Beyonce - “Single Ladies” Music Video

I will not let my daughter be entertained by this video…can’t she showcase her talent rather than her ASS all the time.

I should preface this comment by saying that I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and my comment is in no way a definitive statement or meant to devalue others feelings. That said, here is my opinion:

The Song:
The song is cute, but by no means outstanding. The lyrics are simple and to the point and it has a catchy tune. I mean, what more do we really ask or require of our mainstream entertainers today anyway.

The Video:
I was thoroughly impressed by the video. I found it refreshing to see a simple video with a simple concept executed so well. Its been a while since I’ve seen straight up dancing in a video that isn’t body-doubled. The choreography is really on point and for those who dance or have tried to learn choreography would know that Beyonce does a great job of holding her own against her backup dancers.

Fat Comment;
I’m slightly concerned for those who think that Beyonce looks fat. Beyonce might be a few things, crazy (anyone remember her alternate personality Sasha?), but “fat” doesn’t come to mind. Sure, she isn’t as skinny as the ‘professional dancers’ in her video but I wouldn’t think that a size larger than 0 would automatically condemn her to being ‘plus size’. It just seems to me that some people have distorted body images.

Comparison to Rihanna:
There are some people who say that Rihanna is the “new Beyonce”…What is that really suppose to mean? Why can’t Rihanna just be Rihanna. There is something to be said about an audience that finds it hard to have two outstanding females of color in the limelight at the same time.

Plus, Beyonce didn’t go anywhere! Can a celebrity have a personal life. Lets say for example, get MARRIED, without the fear that on her honeymoon, Rihanna is going to be running around as her doppelganger.

In my opinion, if Rihanna were to hypothetically try to take Beyonce’s spot, she would have a big space to fill (no pun intended). Because, when it comes to the shear performance and entertainment factor, Beyonce out shines Rihanna in nearly every aspect. Rihanna in my opinion is a cute girl and very marketable but when it comes to live performances she is deadpan and quite underwhelming. Just a sidenote in reference to comment #24, I’d say it’s one thing to fall asleep while watching Beyonce interview, but its something totally different to be falling asleep while watching Rihanna perform.

U know what’s so funny….how much people hate on beyonce. she is doing her thang and workin it..and people still manage to stil hate on her. I mean ****…if u hate her so much don’t watch the video..and keep ur opinions to urself.

Hi Haters!

Haters will be haters. For all those saying Beyonce needs to put some clothes on. Honey Bee is always handles herself with class and dignity, even when she does have on revealing outfits. Some of you are quite prude and don’t even understand the meaning of a **** or a *****, but sure love to throw it around alot. A **** or ***** is someone who is promiscuous, and engages in sexual activity with many different male or female partners. Beyonce however is an ENTERTAINER! You’re not going to see her walking around in leotards, hot pants, and tight dresses off stage in her everyday life.

And since when did dressing sexy make someone a ****? There is a HUGE difference between dressing sexy and dressing ******, and Beyonce has NEVER dressed ******. Now, compare this video to Britney Spear’s new video and tell me which is sexy and which is ******? Exactly! Beyonce’s video for Single Ladies is sexy! She’s showing off her beautiful legs and nothing more. Her butt is covered and her breasts aren’t exposed, so what are you people complaining about? Now, Britney’s video on the other hand has her butt naked, flailing erotically on a slab in a Sauna/Shower. She’s running around molesting men throughout the video. She Engages in inappropriate work office behavior, and has a groping orgy with a group of her backup dancers. so yeah, who’s the ****** one now?

The “Single Ladies” video is the epitome of sexy. Its simple but it works so well. You people are so concerned with someone shelling out millions of dollars to produce a special effects extravaganza when all that isn’t needed every time you do a video. Britney Spears needed hundreds of special effects and gimmicks and tricks in her video because she HAD to make a strong comeback. Britney Spears isn’t doing anything new in her video either, that we haven’t seen her do dozens and dozens of other times in her previous videos. Hell, Womanizer is basically Toxic all over again.

But anyway, I’m done talking. I’ve proven my point. From this point on any hater that posts can simply rot on the 9th level of hell. Losers.

People hate on Beyonce so much.. I am not gonna get into it right now b/c I can go on and on and on and on about why people should get a life instead of sitting around putting others down with their words.. I will not leave however without saying what an awesome job I think Beyonce is doing. If there were no one else on the face of the planet that had her support, she would most definately have all of mine and some.. It would be an honor to be the only person to purchase all of you items; the only mofo at a concert.. Beyonce is truly an awesome singer and entertainer in my book.. God Bless you girl and keep doing what God has blessed you to do. Don’t worry about the haters; just keep in mind that when people talk badly about you, the angels in Heaven rejoice…
