Sophia Bush is Dating James Lafferty!!!
One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush has ex-husband (and costar) Chad Michael Murray to thank for spilling the beans.
In an interview with CW Channel 11 News, Chad talked about his divorce with Sophia and her current relationship with another costar of theirs, James Lafferty.
Chad shared, “[Sophia and I] both professional and mature enough to get through it. Now, it’s just easy. She’s got James, and James and I are friends. It’s just a little tight group in Wilmington (North Carolina).”
Don’t you love how the news totally goes over the newscaster’s head? Hah.

I am not a fan of Sophia the actress and this is bad. Thats 3 co-stars so far (or ones we know of) and 2 from the same show. She needs to be careful. However if James makes her happy then good luck.
P.S What is up with celebs hooking with each other on set? The only people who suufer in the end are the fans, then of course the rest of the cast and crew when everything goes south and they need to clean up things.

OH MY GOD! I could not stop sqealing after reading this. It took me like two minutes to forget about Naley (major OTH fan!) and take in the fact that James is with Sophia. I cannot believe this! They’re so cute together. My favourite actress and actor on the show are together!
No matter what they say, it must be at least a little bit awkward for them. His ex-wife is now dating a really good friend of his and he has to see them like everyday.

Ok, I watched this interview yesterday and can’t seem to understand why everyone are so mad at Chad, the airport pics came before the interview so it was obvious that they are dating. I’m sorry but it’s not his fault all the hater just make up stories that he is jealous and he’s not over Sophia its ridiculous, if Sophia and James wanted to keep their relationship so ‘private’ they woudn’t have taken the same flight in the first place. I have no respect for Sophia or James and doubt very much that this will relationship will last at all. Sophia started hooking up with Chad way back in S1 when he had another girlfriend. And Sophia started hooking up with James last season when he was still hooking up with his ex. Do we see a pattern here? And since the rumors about James still going after sorority girls and strippers have barely slowed in the last year, I will not feel bad for Sophia at all when this relationship ends the same way her marriage did.
But whatever. Its their lives. I only care insomuch as it affects the show, and it has already started affecting the show. Where the hell are all of these Brooke/Nathan scenes coming from? They’ve never been close friends before, and we’ve already had more scenes of them together in the 8 episodes of this season than any season previous. If you want to screw, fine. But leave it at home. Mark needs to stop caving so easily to actor’s demands. And Sophia also needs to stop showing up to watch all of James’ scenes be filmed. It makes her look needy and pathetic, and its ******** with James ability to be a convincing romantic lead on screen. He’s been pretty bad in some NH scenes this season, and that needs to stop.

It’s not a big surprise if you live in Wilmington although most of their friends didn’t know about the relationship being official so they were definitely trying to keep things underwraps. Chad knew exactly what he was doing when he said it. I don’t think he’s jealous and honestly he should be paying a little bit more attention to himself and all the lies he tells “his girl.”
As for the cast, they are actually a lot closer than most people think. Joy and Sophia are good friends and no, I’m not kidding and yes, I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

I am so, so disappointed. I remember all the comments noting that Sophia and James were dating, and how her hardcore fans would just scream they were only friends. #78 I agree. I think Chad knew exactly what he was doing when he outed JS. I think it’s a revenge of sorts because either he’s not completely happy about JS hooking up, or he just wants a little sympathy from the fans and the media. Either way, he has not helped his case. A lot of people will think he’s an even bigger douche for blabbing about JS (myself included).
There’s probably a very good reason why JS wanted to keep things private. #1 they might still be in the “let’s see where this leads to phase” and any public break-up might affect the show, the fans, and their friendship #2 they know the public back-lash this could potentially get from the fans and the media, considering they’re cast mates along with the Ex #3 They probably think their relationship has a better chance of working without all the outside attention and interference.
Bottomline, it’s not uncommon for cast mates to be dating, virtually because they’re around each other 24/7, but they were trying to be smart about things, because if things don’t work out, they’ll get a lot of flack for it. Hence, the giving it private part. So Chad, by doing what he did, basically just screwed them over and sabotaged them. Even if they’re dating semi-seriously, or just trying to see where things go and are not exactly “heading down the altar” (which they’re both single so i don’t see anything wrong), they’ll be forced into a situation where they’ll have to do things just to make the media and the fans happy.

I don’t get how some of these people can say Sophia is such a **** and gets with every co-star. Newsflash she NEVER dated Austin NOR Jesse. The last time I checked it was not a crime to date people when you are SINGLE. She has only dated John, and now James.
This whole Chad/Sophia thing has been over for three years now. People just need to let that go. Obviously Chad was not right for Sophia, and now he is and has been engaged to Kenzie for a while now.
As far as we know, Sophia has said so herself that she did not want her love life to be the in the public eye again. She has obviously learned from it by being with Chad and what happened. That is why she always responds by “I am not dating” because Sophia has grown and learned.
People need to REMEMBER JAMES IS NOT CHAD. Everyone who says that she should have learned her lesson by now and not date her co-star can just keep their mouth shut. It’s not like James is the one going on talk shows/interviews professing his undying love for her, asking for her hand in marriage, and then is going to cheat on her. Oh Wait that was CHAD. It is clear that James/Sophia wanted to wait and see where this relationship is going before coming out because they knew they would face this type of critism from people.
On that note, I am HAPPY for BOTH Sophia and James. If James makes Sophia happy, and treats her with respect then I wish them nothing but the best. Sophia deserves a real man, someone she can trust and know that he will be faithful to her.

