Blake Lively & Penn Badgley: Vote Obama!
McCainFreeWhiteHouse.org is a new site that has been launched encouraging young people to warn their parents about John McCain and to persuade them to vote for Barack Obama.
The site just posted a video featuring Gossip Girl stars (and real-life couple) Blake Lively and Penn Badgley. And I’m pretty sure that’s American Teen’s Hannah Bailey! Anybody recognize anyone else? Watch the vid below! The narration goes:
Talk to your parents about John McCain.
For my sake? Please?
Vote for Barack Obama.
Before it’s too late.
The ad, brought to you by MoveOn.org, was helmed by director Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith).

Oh and trish…they arn’t saying get more information before you vote…if that was the case then why say VOTE OBAMA. STFU.
The Ironic part is when the guy says are you voting for him because people your age are voting for him….Are they serious….OH the irony.

You know who else was “intelligent, articulate, and aspiring leader” Hilter. No I’m not saying Obama is the next Hilter but you can not vote for a guy just because he’s all of these things….A president needs leadership EXPERIENCE not just an aspiring leader…he hasn’t lead **** yet.
I love Blake & Penn, but I have no desire to vote for someone whom I’m being told to vote for. I base my values on my political standing rather than anything else. My personal opinion is that Obama is BAD news and brings nothing new to the White House. I’ve done plenty of research thanks
the more idiot celebs order who to vote for, the more we will vote for the opposite.
what imbecilic arrogance that these teen nitwits are lecturing their parents [just like idiot sarah silverman went to FLA to lecture seniors on how they're dumb to vote Mac]
this obama frenzy is as scary as the bush frenzy was, it is blind and mindless
obama is a scumbag - you people who think he is the answer are putting this country into a boatload of misery, he knows nothing, he is evil, he will and has overthrown every position whenever it serves his ambition.
obama is a product - manufactured and packaged by his handlers. he fools people because he knows how to conceal his true self with capable language. people are scared and want a magic solution. obama is not it. he will be more misery.
What a way to lose all your McCain supporting viewers. They just lost what little credibility they had. No longer a fan…
Haha, I thought this was really clever and funny. You guys need to chill out. Also, don’t get your panties in such a twist about celebrities encouraging people to vote for certain candidates. Everyone has the right to support a candidate and try to get others to do so as well. I know I go around telling people to vote for Obama, and I’m no expert (although I am well informed on the issues and care about the future). I assume these people have also done their homework and want to share their knowledge. If you disagree, then just ignore it. CHILL!!
Also, it’s BS to say that Obama has no experience and that he’s stupid. Kiki, were YOU ever president of the Harvard Law Review? I think that automatically makes Obama smarter than 98% of the country, and that’s what we need in a President. He’s spent his life organizing people and committees to improve the lives of the less fortunate.
Also, I really don’t think that someone who was a POW for 5 years should have his finger on the button. Hello, post-traumatic stress disorder, anyone? Somebody drops a book on the floor and McCain jumps a mile high and hits the nuclear weapon button. No thanks.
PS–I am surprised how many right-wingers there are on this blog! Jeez. Well, maybe most of the liberals are out working hard to improve the country while you guys sit with your thumbs up your asses looking up celebrities…
Hate to break it to you all, but Obama is going to win, guaranteed. People have wised up to McSAME. Sorry folks.
And with that, I’m off to continue my graduate school program.
The thing is, and lets face it-if those stupid kids are not for Obama, they simply won’t have jobs the next season. ahahhaah they are so pathetic. Get your facts together, they do not even know what Obama’s ideas stand for. Um…Madonna and someone else oh Opra are for Obama…um we should be for him too… Um that’s all we know. ahahahaha. Idiots!!
this ad is disgraceful. this is the epitome of what obama stands for. senseless and hurtful attacks. i believe i stand with many americans when i say that i am down right sick of the negative ads, from both parties!
@teresa… You are an inspiration! Very well stated.
It’s pretty clear Obama is going after the uneducated by using these tactics to get people to vote for him. I hope in the next debate McCain forces Obama to disclose his real relationship with Ayers and ACORN. But knowing Obama, he will say “I’m not going to answer that”, and then INSTRUCT the moderator to go to the next question.
Well they are just as qualified as their candidate of choice.
I’m more worried about Obama’s friends than a celeb telling me to vote for him. I seriously doubt either of these Moron’s even know what this man (Obama) stands for. This is a celebrity site, and we all chose to be on here. I talked to my parents because they have been around for 50 years of politics, and I made a great decision. Obama is the same Democratic polics that have been around for years. I don’t understand why people don’t see that. He isn’t the solution, he is just a great motivational speaker that is very intelligent.

THIS ELECTION IS MUCH TOO IMPORTANT TO KEEP QUIET!
OBAMA/BIDEN ‘08
holy ****. Im tired of the negative comments about other people opinions however the point of this is not to bash other peoples opinions its to voice ur own. I hate how the country was run by bush! IT IS HORRIBLE! now with the finacial problem and all i think a democrat deserves a chance to run america and even though everyone thinks obama is out to get the young people, the stuff he says is what he believes in and honestly its bullshit that everyone is upset about what 2 celebraties said. Who cares if ur not even gonna listen?
i would rather have them urging young people just to vote and make their own desicion instead of telling them to vote for Obama. These celebrities bug me…especially oprah! I’m from Canada and im kind of glad that i dont have to deal with all of this when i vote
awww makes me love blake and penn even more<3
anyone who states palin having more experience then obama is a complete douche.
SHUT UP EVERYONE!
obama is the man(:
McBush isnt gonna win,
stop hating cause your not celebs who are amaziing.
and no ones gonna vote for a president with sarah palin as VP!~
Hollywood needs to be cut off and sent to the middle of the ocean.
WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT YOU IDIOTS THINK!!!!
# 67 “anyone who states palin having more experience then obama is a complete douche.” and #68 “McBush isnt gonna win,
stop hating cause your not celebs who are amaziing.”………um yeah, prime examples of the “intelligent” people voting for Obama.
Oh, and #64
What is the point of printing that list? That alot more celebrities are voting for Obama than McCain? Well, that must mean that Obama is the better candidate…..because celebrities are so much smarter than the general public. LMAO
god people do have minds of their own i think its so wrong celebrities asking people to vote who they want in….
Do yourselves a favor and do not allow yourselves to think that either of these men are above saying what they think you want to hear in order to get themselves elected. Promising the world is the nature of the game. Take some time to look at their track records prior to this campaign began, base your decision on who stands more for what YOU personally believe in. Debates and political ads mean NOTHING - they are just campaign-time PR.
I’m sorry, but anyone who actually uses a ridiculous moniker like McBush or Nobama obviously hasn’t done any of this. This election is not the time to be lazy about educating yourself.
#71…I was pointing out that it’s not unusual for celebrities to be outspoken about who they’re voting for and I have never understood why people get so annoyed about it. Honestly, it would not bother me if the same actors voiced their support for McCain because it’s been said time and time again that a celebrity’s endorsement of a candidate never sways individual voters or has any overall effect on the outcome of an election. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being involved in a political campaign - even if you are well known.
