Ellen DeGeneres voices her disapproval over Gov. Sarah Palin stance on banning gay marriage on a federel level.
On her talk show, which airs today, Ellen joked, “I told you all I’ve been watching CNN a whole lot lately. I’ve been watching it way too much I think because they’ve invited me to their Christmas party.
She continued, “I don’t know if you saw this, but Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Sarah Palin says she’s that in favor of a federal ban on gay marriage. Basically wants to change the constitution.
“So if you’re wondering, I’m sure you are, how I feel about this. I don’t like, I don’t like it. I don’t agree. Maybe it’s because I’m gay that I think we should all be equal. but I feel that we’re all equal.
“I don’t know what people are scared of maybe they think that their children will be influenced. I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just every where I looked heterosexuals and they did not influences. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn’t? Everyone dabbled, ya know?
“People are gonna be who they’re gonna be. And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.”

Didi, what makes heterosexual couples or individuals more fit to parent than homosexual couples or individuals!?! As long as the home provided the child is loving and nuturing, isn’t that all that matters!?!
Beckah and other opponents to gay marriage, while I understand that there are some people and religions that view marriage as a sacred institution, marriage is sanctioned by the state and the the states regulate marriage laws. That said, we all should have the same civil, political and legal rights. Equal protection from discrimination shouldn’t just include gender, religion and race. It should also include sexual orientation. Again, I understand that some people regard this as a moral or religious issue. But ultimately, marriage is state sanctioned, which means all citizens should be afforded the same rights, including the right to marry. Denial of that basic right is a civil rights violation.

No on gay marriage; yes on equal treatment

BIDEN: Absolutely positively. Absolutely no distinction from a legal standpoint between a same-sex and a heterosexual couple. Same-sex couples should be able to have visitation rights in the hospitals, joint ownership of property, life insurance policies, etc. That’s only fair.
Q: Governor, would you support expanding that beyond Alaska to the rest of the nation?
PALIN: Well, not if it goes closer and closer towards redefining the traditional definition of marriage between one man and one woman.
Q: Let’s try to avoid nuance. Do you support gay marriage?
BIDEN: No. Barack Obama nor I support redefining from a civil side what constitutes marriage. We do not support that. That is basically the decision to be left to faiths and people who practice their faiths the determination what you call it.
PALIN: My answer is the same as his and it is that I do not.
Newsflash, Bill Clinton was for a federal ban. Just like a lot of Democrats. Palin isn’t against civil unions which would give gay couples the same legal rights as married couples. Palin’s first move as Governor was to sign a bill that allowed gay couples to benefit from each other’s health plans. As usual, Hollywood liberals like Ellen are ignorant and biased. Why isn’t she bashing Clinton?

This is exactly what i love about ellen. She understands that just because she doesnt agree with Palin doesnt mean she has to be disrepectful or rude. Unlike the likes of Rosie, Rosanne and Lindsey. She always has a good attitude. I love her.