If Sophia wants to hook up with another costar that’s her choice however she shouldn’t be shocked if she does get criticized for it warranted or not. Maybe its the real deal or a fling. Regardless its between them and should Chad have said anything? No he shouldn’t have but honestly if it wasn’t him it was going to be someone else like I said before any two costars who date are nuts if they honestly think it wouldn’t come out at some point.. Really saves them from saying the inevitable.
That being said if this too ends up falling apart I would find it really hard to feel bad for her because she should’ve learned the first time around.

When you spend so much time with someone, its only NATURAL for feelings to begin to develop to the point where you’re just like “I think I want something more than friendship.” I absolutely understand because its happened to me too. You may not have the intention of it turning into something more, but it just does and its usually out of your hands.

Couldn’t be happier for them. I always thought they suited each other, even back when she was with Chad. Have you even bothered reading the previous posts by other fans because if you did, then you’d see that there are many people who are thrilled over the news and are absolutely NOT sick and tired of Sophia. Have you thought about seeing a shrink?????????? You think just because James is hot, Sophia suddenly decided “oh wait, I think I’ll get with James now.” Come one, GET REAL. Sophia’s worked in plenty of films and the she’s only been with three co-stars. First Chad, because she thought he was the real deal until she saw his true colors. Then Jon Foster after her divorce because….did you really expect her to stay single for the rest of her life??? And now she’s dating James. So what??? Sophia and James have been friends with one another since the very beginning of the show. They’ve even said it in interviews that they just clicked and became really good friends. True she was with Chad at the time because she thought that he was the one. She even married him only to find out later that he was a lying, cheating dog. But the point is that Sophia and James have been friends through thick and thin. It was only natural for them to realize that they’re may be feelings there that go beyond friendship. So just because it took “6 years” for them to get together isn’t unrealistic. Do you have any idea how many friendships turn into relationships everyday??? Sophia is one of those people who enjoys working. And seeing as how she’s an actress, she mostly spends her time on movie sets and the set of OTH. And a lot of relationships start off at work, which is why her past three relationships have been with co-stars. It just happened. NOT because she makes it her mission “to go after co-stars.”
And Sophia isn’t “desperate” for attention because she gets enough media coverage as it is….why you may ask? Its simple really…..its because people actually care about her. So get over it. If anything……she’s been trying to keep her life as private as possible since her divorce. But thanks to Chads HUMONGOUS ass mouth, he went and ruined that. I’ve been watching this show long enough and have been listening to whats been going on with the cast long enough to realize that the only person who talks WAY TOO much from the cast is Chad….its like a disease with him.
Like many have said before me……all that matters is that Sophia and James are happy….and if they make each other happy, then awesome for them. I love them both and I want them to be nothing but content with there lives and happy.
You may think that they might not last but seeing as your not a psychic…..I’m just gonna laugh and move on. Its your opinion and think what you want. I don’t know whats going to happen to them either. It can go one of two ways—1)They may be together for a while and realize that they’re better off as friends. It’s a BIG deal, and not all couples last, trust me. Not all so Sophia and James are likely not to survive there because of 2 good reasons. Sophia is all over media like you said. You just admits that fans love her so of course she’s all over it, but James on other hand wants to keep his life private, and he hates media and doesn’t want to be plastered all over tabloid. So if dating her is a way to keep his life private, then he got another thing coming. Let me say, it’s HARD to keep out of press and it’s HARD to avoid it. I NEVER said that I DEFINITELY knew that Sophia and James were going to last. I said that I HOPED that they would last and actually beat the odds in Hollywood and make it. There’s no need for you to sit there and give me a list of all these celebrity couples who didn’t make it. I could really care less.
I know that there are plenty of relationships in Hollywood that don’t last…..but they’re also plenty that do. We don’t know Sophia and James on a personal level so we can’t sit here and be like, “They won’t make it” or “They will make it.” Only they know what they want. And if they want each other forever, than fine. And if they want each other just for now, then thats also fine.
What amuses me is the way that some haters will literally throw a hissy fit over celebrities who could really care less about them. I mean do you really think that any of them care about how we feel about they’re relationships…..uhh NO. SO why not just get over it and let it be. Why sit there and say “Its not gonna last” and blah, blah, blah.
Whether or not Sophia and James are willing to put up with the media…..only time will tell. So I guess all we can do is watch and see what happens instead of jumping to conclusions.
I think the reason that a few people are worried about this relationship is because they think it will interfere with the Naley relationship. Let me tell you something right now……that will NEVER happen. Naley is what holds the rest of the gang together. Naley is the only rock solid relationship on the show while the others are all over the place. Mark knows that by breaking up Naley, he’s going to piss of plenty of OTH fans. On the show, Brooke and Nathan will always remain friends and nothing less and nothing more. I don’t see why its so hard for some to see that. No one from the core 5 will ever come between Naley…….but that doesn’t mean Mark may not bring in someone new to stir things up…..like he did with Chris Keller and Carrie.
I find it funny how some people have been getting nervous due to the Brathan scenes we’ve been getting lately. Just suck it up and deal with it. NOTHING is going to happen between them.

