Ellen DeGeneres voices her disapproval over Gov. Sarah Palin stance on banning gay marriage on a federel level.
On her talk show, which airs today, Ellen joked, “I told you all I’ve been watching CNN a whole lot lately. I’ve been watching it way too much I think because they’ve invited me to their Christmas party.
She continued, “I don’t know if you saw this, but Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Sarah Palin says she’s that in favor of a federal ban on gay marriage. Basically wants to change the constitution.
“So if you’re wondering, I’m sure you are, how I feel about this. I don’t like, I don’t like it. I don’t agree. Maybe it’s because I’m gay that I think we should all be equal. but I feel that we’re all equal.
“I don’t know what people are scared of maybe they think that their children will be influenced. I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just every where I looked heterosexuals and they did not influences. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn’t? Everyone dabbled, ya know?
“People are gonna be who they’re gonna be. And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.”

She was raised by heterosexuals, she was raped before. Many people in this world has been violated, but that doesn’t mean that they should be gay though. People that endure such a tragic event like that should seek counseling. I have nothing against homosexuals, but I agree with Sarah Palin about gay marriage. It should be outlawed.
Palin also said during an interview — and also during the debate — that she wants the VP slot to have much broader powers over the US Senate. I just couldn’t believe my ears. This “interpretation” of the US Constitution, so she says, would give the VP slot more power to get the goals and objectives of the president realized. That, as another poster said recently, is totalitarianism. Keep in mind, that the US Senate has to approve by a majority vote, of the president’s appointment of any Supreme Court Justice. Sorry, but this woman just doesn’t have both of her oars in the water.

I have a news flash for you: one VP candidate saying he and his candidate are against gay marriage does not equal a federal ban on gay marriage. It’s a system of checks and balances, and the real power (veto or not) is divided among the President, the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Not everyone wanted to be a flaming homo like you and not everyone wants to kiss a girl like the media throws in our faces constantly pushing the gay agenda. Pathetic. And for the record, banning gay marriage on a federal level is NOT against the Constitution. THe COnstitution protects marriage between a man and a woman.
Get civilly committed and expand the rights to include the same as marriage. But don’t call it a marriage because that is NOT what it is.

Sarah Palin is not trying to change the constitution. She is trying to UPHOLD the constitution. I understand Ellen’s frustration… but the law is the law.

No, LadyDelish, she is trying to change the US Consitution; in more ways than one. I don’t have anything against Palin, but it’s already been determined that she violated state ethics laws, violated the trust of her constituents, and abused her power. There’s more revelations coming out every day. Her popularity in Alaska has dropped 20 percentage points in the past 8 weeks. That’s quite a big drop in such a short time. Seems that this “anti-corruption and fiscal responsibility” platform she ran on was just more political BS.
There is no constitutional right for two gay people to get married. Ellen is wrong.
