#75… well, there was talk of his casting as “Hadrian”. Also, from the Dedicated to Daniel site it looks as though production of “I, Lucifier” has been halted.

So you’re probably right taking a long holiday… but the premieres for QOS will go into early next year - Japan will be the last major country to get the release in January.

So we’ll see…

to kitty duran @ 10/14/2008 at 10:20 pm

has it been halted due to his Bond promotion/injury or what? this film it taking along time and that does not bode well plus he has his defiance promotion too

award season early next year too so he’ll probably be up for something or another..

seems like daniel will be busy for awhile..how can he possibly rest?

KittyDuran @ 10/14/2008 at 10:28 pm

Yep, talk of Oscars all right… probably Defiance even though I would like to see maybe a nod for QOS (highly doubt it).

I haven’t been paying too much attention to possible nominations… I wonder if Daniel is nominated what will be the competition and what will be his chances?

to kitty duran @ 10/14/2008 at 10:50 pm

i think the oscar talk is for his co star Liev Schrieber to be honest, that’s the talk around tinseltown, not Daniel.

I think it might be up for best film/cinematogrophy maybe (and Tuvia’s widow is on the Oscar nom panel), but QoS, not best actor but special effects, editing, cinematography I think.

He may get a Bafta nod again for both films i think

If he isnt nominated for either film at the oscar’s i doubt he’ll be there

that’s because Craig is a self conscious wooden actor

he is not considered to be talented

photogenic eyes but nothing much behind them

the lights are on but noone’s home

to #80

i think he was superb in many of his earlier films and Infamous recently but i have to agree on the self-concious part..he seems to have stiffened up in front of the camera a bit…Bond has made too much of dent in him i think.

Flashbacks was more than disappointing, lets hope he isnt turning into a parody of himself…and he needs to watch that pout and focus on depth rather than anticipation of himself in a scene.

many actors suffer from the same thing though, b-list into a-list and they are out of their depth in many ways..he needs to stick to Indie films with maybe a supporting role in high budget ones to prevent overexposure..

he is also making the wrong choices in parts, what that is down to is anyone’s guess.

to 81 and 82

I agree!

He needs to stay away from the muscleman roles and stripping off, THAT is not doing him any good.

I was told by someone in Hollywood, an agent, that Daniel Craig is not really considered a great talent and that taking Bond was really a “crazy” move for him. The irony, they told me, was that the more successful he becomes a Bond, the harder it is for him to obtain credibilty elsewhere.

He does need another non Bond role to propel him past Bond, and (apparently) he (Daniel) has placed tremendous hopes in Defiance and getting awards for it.

I don’t know if there are any more promo stops for QOS before Daniel shows up on the Tonight Show this Friday (10/17) - but it will be interesting to see the progression of his injury. The last two stops he’s been wearing just a “brace” and not a full sling.

Another thing is after surgery he’ll probably need some physical therapy - how long? Who knows? That will probably cut into some time for making or promoting films.

He’ll be pretty busy the next couple months - be interesting to see how he holds up (looks wise).

the man’s falling apart slowly, everyone can see that

I don’t think Bond is a crazy move for him. He is just an average supporting actor. Look how he fades into the background in Road to Perdition and other more talented actors parts are more memorable. With Bond he has hit the jackpot. He has been trying to break into Hollywood for years. Bond is his ticket to the leading man parts he has been craving.

I think he takes his clothes off and does nudity just for the attention. The viewer then sees that there is nothing behind his eyes, no mystery, they can see him both emotionally and physically. Other actors can do full frontals and not lose their air of mystery i.e. Kate winslet, Eva Green, Ralph Fiennes - they are still interesting you have seen them physically but not emotionally, they are not allowing you to see into their minds.

Sorry, long post.

The injury is a labral tear - a rip in the tissues around the shoulder joint. And yes there will be physiotherapy. Because of doctor’s orders, he’s been forced to take a long break from work. Well if he needs looking after me and Kitty are willing and very able!! lol! ;)

I had the same injury brought on by excessive working out and then the final straw was that i tripped and fell.

Took months of therapy and i wore a sling for about month and half.

It hurts like a bugger though.

As for his acting, i agree with both 83 and 86..he got lucky with Bond otherwise he would still be struggling for lead roles although sometimes the best ones are the supporting ones.

I’m sure he loves the perks and attention it’s bringing him especially a 4 million quid home!

Doing full frontals is an art form, a person may look good but it’s the entrancement that they can do it with..I’m on the fence when it comes to him.

Yet to be fully moved by him as in the scenes he has done already have been a little contrived.

i see madonna announced officially they are divorcing and pity about Sam Taylor Wood and husband too..

marriage is only for poets and film makers..no one can be in love forever..can they?

i dont think Daniel will get married again

He’s flying to LA I think now

you right the talk here in LA is oscar nominations for liev schrieber for best supporting actor, ed zwick for best director - maybe, defiance for best picture-maybe. but unless daniel is absolutely brilliant dont even count on best actor nomination for him. dont forget; defiance will come out after QOS. many of those on the nominating/voting committee may not be able to get past the james bond image.
the problem for ed zwick is the spike lee factor.
although the film miracle at st anna has failed miserably there are those in hollywood who feel that spike is owed. a black director has never won best director and it’s past time. they may give him the oscar for his past work more so than miracle at st anna. i hear things and i listen to what people here are saying.

even if he is not nominated, i think that daniel craig will show up at the oscars if for no other reason than to honor the memory of tuvia bielski. many in the jewish community here would be very upset if he did not attend the oscars.

I hear “WAR” movies are not doing so well at this time. People want happy movies. I certainly hope Daniel does well in this movie. He deserves it.

daniel lover @ 10/15/2008 at 12:24 pm

Daniel should have laser therapy instead of physiotherapy. Physiotherapy takes so long and laser therapy heals the body faster without so much pain. I know, I had both done. Hope he feels better soon, the poor guy.

Yes I did hear it from many people her in LA avout Liev, Daniel’s performance is less than a knockout according to people who have seen it.
What with atrocious Cruise movie coming out too, the war aspect is not the greatest seller at the moment especially at Christmas although the Bielski story is very uplifting but not a real shoo-in due to the “Zwick” factor. It could be his time though. Every dog and all that….

I think he will be at the Oscars maybe to support the film as well as the cast/story.
His lack of presence would be noticed.

#98 - I think Judi’s is excellent - actually had me fooled for a second. Daniel’s is good as well!

tigerlily @ 10/15/2008 at 2:16 pm

Apparently Eva Mendes is dying to work with Daniel. I bet that will go down well in the Craig/Mitchell household!! lol!! ;)
My husband loves Eva Mendes so maybe that would be one Daniel Craig film he wouldn’t mind going to see!!
