Ellen DeGeneres voices her disapproval over Gov. Sarah Palin stance on banning gay marriage on a federel level.
On her talk show, which airs today, Ellen joked, “I told you all I’ve been watching CNN a whole lot lately. I’ve been watching it way too much I think because they’ve invited me to their Christmas party.
She continued, “I don’t know if you saw this, but Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Sarah Palin says she’s that in favor of a federal ban on gay marriage. Basically wants to change the constitution.
“So if you’re wondering, I’m sure you are, how I feel about this. I don’t like, I don’t like it. I don’t agree. Maybe it’s because I’m gay that I think we should all be equal. but I feel that we’re all equal.
“I don’t know what people are scared of maybe they think that their children will be influenced. I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just every where I looked heterosexuals and they did not influences. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn’t? Everyone dabbled, ya know?
“People are gonna be who they’re gonna be. And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.”

I Love you Ellen! Tell that b**ch what you think. I am straight and married and think it is a crime for people to tell others that they do not deserve the same happiness that they enjoy! Marriage should be between two people who love each other and want to make a family. Something is seriously wrong with people that want to stop love. We all need to learn love and tolerance for others different from ourselves, we have lots of problems in this world and we are only going to solve them if we all work together.

Unlike Palin, Obama is NOT for a federal ban on gay marriage. In fact, even McCain is against the ban. So to equate Palin’s stance with Obama’s on this issue is wrong.
Rach, you are misinformed. NOT all republicians are anti gay marriage. That is like saying they are for the war. Obviously, you are informed and just dumb. Shame on Ellen for stating her political views on air. Noone is against gay partnerships and they can have equal rights thru domestic partnerships..But the legal definition of marriage is bet, man and woman.
There is a distinct difference between not supporting gay “marriage” and a constitutional ban like Palin. Obama/Biden does support civil unions which recognizes all the same rights and privileges of a traditional “marriage”.

obama may not approve of gay marriage but unlike palin he does not believe that it is his place to make it illegal. i can not stand this woman and nothing, and i mean nothing would ever get me to vote for mccain, because a vote for him is basically a vote for her to be president, since he is SO not gunna last 4 years/.

i totally agree!!!! i think it is appauling that people think gay marriage should be banned! its just as bad as racism as its just another form of discrimination. im shocked that parents think it is ok to raise their children to be homophobic.
