Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise hold their 2-year-old daughter Suri by the hands as they leave their New York City home on Monday morning.
Tom made nice with Matt Lauer on Friday at the Midtown Hilton Hotel. The 46-year-old actor brought the jokes as he helps roast the 50-year-old Today Show host at the 2008 Friars Club Roast.
“People know Matt and I had ‘that little thing’ a few years ago,” Tom told the crowd. “You know, I was just taking his advice. He told me, ‘Nobody wants to hear about your dopey movie. Go crazy. People will love you for it.’ Matt’s great at giving advice. When Katie [Couric] asked him if she should leave the ‘Today’ show for CBS, he said, ‘Absolutely, you should definitely do that. People will love you for it.’”(Her ratings are less than stellar.)
Tom continued, “Jay Leno was No. 1, but Matt told [NBC exec] Jeff Zucker to cut his contract. ‘You’ll be ahead of the curve before his ratings go down and you’ll look like a genius. People will love you for it.’” (Leno’s ratings never went down.)
Tom joked, “Let’s be honest. We’re roasting Matt Lauer, not Steven Spielberg. So what’s the upside for me — besides meeting Gilbert Gottfried?”

They are not a gorgeous family - they are a fraud. I feel sorry for that little girl who never asked to be born into the batsh*t crazy world of Tom Cruise. She looks like she wants for nothing - except the one thing that all the money in the world can’t buy…

It’s so tiring about the coat, leggings thing. It’s not the deep freeze there yet! She is going from her apt to a waiting car. Jeez
Ugh…I don’t like Suri’s dress. Not cute at all. Probably cost more than a $100 bucks…but, I would not buy it for $10! lOL
The dress couldn’t be more dreary or depressing to look at. Fancy putting that on a 3 year old. And Suri’s expression appears to match it. That is not a happy child at all.
I looked at the dress again…and she looks like a little Orphan Suri in that drab dress. Of all the many dresses she can pick from…she had to pick that sack of a dress?
Oh well….who cares anyway.
I just find it interesting when people have a lot of money to burn….especially in these days……and they probably buy designer dresses for kids that grow out of them in a month or so……and this dress has to look so yucky??

AGREE DANCER…NO CAR SEAT…On http://www.deceiver.com a couple of weeks ago, a photo was taken just as the car door’s opened…There were hugh seats and curtains on the windows..LOL…It looked like a frigging hearse…There was a cooler on the floor, and some toys and a yellow blanket on the seat, but NO car seat was attached to anything……Katie got in first, then Tom handed Suri to her…She sat on Katie’s lap, and Tom waved at everyone before the door was closed…..A regular person watching this fiasco, said she had baby-sat many celebrities ( nanny ),children, and they NEVER use car seats in New York…she stated the traffic was to slow, and congested, so you could not go fast anyway….Plus, they did NOT want the hassel of keeping up with a bulky seat…………
What a shame….I would rather put up with a ” bulky car seat “, then have by child mangled or thrown through the windshield… ( or worse )……If you go to http://www. omg .com, they have some different pictures of Suri and Katie in the park…They look happier…BUT, everyone, including the body guards, have on jackets and sweaters…..In fact, Katie looks like she has on 2 or 3 light sweaters ( layered ), then her big coat. ( or sweater coat )…Suri looks silly and out of place with her summer dress on……….
HEY ” RESCUE 59, HONEY PIE”…..Where have you been ?……The leaves here in Tennessee are beautiful, BUT they are spectactular in The Great Smokey Mountain’s….We should have gone this past week-end, BUT everyone wanted to watch the TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS, get whipped by Alabama… OUCH !!!…NOT, a good season so far…We would have had a better time in the mountains and going to Dollywood…LOL….See ya later RESCUE 59..!!!!!!!!

Hey Good Victoria–I do think the lack of a car seat is a far worse “sin” than a summer dress in a cold fall. I know when Brangelina was here in Chicago, they were chased by the paps. I’m assuming this happens in NYC with the TomKats. The child becomes a projectile when a car is hit. I don’t get why any parent would risk their child this way. Especially a celebrity couple that should know that if they are hit and Suri does get hurt, the negative press would be monstrous.

Tom is a hunk and Suri is precious as always. Katie looks beautiful and there’s a sweet vid of Katie and Suri by x17online and she is putting a blanket and sweater on Suri who hates it. That’s normal for many babies.

I think that Suri having sleeves on a her dress is a big start considering what we have seen her wear lately, maybe when we see her next she will have a sweater or or tights on next if she is wearing a dress? I do have to agree that her shoes are starting to look a little worn. I do think it’s it’s time to have some better supported shoes though then the satin looking Mary Janes. At least maybe they could be leather or a hard plastic Mary Janes.
I really don’t know why you all are making such a big deal about her nail polish??? So what if it’s red? What other colors are out there? Pink is for the summer. It’s not like she is wearing black, blue, green or the other funky colors that have come out now.
Little girls love playing dress up with their Mommy’s make up. I remember as a little girl walking in my Mommy’s shoes around the house and would love to play dress up and pretend I was a little princess. I think little girls rather play in their Mommy’s closet then with their own toys at time. It’s a great way for little girls use their imagination. Halloween is just like playing dress up, don’t you think??

It has nothing to do with the color lisa. It has to do with the fact that nail polish is full of chemicals and harmful. Little children put their fingers in their mouths and chew on the polish. If u look at the pics, Suri has obviously done that since some of the polish is chewed off. There are toxic chemicals in there and its going in her body!!
No good parent would put toxic polish on their kids nails knowing they will chew on it!! Katie is a moron.
#98, they make nail polish for litttle children that isn’t so toxic. I’ve seen many little girls with painted nails. It’s really not a big deal.
#96 Play dress up? A 3 year old? I believe you talking about when you were 6 plus years of age. Suri is still too young to even be thinking about dressing up like Mommy. She is still in a critical development stage at which she is learning from her surroundings, not wondering which outfit or shoes of mommy she’d rather wear.
In about 3 or 4 years she’ll be doing the dress-up thing (if she turns out normal–which I highly doubt.
i like katie’s outfit. except from the bag. bugs me how this whole family is so colour coordinated. tom still creeps me out but suri is adorablee!