As someone who’s been watching the show since the VERY beginning, I can honestly tell you that the Brucas relationship on the show did NOT happen because Chophia got together. Believe me, I know plenty of stuff that goes on behind the show among other things. Sophia’s character, Brooke, was brought into the show to change things around a bit. Her character had a huge impact on the show. Mark started off the show trying to go in the LP direction. But come on….whats the fun in getting the two characters together so early on the show when its just begun. Which is why Brooke was thrown into the equation and it became a love triangle…..you know like the ones on most television shows these days. So don’t even think about telling me that the only reason Brucas got together was because of Chophia’s real life relationship. Mark has been playing with the BLP triangle since season 1. And the sole reason for this is to create drama and not because he decided to get the two characters together because Chad and Sophia were together in real life. Thats a bunch of bull.

I remember the day before when they had been shooting the airport scene…..Sophia was upset about something so she wasn’t her typical self. But the next day at the charity game, she sincerely apologized to this girl who wasn’t able to get her autograph the day before and even spent some time talking to her and her friends. This is thread is hilarious! Three things:
First, CMM is an… interesting fella. Good-looking, lots of charm, but still very much a boy. He loves his Holllywood persona and the fact that it gets him money and fame. And of course girls. He wrecked his marriage and probably didn’t realise what he’d lost until now. It must BURN to see Sophia with James now. Because guess what Chad, she’s finally over you and she’s happy. Not saying he outed them on purpose but the guy must be bitter, despite his protestations. And him and his so-called fiancee? Yeah, laughable.
Secondly, Sophia and James weren’t hiding anything, they just weren’t talking about it. It’s their business after all and no one else’s. She in particular has been burned by a public relationship, of course she doesn’t want this one to play out in the media. Who could blame them? But it’s out there now and would have been eventually, I’m guessing they just might have wanted to do it at their pace and in their own time.
Thirdly, it sounds silly but I’ve got a good feeling about this one. They’ve known each for YEARS and are not in this because of some insane lust they can’t control. He knows her, she knows him and they have fun together. There’s respect and trust and devotion there already. IMO the best relationships are the ones that build slowly, the ones that take you by surprise and you wake up one more and suddenly your best friend is the ONLY one you can see yourself with. What’s more, you KNOW this is not a decision they took lightly. They wouldn’t want to risk a wonderful friendship by complicating it with romance and if that’s what they’ve chosen to do, they you know they’re both in it totally. I’m very happy for them because they both seem so down to earth and really, genuinely nice. Best of luck because it couldn’t happen to two nicer people.

Jules_verne, you think it’s about the chemistry? I don’t know about the others but I’m FINALLY feeling something towards Naley, something other than numbness and bitterness. MY problem with BN is that they are completely out of the blue. Where was Nathan last season during the whole Angie ordeal, huh? When Brooke battled with Victoria? Yeah, nowhere in sight. And when JS are a serious thing, BN are having heartfelt conversations and etc., whereas LN has shared maybe one scene together. If they had developed that relationship properly earlier (I don’t count them discussing Naley or frolicking in the sprinklers as a set up to STD as an organic development), I would not mind BN now. It’s probably a case of Mark pandering to the certain actors. That’s what bothers me. That’s why I don’t like the JS thing. Who knows what will be Mark’s next move. He kept giving material to actors who, as he himself stated, he thought to be weak, so he can put BN together, chemistry or lack of thereof be damned, especially with the controvery around the actors’ contracts and the possibility of some of them not combing back for the seventh season.

I’ve been lucky enough to meet Sophia SIX different times and all I have to say is that she is one of the most NICEST, KINDEST, AND SWEETEST people ever. Kali, I’m trying to see where you’re coming from. Personally, I’ve always felt like BN had chemistry that was just waiting to be exploited but I think that time has long gone now. At least in terms of anything serious. Mark, in my opinion, made a big mistake with developing NH so fast so seriously. Didn’t leave much room to maneouvre other characters. It’s pretty clear NH is here to stay, despite my misgivings. Which is why I can’t believe the paranoia running rampant in some people. Why fixate on the little things? Sure BN haven’t really interacted much before and now seem to be doing so more but how does that affect ANY of the storylines, especially the romantic ones??? Is it REALLY a bif deal in the bigger scheme of things? Naley fans freaking out is unbelievable because in all my years of tv fandom, I haven’t seen a couple so inbuilt for success by the writers. They’re not suddenly going to break up because one of the actors is involved with another actress on the show. And the excuse of Chopia being a precedent is ridiculous, they were always going to hook up Brooke and Lucas, regardless of the Chad and Sophia’s romance. The triangle was ALWAYS going to happen.
