Misconceptions of Obama Fuel Republican Campaign

Misconceptions of Obama Fuel Republican Campaign

Some Republican supporters were interviewed after a rally in Ohio by Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin. Here are some of the misconceptions they had of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama:

– “I’m afraid if he wins, the Black will take over.”

– “When you’ve got a Negro running for President, you need a first stringer. He’s definitely a second stringer.”

– “He seems like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I believe Palin is filled with the Holy Spirit and I believe she’s going to bring honesty and integrity to the White House.”

– “He must support terrorists. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it must be a duck. And that to me, is Obama.”

– “Just the whole Muslim thing. A lot of people forgot about 9/11. I don’t know, it’s just a little unnerving.”

– “Obama and his wife. I’m afraid they could be anti-White.”

– “I don’t like the fact that he thinks us white people are trash. Because we’re not!”

In regards to Sarah Palin: I as a liberal college educated American feel that I deserve a politician who is indeed more inteligent than I. I do not want a President that I can sit down and drink a beer with. We’ve already tried that for the last 8 years, and we’ve failed miserably. It is time for Americans to stop voting for the person they can relate to and start voting for the canidate best suited for the position.

I realize that I do not mention McCain. But let’s face it, the angry old man will likely die in office. Then we will be left with an ignorant lip stick wearing pitbull. Remember have your pets spaid and neutered.

The problem here is the all this people can’t accept the fact of a black man is so close to be the nex presidente of US , so they call Obama Terrortist muslim, so ignorant and embarrassing to be a american.
more than ever I want Obama to be the next president of united states

Michelle is nasty:

Oh! Because a clone of Dickhead Bush and that gun-loving anti-feminist ***** ARE White House material???

Just the fact that you call him Osama shows how much of a stupid **** you are!

You need to STFU and go read a book or something…

Once again some people (you know who you are) are weighing, that have no clue. First of all unfortunately, this election is about race. Some people will vote or not vote for Obama because of his race. Some people wil vote for McCain because he is white and they will never vote for a black president. I VOTED FOR MCCAIN….WHY??? more experience than Obama…period…end of the story. Second reason…it is utterly ridiculous to think that Obama will not tax businesses(one of which I own), that make less than $250,000…when over half the people in this country do not pay taxes…THAT IS FACT!! I do not like Obama’s dodging and ducking questions concerning Bill Ayers and ACORN. Last night he FINALLY had the guts to address the questions, but too little too late for me. He is too perfect and too slick. Noone is that perfect or slick. Another reason, people will vote for Obama is because they THINK change will happen. Maybe, it will, but it will not be much and it will not be positive, that is for sure. As for those of you who do not live in the United States…be quiet…..it is not your election. Everytime your country gets in trouble or needs something…..your country’s politicians look to the United States for help and we help. SO SHUT UP!!! Now, I have said my piece, and will back to work, which real middle class people do, unlike Obama who claims to middle class and is not…..

WHAT A SHAME! IF I WAS ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH IT I WOULD KICK THAT OLD MAN’S/OLD ladies right in the mouth! That goes to show that some whites still think we are living in the 50’s 60’s when African Americans were being hosed down and hung! BUT WE ARE NOT! YES RACISM STILL EXISTS BUT THIS “small” town in OHIO is HICK AND PREJUDICE! None of those comments were positive! ALL NEGATIVE! SAD but True! That is why I moved from OHIO because they are so prejudice! I now reside in the south and this was the best move that I made! THIS TOWN LOOKS LIKE A CULT! “Children of the corn” boooo to them…they better get ready cause a change is comin!

“No one is as blind as he (or she) who will not see.” Folks who are scared about a man of color being our president obviously don’t know that he was raised by his white grandparents and white mother, that he used foodstamps as a boy, that he lived without a dad, that he is a slef-made man as opposed to the son of a Navy 4-star admiral, and that he attended an amazing southside chicago church for years BEFORE he started to run for office, which makes HIM a christian as much as Palin is one and which means he is not a muslim. NOT that that should matter in regards to the separation of church and state when it comes to a president’s faith!

I just hope all thge church-going believers don’t buy into the BS rhetoric that the Republican party is the christian party, because they are NOT. Caring for the sick and the poor and the orphaned is as much a christian virtue as protecting innocent life, and the Democrats are more about those issue than big busienss-based Republicans. Besides, how pro-life can you be if you’re for saving unborn babies but then sending them off to war to die or kill innocent civilians once they are grown-ups?!!

Lastly, Obama is right-on when it comes to thinking about our huge need for energy independence, a more responsible life style for americans in the future, and the need for education for all young people.

Poor senator McCain - all he can suggest is offshore drilling (that’ll help for about 1 year), stayiung in Iraq, and taxing health benefits.

And let’sa not even get into the emancipating psychology for America’s kids of color if and whenj Obama beocmes president. Finally - a black male role model who is not an actor, rapper or basketball player!!!! G’Obama!

154# one hundred percent CORRECT!!!!!

