Cute Katie. Very unattractive outfit. Perhaps without the lace top it would have worked. Reviews are not favorable - for Katie or for the play. She was out of her league with the other actors and can’t compare with Tom’s ex.

I have to admit, this oufit is just awful! The pieces don’t go together and it’s not very flattering to her figure. Why do actresses and singers think that they can start a clothing line? Victoria Beckham’s line sucks too.

The outfit is sh*teous. Just as sh*teous as her career. She isn’t much of a designer or much of an actress. Katie ought to stay home with her kid……come to think of it, she’s not much of a mother either.

From Clive Barnes, senior theater critic for the NY Post:

“…too much of the acting is two-dimensional, at best.”

“Lithgow starts in a sunny, benign fashion, but eventually finds himself screeching alongside Holmes…”.

From Terry Teachout, senior theater critic for the WSJ:

“The presence in the cast of Mrs. Tom Cruise is doubtless responsible for the fact that “All My Sons” is currently the highest-grossing play on Broadway. Those who go to see it on her account, however, are in for a sad surprise. Like most of the pretty young screen things who have made Broadway debuts in recent seasons, Ms. Holmes is a creature of the camera who doesn’t know the first thing about stage acting. Anyone misguided enough to make her professional stage debut on Broadway opposite Mr. Lithgow and Ms. Wiest in an Arthur Miller play is, of course, asking for trouble, and Ms. Holmes gets it in spades. Unable to fill a large theater with the sound of her voice, she is reduced to dull ranting. Perhaps she might have come off better in a different show, but in this one she looks like a well-meaning amateur.”

LOL…” RESCUE 59 ” AND ” MARIA ( SHORTY )….her pants or bottom half of the jumpsuit, is ridiculous looking….I would have been ashamed to say, ” it is from my line “……Now, I bet that most women waiting for this ” stellar line “, will run to their nearest retail store and buy something else…..The pictures of katie up close, are pretty of her, and she is finally smiling and laughing….She also seems to be happy for once…..Maybe Tom was still at the Carlyle, with the blonde woman, having a dinner or something senister……By him NOT showing up,he could say ” I did not want to take away from from Kate’s big important night “….That way he could do whatever his heart desires, and did not have to worry about Katie checking up on him……….Katie needs to leave her ” designer line clothes on the line”.. ( for scrap ).

They’re (EW and USA Today) ’soft serve ice cream for the masses’ when they speak positively of Holmes only, #46.

Sorry, EW ddin’t like her, their only reference, “Broadway neophyte Holmes. After a painfully awkward first scene, she relaxes a bit;..” Woohoo, she relaxes A BIT means she is wooden. Not a good review.

USA Today: “Katie Holmes’ one-note debut in ‘All My Sons’ is a little off-key” “At best, she exhibits a girlish exuberance that could serve her well in certain stage roles, provided she finds a director who can ease her obvious self-consciousness and get her to focus on the often-intricate process of character development..”

The above are BAD reviews, but they are soft serve papers for the masses.

The papers that count on Broadway are the New York Theatre Review and the New York TImes. Both papers hated Katie Holmes and said so. You may need a dictionary to understand the snarky verbage used to condemn her performance, but condemn her hey did!
