Gwyneth Paltrow’s Newest Pleasures
Check out high-fashion spokesmodel Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest ad for Estee Lauder’s Pleasures fragrance via People magazine.
Pleasures is a sheer floral fragrance that has top notes of white lily, violet leaves and green accents. Middle notes include black lilac, white peony, karo-karounde blossoms, baie rose, pink rose and jasmine. Sandalwood and patchouli round out the base notes.

ANd she got that status only because of her family and showbusiness connections, dating Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck and The Weinstein bros at Miramax. She’s actually mediocre in talent in looks. But Gwyneth’s mother and Miramax were going around with this fake publicity campaign declaring her our new Grace Kelly and iconic beauty. ha! And she let it get to her head too saying she’s an icon and that everyone copies her style and hair. Charlize Theron is much more beautiful, stylish and cooler in personality than this snobby, average looking, princessy chick.

Perfume does not cover the inner stink. Whatever is inside this woman cannot be covered by any perfume. Beauty or smell comes from the inside not a spray of perfume.

Actually I know some people who recently went to a ColdPlay concert, and Gwyn and her mom were there. So no, you’re wrong–they aren’t divorced.
Since day one, they didn’t want to be in the public eye. Their marriage isn’t what their job / career is about. Their careers and their marriage/family are two separate sectors.
Why shouldn’t models be models? It would nice to see an attractive woman actually representing the brand instead of a plain celeb-for-hire looking to rake in a couple of million. The Pleasures ads have been terrible and I doubt Gwyneth even wears Estee Lauder.
Gwyneth wasn’t hired for her looks. She was hired because they wanted someone famous with a family ‘image’ who talks about their kids and grandmother (direct quote from Estee Lauder).
What did they do to her face? She looks like a she-man.
I just think it’s Vain to say a model has to be this beautiful, thin, “Perfect” woman. There is no such thing as a “perfect” woman.
Gwyneth Paltrow should stick to acting. She is not a good model and looks ridiculous in most of her ads.

Please! Welcome to the 21st century people!!!! Anyone–even Rosie O’Donnel–can be a model. The image we want our youngsters to have is that perfect is about being comfortable in your own skin, and that having some fat–or not being the most beautiful person–doesn’t mean you can’t go for your dreams of being a model, or a beauty queen.
Well, I personally think beauty pagents should be eradicated because they do nothing but give a bad image to young girls and boys and even adult men and woman, which is why there are so many people with eating disorders and suicides in this world. SICK.

Looks aside, Gwyneth Paltrow being a model is not progressive. It’s just another example of a celebrity benefiting from their fame. If companies like Estee Lauder were really interested in conveying a more positive body image, they wouldn’t use a 5′10, 120 lb actress rich enough to pay a world-famous personal trainer to work out with her for 2 hours a day 6 days a week. They’d use an average woman off the street, but sex, beauty and celebrity are what sell.
