The High School Musical hottie, who turned 21 this past Saturday, shared a little bit about High School Musical 3: Senior Year, his favorite birthday gift (it’s not from Vanessa!) and his plans for Halloween. And away we go…
JJ: What was your favorite prop from HSM3?
ZE: My favorite prop on set was a basketball. But my favorite one that I kept was Troy’s ring, his class ring.
JJ: You didn’t steal anything else from the set?
ZE: I tried! But the wardrobe is very strict, they keep tabs on everything.

ZE: Just Jared! Of course man, the only one. I check my email. That’s about it.
JJ: What was the first beer you had on your birthday?
ZE: My first birthday beer? (pauses) Whatever what was on tap. I honestly don’t know. It was in a glass…
JJ: What was your favorite birthday gift?
ZE: Ashley [Tisdale] got me an Indo Board! It’s a balance training tool… it kind of helps you with surfing.
JJ: What are your Halloween plans?
ZE: No plans yet. I’ll probably be handing out candy. (laughs)

Awww yay he reads justjared! I have a similar version of the indo board he’s talking about. It’s fun, but hurts your thighs after awhile (which is kinda sorta the point) since you’re practicing your balance for surfing.

The movie is awesome. Love Zac!! Him and V in the movie are just breath taking…truly beautiful. Those two have such great chemistry on and off screen.
When as Zac ever said what Vanessa has got him for his birthday and I can’t see why this one would be any different, I dare say he thinks the world of whatever it is that she got him and of course it would be special in it’s own way as it’s from his girlfriend so it’s natural that whatever every body else got hm was special including Ashle’s as after all i t was his 21st and Vanessa’s would be special but with a very different meaning behind it.
But ovioulsy people are going to make this out to be something and nothing again becuas he has singled out Ashley’s but when your put on the spot you think of the first thing and especially if it was a unusal gift they tend to stick in your mind.
But either way I’m glad that he got the day he wanted and enjoyed his 21st without to much hassle from the pap’s.
zac will never talk about personal things he shares with vanessa, and it seems like it is working very well for them, good luck to them. i think we fans are a bit nosy at times (just kidding)

Don’t get me wrong, but it’s nice to see he still retains his own identity. I’m gradually becoming a Zac Efron fan. It started when I saw him in a Firefly episode and that surprised me! He seems like a pretty cool guy and Indo boards rock!

I think everyone notices Zac with Ashley so much and JJ knows that so he post pictures or comments that get people talking. I have seen several pictures of Zac standing very close to Vanessa as a matter of fact the post on Vanessa, her and Zac were standing together. Honestly, any pictures of Zac with Vanessa are scrutinized so much to the point of being silly. I mean during this whole press tour they have done, there have been plenty of great shots with Vanessa and Zac and yet JJ does not always post those.

#43 don’t be so dramatic! He said he liked the gift as it was something for surfing and he loves to surf, he just stated who the gift was from is all! As for him sharing what V got him I doubt he ever would, and we don’t need to know either! V is obviously happy with him, it’s not ur job to say whether she should stay with him or not. Zac is amazing but he is a guy, and they tend to flirt regardless! V and Corbin hug etc but nothing is said about that! They are all really good friends and it’s a beautiful thing!
As for the standing close to V thing, some of you have obviously not seen the ZV moments I have at all the premiers and yesterday too! Go check them out, they are so cute!

Lina, My comment was just to point out that pictures that JJ posts of Zac and Ashley seem to cause a debate sometimes. This time he did not even post a picture, but a comment and look at how some have taken it. This is a gossip site and I am sure JJ likes to get comments on the things he posts. I go on other fansites for all the HSM stars and many times there are great shots of Zac and Vanessa that JJ does not always show. I have seen great pictures of Zac looking very into Vanessa. I have only seen a few of him being close to Ashley. There were tons of shots from yesterday where ZV were very couply, but JJ does not always post those. Not sure why.

The people who insist on trying to create mayhem over something so silly about whether or not Zac is standing closer to Ashley as opposed to Vanessa astounds me. What is your purpose—to get a rise out of people? to try to put doubt in their minds? Is that fun for you? I think you are ridiculous. If you believe this and if there are those who believe it when you people write this craziness then none of you are very avid fans of Zac’s or Vanessa’s or you would know how many pictures are out there on other sites on the same event where Zac and Vanessa are very much together in the photos.
For example, WHO left hand ‘n hand with Zac from his birthday party ? Who was he with throughout the night? Who was with him in the morning? Who was seen leaving Chez Nous that morning with food? It wasn’t Ashley Tidsdale or any other female who was at his party.
As for the premiere in LA last Thursday? He was with Vanessa. There are pictures of Zac and Vanessa with Zac’s dad prior to the red carpet event—not Ashley Tidsdale and Zac. And furthermore, Ashley was with Jared at Zac’s party and at the premiere. So get offf of it.
And I am proud to say I was at the premiere last Thursday!! It was beyond marvelous—and guess what—Zac and Vanessa were together separately and together on that red carpet! I was afraid to breathe during the movie as I was afraid I’d miss something. It is totally romantic and, yes, Can I Have This Dance is unbelievably beautiful and romantic but before you get there you will have to survive Right Here, Right Now which is also incredibly romantic. Those not liking the interview between Ashley and Zac? How about Zac saying when asked what he thought of Troy and Gabriella’s relationship in the movie and he says how he thinks it shows them falling DEEPER in love and he thinks they are perfect for each other…Awww is all I can say…the movie definitely shows that.

I love the pictures and the video’s from the ny promo’s especially as they are so obvioulsy together and the loving looks are there for everyone to see.
The only time this has slightly changed was when in my opinion Disney stuck their nose’s in and told them what they could and could’nt say about each oher, how they could act towards one another at the premier’s both of which I feel were totally uncalled for as they have NEVER acted anything but professional on those ocassions, but when your in love like thes two are it’s hard not to show it to the world becuase you are so happy and it show’s on thier faces and that’s just something you can’t control or hide and to be honest why should they.
Ashley has never been spotted coming out of zac’s apartment in the mrn ing, being droped of by zac, leaving a place hand in hand with him all those things are what Vanessa has done becuase that’s whayt bf and gf do. As you say Karen he spent his 21st with his family and close friends but spent the night and morning with Vanessa nobody else.
And bless him he does try to hide is answers by saying Troy and Gabriella but his face and the grin gives it away everytime but you can see that he’s being genuine about it.

Excatly hwatever she got him is betwen the two of them and after being together 3 years she knows whatg kind of things Zac like’s and obvioulsy beings as it was for his 21st then obvioulsy it is going to be special but like I said Zac has never sid before what Vanessa has got him or his birthday or their aniversary so why would he start now. He could also have said a bit more about it but JJ left it out and just put in the part hat heknew would get a reaction on the board and it worked.

Zac would never reveal what Vanessa gave him for his 21st Birthday. It could have been and most probably was something intangible nothing money could buy. The looks they have for each other is more than any words could say. The whisperings in the ears, the subtle touches here and there. I know everytime when Zac and Vanessa are together and he is speaking he always looks to her for her reaction which speaks volumes.
