Daniel Craig Gets Rugged in Russia

Pictured in the background is The Moscow Kremlin, which includes four palaces, four cathedrals, and the enclosing Kremlin Wall with Kremlin towers. The complex serves as the official residence of the President of Russia.

according to one casting agent i talked to by choosing bond, defiance, and possibly hadrian daniel has sent a signal that he is no longer interested in taking a roll in an indie film. he’s been there done that so to speak.. daniel wants to move onward and upward.
although why daniel chose james bond is also a mystery to this agent. the only reason this man can fathom is that daniel thought he would be able to do what sean connery did. move from james bond to bigger/better projects and perhaps win the recognition for his work that sean has. as for daniel’s performance in defiance; the reality is that people are talking about liev schreiber’s performance not his.
if this is the case this agent thinks that what daniel should do is try for films directed by martin scorcese, clint eastwood, or some other director of their caliber. that is if he wants to develope his talent and become thought of in the industry as more than just james bond. i should tell you that this agent has been in the business for almost 25 years and more than knows what he’s talking about.
as for his career choices, it’s thought that he’s consulting satsuki before he makes any career move. so take it from there.
to 102:
Working in small budget/indie films was is bread and butter and not something he should think of as “been there and done that’…his talent resonates in these types of films. He supports the BFI and there are many talented directors out there and he should back up what he professes.
He needs to keep his eye on the ball and not to focus entirely on becoming a “major leading man”..does he have the scope and indeed the talent?
If he is being advised soley by Satsuki, then he needs to widen that curve.
He does have an agent, (and a great one at that!) so I think he runs scripts by Satsuki (indeed I have hears she scouts for him) rather than lean 100% on her experiences.
If he isn’t then he is a fool.

Madame Tussauds wanted to make him with the shorts but changed him to weaing a Tom Ford Tux.
Can you imagine?
What do you mean “lean on Satsuki’s experience” What experience? As far as I know she does not have a talented bone in her body and from those photos she seems to have alot of bones.
to 105
lol..she does have the most important bone….
Daniel…;)
agreed..what experience?
Would he be foolish enough to jeopardize his career on the gf’s wacko advice. That seems very buttdumb Why is she an authority?

Thanks for the link and for sharing!
Because she thinks she is.
ooohhhh Eva Mendez and Daniel Craig..now that’s a hot couple!!!
I could see him fallling for her big time…
yes, yes, but you have understand that this casting agent thinks that daniel no longer wants to do them; at least not at this time. my friend says this is not unusal in the business. actors who start out in the indie films suddenly decide, for what ever reason, that they no longer want to do them. these actors decide that they want to do important roles in bigger films by directors with the clout to get them noticed by the academy. directors like scorcese, eastwood, etc. kevin spacey is one of those actors.
for the record he can still support the bfi and its directors without appearing in the films. i’m afraid that he’s appeared to have made his choice and we’ll just have to live with it. as for whether or not he has the scope or the talent only time will tell.
you’re right, satsuki does scout out projects for him. projects that will help, in her mind, get what he wants. apparently, she was the one who convinced him to give up blindness in favor of defiance.
If Madame Tussauds did Daniel in his swimming suit, it would be too much for the fans and there would be some wax melting.
it sounds like he wants to be a major player on the Hollywood scene, thats probably why he’s picked zwick over meirelles
maybe the reason why he can’t find any scripts at the moment is because he is looking for the big action leading man scripts
acting wise it really looks like he is overstretching too much and it is exposing his weaknesses
his perf. in Infamous, the Invasion, golden compass, FoaF and again in Defiance have been lacklustre
satsuki is just his pet dog she is only fetching the sticks/bones he asks for
she is giving him what he wants.
daniel’s lack of acting skills is why my agent friend thinks he should look for a supporting part in an eastwood, scorsese, or some other top director’s film. there he could learn from the best teachers in the business. some of the actors who’ve worked with these directors have gone on to win oscars-which is what daniel wants to do. mind you, in hindsight, it was a good idea he got out of blindness. that film hasn’t done well. he’ll have more exposure in defiance. and it is true that ed zwick is establishing himself as a major director.
as for the girl friend, maybe satsuki should step aside and let a professional agent do the work. gene hackman, on the great actors in the business, has always said the best advice he can give to to actors new to the business is to “find a good agent and work together to find good projects”,

Well I’d rather that said than Daniel saying “Yes, Defiance was crap but I love the house it bought me”…
(take on what Michael Caine said about Jaws 3!)…
Daniel DOES have a great agent, God knows what Satsuki is there doing although this is her career move. If Daniel gets an Oscar nod for Defiance, she will be there lapping up the praise which in turn, will make him dependent on her more.
Seems like she is becoming bit like a muse or a mentor for him in a strange way. Very dependent on her it seems.

He talks about Defiance and taking his clothes off…no mention of Satsuki but talks a little about his daughter.

look, as the person who finds projects for daniel, satsuki has access to some interesting material. but she’s no professional. paul newman made no secret of the fact that he always consulted his wife, joanne woodward, before accepting a project. but there is a huge difference between joanne woodward and satsuki mitchell. joanne is a great stage and film actor in her own right; and the work she has done on tv is equally brilliant. do i think daniel should consult satsuki? sure. do i think daniel should let her find project for him? no way!!
Clearly he values her opinion and feels she is capable of choosing good scripts for him or he would not have her in that role. Many wives are involved in their husbands jobs. I think he is so besotted with her that his judgement is off and he may take her advice regardless of what he may think becasue he feels she has significant industry experience.
Maybe Satsuki has more talent and knowledge of the business than you give her credit for. None of of us really know what she’s capable off, she may surprise us all.
If anyone thinks that Satsuki is troubled whether she is liked or dislked in the industry (and I’m sure she has contact with many rude people herself, as there are many many of them in the business) and whether she is voted the most elegant, beautiful or ugliest woman in the world……..think again.
She has a job, well paid and does have a say and impact on his choices (as well as the personal side)…to be in that industry, any form of it, you must have tough skin.
I wonder what she’ll say when she brings him down professionally because of her stupid choices
To #124
How do you know she’ll make stupid choices?? As i said before no one knows what she is capable off or how talented and knowledgeable she is. I think it’s about time people gave Satsuki a chance and a break.
