reality is that today it sucks to be a hater - Angie and Brad are not going to ’shut up and go away’, as much as the haters may want them to, and that’s what is driving them nuts. Well get over it! Their millions of fans around the world are THRILLED to have some non-paparazzi pictures and a sincere, real interview and story about them.
And PUH-LEEZE - all this whining and crying from the Stepford Wives Continency over Maddox receiving a dulled down dagger as a symbol of tradition and honour. Yes, God forbid any boy in our world today should learn the difference between senseless violence and the honour that comes from discipline and defending sound principles.
It’s the young boys that DON’T learn the difference that are prey to gangs, violence, and committing senseless crimes. Go read up about Samurai’s and what Angie and Brad are trying to teach Maddox, instead of criticizing what you don’t understand or know.

Oh please Jill you have everything figured out with your common sense you actually would think that angie brad and were your friends. How old are you ? trolls,fugly, ect Do you want to read what you write no one is jealous of anyone do you know what opinion means .where different I’m not sure about anyone lives that i don’t know as you are, but Jill you think your always right so I usually don’t even write you back. You can call me names what ever turns you on, but don’t mention my mom thats dead for 20 yrs i happen to have a wonderful father who did and does a great job. Au contraire, madam roadkill, Scientist have proven that you can objectively rank beauty based on the symmetry of one’s face. Now I know you probably don’t read periodicals but this technique has been done on my celebrities including Brad and Angelina. And it was proven that there faces are more symmetric than about 99.99% of the population.
Oh what a wonderful family! I’m so happy that she is allowing her eldest child to collect knives and teaching him how to defend himself with them. More mothers should do that. I know that when I become a mother I will start my baby learning about knives after the first month they are born. Maddox will be the cutest lil’ Sumari ever! I can see him now serving the family without question. And falling on his sword if need be to defend the family honor. What a cool mom! I hope my children will be so loyal and obident. You go Angie girl!

Just some thoughts on the photos. I really think they are quit beautiful. I was watching M&MS for the umpteenth time, and could not help but notice all the references that could be applied to Brad/Angie’s real lives. Check it out and see what I mean. It was raining and I had some time on my hands
