OlderAngelina Jolie’s W Magazine Photo Spread Revealed
W Magazine has published a bunch of the photos of Angelina Jolie and the kids, as photographed by longtime partner Brad Pitt. You can view them at WMagazine.com. (You have to click through the eight slides in the Flash slideshow.) Here are some choice excerpts from the cover article:
– Every family has its unique rites of passage, those generational milestones that mark a child’s growth and remind parents of their own similar experiences, years earlier. In the Jolie-Pitt household, one such event is the day a kid begins collecting daggers. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s seven-year-old son, Maddox, like many boys his age, has lately developed a fondness for guns and knives, and Jolie proudly notes that the predilection runs in the family. “My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12,” she recalls. “And I’ve already bought Maddox some things. We take him to a special shop.” She emphasizes that the knife blades are dulled so they’re not dangerous, and that the purchases are accompanied by discussions about violence. But, she says, “we also talk about samurais and about the idea of defending someone as good. We talk about everything.”
– If Jolie has a favorite possession, she says, it’s the overstuffed Tumi case that holds the family’s travel documents: Vietnamese, Namibian, Ethiopian, French and American passports, plus her own UN credentials.
– The Jolie-Pitt bedroom, of course, remains off-limits to journalists. And sometimes even to kids, Jolie declares. “The kids do knock before entering,” she says. “We’ve at least got that part down. Because Mommy and Daddy need some space.”

she looks so much like her mother in this photo. i really admire how she’s turned her life around these past several years, from silly vials of blood antics to helping change the world for the better, she’s pretty much transformed from being a novelty to an inspiration to millions. i admire her for her. NOT like the way others do when they start comparing her to other celebrities and enumerate how much better they think she is. what matters most is that in essence, she’s a positive contributor to our world.

How soon before Aniston rears her ugly chin and bikini a-$-$ again? Or did her publicist grow a brain and advised her to just stay home — forever?

First of all I’m not losing mind, its my opinion as I respect your opinion you don’t have to fend for angie and brad like they really care. One more thing my mom did a wonderful job with me don’t you ever bring up my beautiful mother you understand my mom had died 20 yrs ago at a young age and don’t even say thats why, someone i loved so dearly if you have your mom still with you, you would understand. I don’t know why you get so hyped up over people we truly don’t know. I don’t think brad did a good job doesn’t mean i hate them I think Angie’s should really keep some things personal, I think shes crazy with some things she comes out with.

I’m going to go out on limb and say neither Jolie or Pitt let Maddox run up and down the hallways of their home at sprinter speeds humming the theme from Mission Impossible with it…it’s probably in a box, on a shelf, in one of their homes (probably Los Feliz). Stop trying to make it bigger than it needs to be.
And as savvy as she is, she knew full well what mentioning this bit of information would do to those nervous nellies and those issuing fake uproar. You will always find something to be upset about as it pertains to her or them. She (and Brad) obviously don’t care and that’s one of the things that makes me like her/them LOL

This is so weird for me to hear people complaining about people collecting guns and knives. My grandfather has a collection of guns of all types on the wall in their den and when people comes over he talks about it and now my brothers collects knives and all types of hands guns, and none of these guns have ever been used , just decorations on the wall. I am a bit surprise to hear people complaining because this is so American. I was brought up in Louisiana and everybody I knew had guns and knives at home and really none of the children ever bother them because you would get into big trouble. My mom and dad went to work and those guns were never messed with. It was about 11 of them going way back to the civil war days. My grandfather also had a favorite knife that he used to eat apples, hickory nut, Coconut for christmas and made his own toothpicks from a special tree limb. I am sure Angelina and Brad fits in well in the South because everything you people dislike about what she does with her kids people do it there and it is not a big deal and that why I so identify with these two people because they are for real and let you know who they are. I cannot wait for this W Magazine to come out. Brad/Angie stay true to yourselves…PEACE
Ok I said I wouldn’t look at the pictures until I got the magazine but I looked, lol. They’re beautiful. I love the one with Shiloh and Pax, with Maddox cracking up, and the one of her carrying Knox (I think it’s Knox, Viv had more and darker hair). And the one where she’s making the fish lips reminds me of a 1930s silent movie star, I have no idea why. She has a beautiful face and Brad captured it very well. Great pictures.
stop insulting Angelina’s mum who died,if she says she learned from her mother who bought her a knife,why does it bother you that she’s following the woman she respected and loved.When are you going to take your own advice and let Angelina talk about whatever she wants.Who are you to call her crazy.I see now why you dont have guidance in yor life.I hope you find happiness and learn not to judge people.You need to find peace.How many time are you going to say the same thing over and over again,it is no longer about you posting an opinion and you know it.
I think haters try to find all negatives. I think the woman is honest and she has nothing to hide. Items collected are not for violence according to her. They are part of some collectibles. I think she said the boy is collecting aeroplanes too as toys.