You bleeding heart liberals never cease to amaze me…You can’t see the forest for the trees…Osama Obama is just that….a muslim, terrorist loving half breed that plays the race card whenever it suits his purpose. He has abolutely no idea in the world what sacrifice is…Has he ever given up anything in his life for anyone else…Oh, I guess he was too good for the military. Sen McCain knows what sacrifice is and he knows what a fight is and this country in in foir the fight of it’s life if you damn liberals don’t open your eyes and see that all osama obama is is a professional politician with his own agenda. He doesn’ t give a damn about this country…He refuses to respect the flag and the National Anthem by placing his hand over his heart…and as a career military man I find that totally appalling. He’s only in this for himself. Maybe this country does need change but not the type he talks about…the only change you’ll see is the change at the bottom of your pocket after he taxes us all to death and that’s all we have left is change….
So wake up people….open your eyes….McCain the the ONLY logical choice for this country. His selfless, passionate love of country should inspire all you left wingers out there…How do you feel knowing that your canditate has the official backing of Hezbollah…
So, call me a racist or whatever you want…I don’t care….That’s all this country needs is a half breed president with a rag head name that has no clue in the world what he’s doing….now, doesn’t that make ya wanna have group hugs and sing kumbayah

perhaps you should post the “man on the street” interview that howard stern played on his show the other day. they interviewed black people about who they were gonig to vote for…they all said obama. then the interviewer asked if they were more for obama bc he’s prolife or bc he wants to finish the war in iraq (both mccain positions). they all AGREED with mccain’s policies (bc they THOUGHT they were obama’s and ALSO SAID THAT SARAH PAILN WOULD MAKE A GOOD VICE PRESIDENT! so stupidity is on both sides, thank you very much. you have to be living under a rock to not know sarah palin is not running with obama. they are only voting for him bc he’s black…they HAVE NO CLUE what he stands for or even who he’s running with!!

I feel sorry for the ignorant people out there

congratulations to that brave man advocating for Obama on the midle of this racist trash

What the hell are you smoking dude?

Here is some light reading for those who can’t think for themselves: http://scaredmonkeys.com/category/barack-obama/ & http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2006/12/barack_hussein.html but I’m guessing you won’t even go there & the lings will probably be removed so that others can’t see the real issue that American’s are dealing with.

Blind leading the blind.

and there in lies the problem for the u.s.a.
near half of this country are unbelievably ignorant and fearful
if mccain/palin?? somehow win this election
it will pale my shock that g.w. bush could actually be re’elected?
it may very well be time to abandon country…
rather than think the u.s. can be saved

I wasnt going to look at the video or comment, but I just wanted to see for myself what the good people of this country has to say, my heart is truely broken! I mean you know they hatred between blacks and whites as well still exsist but OMG! This is indeed a sad day in america.I was mixed on who to vote for but now I feel more like voting for obama more than ever.I hate racism! These people cant be christians,God doesnt promote or put up with hatred!!!!!

Cindy says @ 10/16/2008 at 11:01 am

1) if Jared posted a video where ppl discuss why they are afraid of Palin or only voting for Obama b/c he’s black….what would that solve. I’m sure you as americans are smart enough to know that there are black people voting for Obama because he’s black and there are white people voting for McCain because he’s white.

But that only makes Americans on both sides of the fence look unintelligent. Whether a video showing either of this is shown on this site is irrelevant because WE ALL KNOW IT EXISTS

2) why not be angry that americans and quite frankly a lot of the world is still racially congested. That there are people on both sides still using race as their be all and end all.

3) LOOK AT THE FACTS AND VOTE FOR THE FACTS vote for who will truly bring america out of its current direction and into a better direction.

I’m not american but im hoping the majority of those that vote, vote based on sound judgement and real issues.

FU*CK RACE,

this kind of rhetoric is not “fueling” the republican campaign. I am an independent voting for McCain. Just like there are right wing idiots, there are left wing idiots blindly voting for Obama for illogical reasons.

Step up your game Jared. Quit promoting this anti-McCain propaganda. You look foolish.

There are educated people who lean to the right, the left and in the middle.

Yellow Rose @ 10/16/2008 at 11:04 am

I honestly think I’m in love with you DOC! Hooray!

These are plants….not real Republicans.

Lovely Jared, quote the morons. Way to stir things up. These idiots don’t represent everyone who questions Obama and his quest for the presidency, BTW.

Okay-

I am a Republican and this is EMBARASSING! It is embarassing that there are people out there that will state these ridiculous claims to back up their support for John McCain. I honestly do respect Obama, eventhough I’m not voting for him.

That being said — ALL of you people from other countries who consistently insult America and its intelligence, with the risk of being completely immature, F**K YOU! Funny how so many insult America and Americans but so many can’t wait to abandon their own countries to live here.

Also, if you had any intelligence at all, you would realize that the media is in the tank for Obama BIG TIME. So it stands to reason that they will pick out members of the Republican crowd that would more than likely make ridiculous statements like this. Older members of the party, members of older predominately white rural parts of the country as well. They all seem to be stuck in the past and have fears of any kind of change, especially regarding to color.

This is a small sample of Republicans and Americans. I find it DUMB of you to judge America as a whole based on the comments of a few.

Doc I have one thing to say to you: Bahhh! Bahh! Stupid sheep. Go follow your military shepherd. Logic seems to be one thing an ignorant military man like yourself lacks. Think for yourself. Even inteligent military men and women support Obama, not the military-industrial complex and the Republican party.

I am not a bleeding heart liberal; I’m just educated. I am liberal because I am educated. Conservative beliefs led to some of the world’s greatest human rights disasters: The Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide, Darfur, the Hutus and Tutsis, and even the Salem witch trials. Go ahead and stick to your conservative ways.

I feel the above remark that we can tolerate a dumb VP but not a smart black person is a stupid remark! Obama again presented himself at the debate last night how a leader should present himself. McCain again presented himself as an angry old man. What’s with McCain writing on note paper when Obama talks? He seems so frustrated that he needs something to take his anger out on.

i cant believe the racism… its so sad that ppl still think like that.
I beg you all to vote for Obama, lets vote for change!

@djn,

These ARE real Republicans, and some DINO’s, who are in every nook and cranny of our society (but mainly in the Appalachian Mountains and on rural farms). There are people who truly, genuinely think and feel what these people have expressed. And it’s interesting that such a high proportion of them have only a high school education or less and have never been anywhere but their own small towns, and who believe that people like Rush Limbaugh speak the truth.
