Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise hold their 2-year-old daughter Suri by the hands as they leave their New York City home on Monday morning.
Tom made nice with Matt Lauer on Friday at the Midtown Hilton Hotel. The 46-year-old actor brought the jokes as he helps roast the 50-year-old Today Show host at the 2008 Friars Club Roast.
“People know Matt and I had ‘that little thing’ a few years ago,” Tom told the crowd. “You know, I was just taking his advice. He told me, ‘Nobody wants to hear about your dopey movie. Go crazy. People will love you for it.’ Matt’s great at giving advice. When Katie [Couric] asked him if she should leave the ‘Today’ show for CBS, he said, ‘Absolutely, you should definitely do that. People will love you for it.’”(Her ratings are less than stellar.)
Tom continued, “Jay Leno was No. 1, but Matt told [NBC exec] Jeff Zucker to cut his contract. ‘You’ll be ahead of the curve before his ratings go down and you’ll look like a genius. People will love you for it.’” (Leno’s ratings never went down.)
Tom joked, “Let’s be honest. We’re roasting Matt Lauer, not Steven Spielberg. So what’s the upside for me — besides meeting Gilbert Gottfried?”

Why is everyone worried about whether she has a coat on? I’d be more worried about whether or not there is a car seat in that vehicle. Notice Katie is getting in first, which probably means there is not.

I think it’s pretty clear that Suri doesn’t sit in a car seat. So many pictures you will see Suri in Katie’s arms inside the car. The girl is probably lap ridden or adult seat belt. Real shame if you ask me.
I think they all look nice in these photos. I still would like to see a coat on Suri , but they all look happy and loving . Even Tom looks handsome here.

It kills me how you all see pictures of this child for maybe 10 mintues of her life a day, and assume you know everything about her.
You see her just with her parents and think she has no friends. You see her playing with her mom at the playground and think she has no friends. What about all the pictures you see of Heidi Klum with her kids at the playground or Brittany and her boys, or Post and her boys or Angelina and her brood?. You rarely see ANY OF THEM with other kids. And, how may of you take your kids to the playground as often as Katie does? And, yes she too has a busy life.

Another video of Katie and Suri at the park taken a few days ago. It says they are ‘dancing’, when actually Katie dances while she twirls Suri round and round. But when they stop and the performers teach the children what actions they should do to the next song, Suri doesn’t join in, she stands gazing at the other children (who are all jumping in time to the music) as though she never sees other children normally. If she wasn’t being twirled round by Katie, she would just stand staring in awe.

Poor parenting. This morning my 5 year old wanted to wear shorts and a t-shirt to school. After he argued with me, pitched a tantrum, and tried to run from me … he wore a long sleeved shirt, jeans, and his jacket.

On the recent post about Matilda Ledger, ( she is in New York ), Matilda and Suri have the same hair style…Identical !!!!…..As I stated in that thread, the only difference is, Matilda has on a warm coat, and tights………..Maybe Katie will bump into Michelle and see how silly Suri looks in summery, sleeveless dresses, with no socks………..I love Katie and Suri, BUT, come on, please dress that little one….At least long sleeves is a start ( the dress could be a little prettier )……….TO NUMBER # 42 ” THE CAT “……..our little grandaughter is 3 and a half, and I have mentioned dozens of times on these Holmes sites, that she also has a fit to wear dresses….costumes ( bella, snow white, etc.), and she wants short sleeves………She hates socks, BUT has learned to love patterened tights….So, we just ( my son, daughter-in-law and their two girls live with us while in school and working ), packed up ALL summer and sleevless clothes, and she has NO choice now, over what to wear………..It HAS to be winter items, and always socks or tights…….Well, Thank the Lord, she is finally choosing long pants, and we let her choose her sweater or heavy jacket……

this is the craziest b.s. I have ever seen. Not that I expected Katie to care about Suri, but when children are exposed to toxins they develop terrible allergies later in life. A 3 year old should not be wearing toxic nail polish!
Why is it that looks are the important thing to her stupid mother? She hasn’t got anyone fooled. She’s nothing more than a hooker who is trying make everyone believe that she is living this wonderful life. She’s nuts. Anyone that has a brain the size of a pea knows that she set herself up for a miserable life when she did everything Tom Cruise wanted early on. I highly doubt the story about Tom buying up all the apartments in his building. However, if it did happen to be true, it just shows how he is running from LA. He has destroyed his image, credibility, and his professional relationships and obviously, such a move would indicate that he no longer feels comfortable in Los Angeles.
Hey Tom, you can run but you can’t hide. Sooner or later he’ll leave NYC too because he will find that no one in NYC has any respect for him either.
I honestly think that when his contract with this beard is over, he can rebuild his career and image somewhat. Given time, people will forget about his relationship with Katie Holmes and once that happens, Tom will recover somewhat. As someone mentioned, he obviously can’t get rid of her right now because of a contract. She has brought him nothing but problems since day one.