These moments with their children are PRIVATE and should be kept so. Why even feel the inclination to share these pics with the public unless you enjoy the publicity that comes along with it? Hypocritical much of them? And don’t even attempt to justify it with the excuses that they are proud and want to share their life with the world or that Brad is an artist and blah, blah, blah…All I can say is don’t keep expressing in interviews how the media is invasive and disturbs your life when you do the same thing to yourself in this magazine…they are as guilty of keeping the media interest on them as the papz and press…

What I complain about is the fact that every single time Angelina and Brad are out of the public eye the press makes up, out of whole cloth, stories.
They are always splitting up, Angie is always kicking Brad out, no…wait, Angie is mad at Brad for leaving…and on and on…
There is a difference between going out and knowing your picture will be taken, sharing pictures, giving interviews and having people show up at your kids preschool or having people parked on your property wearing camis and using port-a-potties.
The press does this because they sell magazines. Period. If Angelina and Brad are not talking to them, then all rags start the crap.

IMHO- I love this interview, it’s candid, straight forward and with all the beautiful pictures as a bonus……Yeah!!!!!!!!!!.
As for keep her personal things personal, well, people are ready to believe her tumy tuck story, or her depression story or her and Brad are over story from the tabloids, why not dispelled all the so called “insider” information from tabloid made up stories by being personal? She’s a genius!!!!!!!!
Great photos, maybe they don’t need professional photo shoots in the future for the family! We are living in the 21st century and this family is avant-garde. Angie is raising their children the way her own mother reared her, lucky children!
The article in W magazine was very good but the pictures reveal even more. Looking forward to get a copy!

I am respecting others I haven’t said a word of what you think.
You know my daughter just this second called me shes at the store they have t-shirts one said don’t hit your children they shoot you. In todays world its sad to say but thats how it is. Don’t you read the papers of the violence in this world somethings Angelina should keep to herself a lot of people worship everything she says and she knows that shes most admired woman right? Oh please you must know things have changed certain things should never be brought up and I’m not making to much out of this. Angelina is very smart with this one she should have thought first….

Brad use to collect swords. He talked about it in old interview around the GP days. He also gave our hand craved knifes as gifts to the crew of AOJJ. It seems both parents respect and enjoy knifes. So it seems they want to teach their kids to respect and enjoy them also.
Now would I collect them? No but then again I would not collect or have my child collect Beanie babies either.

I am beyond in love with this W. I think it will be my altime fav of them all. I love the pursed lip pic, the floppy hat and baby pic, and the one with she and Mad laughing the most “so far.” I’m from a family were guns, knives, archery are the norm. I shot my first gun at 10 that I remember and hated it, but the more I learned, and the more I respected the power, the more I liked them. I’m a military kid (family), and although I’m not fond of how guns have become so politicized (I despise the NRA), I have no intentions of not having them and knives. As long as children are educated about every aspect of them, and how serious it is to have them, I’m not having a problem. I love how Angelina & Brad invest the time in teaching their kids about those things now. To many kids end up learning things from their friends, and thats when _hit happens that could have been prevented.
