The trailer for the 2009 Nickelodeon Original Movie Spectacular! has been released!
Here’s the movie’s synopsis: Nikko (Nolan Gerard Funk) is the next rock superstar and he plans to conquer the world with his band, Alloy. Courtney’s (Tammin Sursok) world revolves around her sequin-filled show choir, Spectacular. But when Alloy kicks Nikko out of the band and Spectacular loses their best male singer to a rival choir, Courtney convinces Nikko to join Spectacular. Will Nikko be the force that Spectacular needs to finally beat their rival choir, Ta-Da? Or will Nikko’s rock edge be too much for the glittery world of the show choirs? Get your jazz hands ready because this is going to be SPECTACULAR!

Im sick of all these movies. No matter how hard they try it won’t be near as good as High School Musical. Camp Rock sucked too. Demi was one of the only talented people in the movie. The only reason people watched it though were because of the Jonas Brothers and their sexy looks. In reality, they can’t act. I think this movie is going to turn out horrible too.

The voices sound good. Nolan Gerard Funk seems like a cool guy.
But come on, people! They’re NEVER gonna top HSM. It’s the same with CR, they’re trying to copy it and the outcome will be an okay movie, but in the end, they’ll never be as good as HSM, let alone beat it. HSM was pure magic. It brought the joy of musicals back to children. Now it’s already back, it’s not gonna be brought back AGAIN. Let’s be real.

I’ m looking forward to this. At least this isn’t a musical, like Camp Rock. HSM and American Mall were musicals. This and CR are performance-based so calm down. I really like AM and CR. I don’t wanna offend anyone, but the world doesn’t need anymore HSM! As much as I’m looking forward to this, I don’t a sequel. Nick doesn’t over-promote their stuff, unlike Disney who’s gone totally dairy (if you catch my drift). I totally agree with:

High School Musical may be a “copy-cat” but they brought it back to our generation of movies. They brought it back at the right time.They brought musicals back. No one can ever beat them.
Spectacular and The American Mall are trying to beat them and it’s stupid how they have it out right after the High School Musicals.
If you guys think HSM ’sucks’ then why is so popular? There’s a higher percentage of people that like it than for the people that don’t.
This movie is going to be exactly like HSM, no doubt about it. It’s set in the theater just like HSM was too.

More like Camp Rock than High School Musical, but with less famous people.
I mean, Camp Rock has same sort of moral: rockstar wannabe meets good girl who then shows him the way to follow his heart through music blahblahblah, then the two will bond and happily ever after catchy song in the end with the rest of the cast.

this movie was actually really good. and i like it because im in a show choir and this movies gives show choirs more credit, you know. we work hard and practice is tough, but its fun and a lot of people dont even think twice of choirs. some people dont even know what a show choir is. im happy theres finally a movie revolving around a show choir. its great! and i love nickelodeon. Spectacular! was so NOT a copy of hsm because its too different.
HSM was a rip-off of Grease. Hsm was too cliche and blah blah boring and annoying. Spectacular is different and the songs are catchy. but people are giving it negative reviews because of their assumptions and stereotypes. if theyr eally want to critisize Spectacular, they need to watch it.
Spectacular! was a mediocre movie. It was good but not that good though I have to say, I think its much better than that High School Musical crap. It has a better plot and music, (choreography sucks though) and not those kiddy stuff they show on Disney. HSM and CR shouldn’t be compared to Spectacular! though. They’re different movies.
Plus: Spectacular! ISN’T EVEN A MUSICAL. They don’t break out in singing and dancing. Its just a performance-based movie, better for older watchers than those Little Disney-devoted fans.

First of all this is not a copy cat of hsm! There is a hug difference between show choir and Theatre. A musical is a type of theatre and such. But a show choir is different. singer/dancers(which is what they are called) dont always play specific roles in a show, and they do many different costume changes with sequins baby dots and such. And they also compete against all other show choirs in the US. go to google and type in “show choir nationals” and watch the videos from there. Then attend a musical and yoiu will clearly see that they are both complete opposites. For people who dont know the difference between a musical and a show choir…you have no room to talk. Just because HSM and Spectacular! both have sing does not mean one is a rip off of the other and it does not mean that they are both the same!!!!