AGREE DANCER…NO CAR SEAT…On http://www.deceiver.com a couple of weeks ago, a photo was taken just as the car door’s opened…There were hugh seats and curtains on the windows..LOL…It looked like a frigging hearse…There was a cooler on the floor, and some toys and a yellow blanket on the seat, but NO car seat was attached to anything……Katie got in first, then Tom handed Suri to her…She sat on Katie’s lap, and Tom waved at everyone before the door was closed…..A regular person watching this fiasco, said she had baby-sat many celebrities ( nanny ),children, and they NEVER use car seats in New York…she stated the traffic was to slow, and congested, so you could not go fast anyway….Plus, they did NOT want the hassel of keeping up with a bulky seat…………

Hey Good Victoria–I do think the lack of a car seat is a far worse “sin” than a summer dress in a cold fall. I know when Brangelina was here in Chicago, they were chased by the paps. I’m assuming this happens in NYC with the TomKats. The child becomes a projectile when a car is hit. I don’t get why any parent would risk their child this way. Especially a celebrity couple that should know that if they are hit and Suri does get hurt, the negative press would be monstrous.

I think that Suri having sleeves on a her dress is a big start considering what we have seen her wear lately, maybe when we see her next she will have a sweater or or tights on next if she is wearing a dress? I do have to agree that her shoes are starting to look a little worn. I do think it’s it’s time to have some better supported shoes though then the satin looking Mary Janes. At least maybe they could be leather or a hard plastic Mary Janes.
I really don’t know why you all are making such a big deal about her nail polish??? So what if it’s red? What other colors are out there? Pink is for the summer. It’s not like she is wearing black, blue, green or the other funky colors that have come out now.
Little girls love playing dress up with their Mommy’s make up. I remember as a little girl walking in my Mommy’s shoes around the house and would love to play dress up and pretend I was a little princess. I think little girls rather play in their Mommy’s closet then with their own toys at time. It’s a great way for little girls use their imagination. Halloween is just like playing dress up, don’t you think??

It has nothing to do with the color lisa. It has to do with the fact that nail polish is full of chemicals and harmful. Little children put their fingers in their mouths and chew on the polish. If u look at the pics, Suri has obviously done that since some of the polish is chewed off. There are toxic chemicals in there and its going in her body!!
No good parent would put toxic polish on their kids nails knowing they will chew on it!! Katie is a moron.
#98, they make nail polish for litttle children that isn’t so toxic. I’ve seen many little girls with painted nails. It’s really not a big deal.
#96 Play dress up? A 3 year old? I believe you talking about when you were 6 plus years of age. Suri is still too young to even be thinking about dressing up like Mommy. She is still in a critical development stage at which she is learning from her surroundings, not wondering which outfit or shoes of mommy she’d rather wear.
In about 3 or 4 years she’ll be doing the dress-up thing (if she turns out normal–which I highly doubt.

In one picture, the colour of Suri’s arm is all mottled from the cold(!), and in the other her nose is red, arms are purple and Katie’s hands look very red i.e. cold. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter Suri has weekly hair appointments, it has been claimed.
The tot, who is not yet one, has reportedly been visiting a stylist every seven days to keep her luscious dark locks neat and trim.
However, it is claimed Tom and Katie have some peculiar demands over Suri’s cut.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: “She is always naked and no one’s allowed to talk around the baby.”

Actually one of the Nana-babies was just here from Thailand, my DIL’s father needed some major surgery. The nana-baby left me her cold. Actually Suri reminds me of my eldest nana-baby–3 years old and Ms. Drama Queen. I could see her cowering from the paps, not because she is afraid, but because she knows it heightens the drama and gets a reaction. Wonder if Suri is the same way. She also doesn’t like coats, but we all just run right over her objections and stuff her arms in one. No 40 degree temps and bare arms for her!

I just read the Brangelina thread and what struck me was that Tom’s speech about Matt Lauer was focused on Tom and not Matt. Angelina’s was focused on Clint, not her.

#100…I must disagree with you. When my daughters were younger than three-ish they had vivid imaginations and played dress up all the time. They had little vacuum’s, brooms, purses….everything mommy had, but smaller. And they mimicked her night and day.
It’s true that this is a critical development age, but most childhood ages are just that.
And all my girls developed quite the “fashion sense” very, very young, and since their grades in school certainly don’t reflect any of them as possessing a genius IQ, I figure this is pretty normal. GoodVic…what about your grand-girls?
My boy, on the other hand, nothing close. It was all trucks, cars, sports, and stalking the older sisters for him at that age and that hasn’t changed, except he “helps” me all the time now.

Hal…you bonehead…weight is a factor, not age, regarding car seats. Obviously age has nothing to do with weight. Basic physics. And since Suri is tall, yet very frail and thin, she’s a candidate for the car seat for quite a few more years.
To love a child is the greatest joy on earth. To neglect a child’s basic needs (food, water, shelter, safety, and love) is pathetic.
