OlderAngelina Jolie’s W Magazine Photo Spread Revealed
W Magazine has published a bunch of the photos of Angelina Jolie and the kids, as photographed by longtime partner Brad Pitt. You can view them at WMagazine.com. (You have to click through the eight slides in the Flash slideshow.) Here are some choice excerpts from the cover article:
– Every family has its unique rites of passage, those generational milestones that mark a child’s growth and remind parents of their own similar experiences, years earlier. In the Jolie-Pitt household, one such event is the day a kid begins collecting daggers. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s seven-year-old son, Maddox, like many boys his age, has lately developed a fondness for guns and knives, and Jolie proudly notes that the predilection runs in the family. “My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12,” she recalls. “And I’ve already bought Maddox some things. We take him to a special shop.” She emphasizes that the knife blades are dulled so they’re not dangerous, and that the purchases are accompanied by discussions about violence. But, she says, “we also talk about samurais and about the idea of defending someone as good. We talk about everything.”
– If Jolie has a favorite possession, she says, it’s the overstuffed Tumi case that holds the family’s travel documents: Vietnamese, Namibian, Ethiopian, French and American passports, plus her own UN credentials.
– The Jolie-Pitt bedroom, of course, remains off-limits to journalists. And sometimes even to kids, Jolie declares. “The kids do knock before entering,” she says. “We’ve at least got that part down. Because Mommy and Daddy need some space.”

I’m with a few of these posters…I’m sick to death of these two. I bet if Saint Angelina ran for pres, she’d win…everyone is so engulfed in her every move.
Further more, If Brad is taking such intimate photos of his family, isn’t that pimping out his family??? Every photo in this spread is oscar worthy. Seriously, no one has ever taken such personal photos of my family, including my husband or I. The picutres look like her portfolio for a modeling job, kids in tow.

Brad takes lovely pictures … probably because he has lovely subjects to shoot; i’m sure brad also took pics of his oldest daughter, but they failed to include them in the slide-show . . . guess we’ll have to wait for the magazine.

The Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum wants you – the public - to express your views on what constitutes good design for the annual People’s Design Award. Individuals can go online and nominate examples of designs that they think are worthy and vote for the designs that are already presented. There are approximately 180 designs to choose from – ranging from the lowbrow, high-tech to the handmade.
Designs currently on the site range from Brad Pitt’s Make It Right housing project in New Orleans to Inhabitant.com’s green design website. Many of the 180 designs are a bit corporate – like gDiapers flushable diapers or the ThinkPad X300 notebook computer.

When we were kids, we learned how to handle guns, bows and arrows and knives. Mostly at a shooting range although my brother did archery competition for a while.
I know he used knives in scouting.
No one “put their eye out” and no one grew up to be a “killer”, or even a hunter. We were always supervised and learned that weapons, if used capriciously will kill.
