Blake Lively & Penn Badgley: Vote Obama!

McCainFreeWhiteHouse.org is a new site that has been launched encouraging young people to warn their parents about John McCain and to persuade them to vote for Barack Obama.

The site just posted a video featuring Gossip Girl stars (and real-life couple) Blake Lively and Penn Badgley. And I’m pretty sure that’s American Teen’s Hannah Bailey! Anybody recognize anyone else? Watch the vid below! The narration goes:

Talk to your parents about John McCain.
For my sake? Please?
Vote for Barack Obama.
Before it’s too late.

The ad, brought to you by MoveOn.org, was helmed by director Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith).

Wow, people. I agree that the thing Zac Efron said about voting is very good, not endorsing one particular candidate, but voting in general. I say wow though for all the hate that is here. People are saying McCain is on crack and Obama will ruin America. Okay, both of those are false statements. Why can’t we just respect eachothers opinions? I know it is easier said than done, but I do agree with the people that say encouraging voting altogether is the right thing to do!

Everyone needs to chill, it’s a joke. it’s meant to be taken light heartedly. No one is trying to force you to vote for anybody- they are just voicing their opinions, which I see nothing wrong with. They are just trying to find new creative and comedic ways to get people interested in politics and go vote- I think the ad was well made and is a funny parody.

And if anyone is stupid enough to vote one way just because a celebrity is voting for them, they shouldn’t be voting in the first place, and their vote has little meaning either way.

And i’m sorry Katie, but you have little substantial reasoning in your incredibly childish rant. Calling Obama a muslim and making fun of his name is not the right way to go about supporting a candidate- if anything it just makes McCain supporters look bad, and you aren’t helping your cause at all. Do you think Obama chose his name or how he was brought up or who his parents were? Those are not the things that qualify you to be president. What qualifies you is the person you are and the things you believe in, not your name or religion. Do you think that because his parents named him that he shouldn’t run for President? And because McCain served our country he has the right to be president? I think it goes a bit deeper then that- just because you were in the military doesn’t mean any soldier can run the country. And who cares what Obama wears? Do you really think he would be running for president of the United States if he had a problem with the flag or wasn’t “patriotic”?

This is to everyone no matter who you support: IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A POINT, MAKE ONE THAT MATTERS- LIKE POLICIES- INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON THE SUPERFICIAL AND IRRELEVANT
