Katie Holmes is Wrapped Up in Ribbon

Nicole has always been fiercely protective of Bella and Connor’s privacy. And when they were young, very few pictures were ever captured. It seemed like Tom was in agreement with keeping the kids out of the lime light and trying to let them have a normal child hood.
I guess the question is What happened to this philosophy when applied to Suri? I know they are among the most photographed of couples, but I’m feeling more and more like they are deliberately showing Suri off. She’s got the play and he’s got the film. All of us who know the business and know NYC know there are ways even someone of TomKat’s fame — can move around without paps following them. For some reason TomKat refuses to keep Suri under wraps and private.
Don’t get it. Don’t get it at all.

Actually, I believe Katie got her “designing” hands on a pair of premiere designer heels here. I think she cut and pasted a pair of designers shoes and added the ribbon herself. No one in their right mind would expect anyone to buy a pair of these hideous shoes.

Katie’s shrimp toes make me want to puke.

He never pimped out anyone, #96. There’s some slight, tiny amount of logic when you accuse him of pimping out Suri Cruise because his reputation has taken a hit lately. But there is NONE AT ALL WHATSOEVER when you accuse him of pimping his older kids when he was at the height of his fame.

They don’t hand her over to the paparazzi, #99. She’s expectedly photographed because she’s famous and it’s always at completely normal places doing normal things like entering and exiting and playing in parks.

Jennifer Garner and her daughter are seen everywhere but I doubt you go around accusing her of pimping her kid out. (By the way, I don;t think either couple are pimping anyone out but I’m just pointing out the double standard).

Those kids were STILL hardly ever seen when Holmes entered the picture, #105. What are you talking about?

Two of the biggest celebrities on Earth can walk around in one of the most populated and famous cities on the Earth without EVEr being seen eh? Okay…

I always find it hilarious when she isn’t doing anything at all and still you find some fault with TomKat, #109.

You are so right! There are back entrances to all the buildings. Ways to enter and exit without the pap frenzy. Ray is in denial because his precious TomKat can do NO wrong which includes pimping out that baby!

You are right KD, but how does every other actor in the world and folks like the late Princess Diana who was probably the most well known persona in the world and most photographed–how did they and how do they manage to fly under the radar of the paps when they want to?
And I guess that is the key–when they want to.
You know Katie and Suri could “escape” unseen and go to a park outside of the city and by the time the paps got there they can be gone. But they choose not to do it.
I don’t really care one way or the other except for the photographic evidence that Suri doesn’t seem to enjoy being constantly photographed. There are loads of pictures of her hiding her face, covering her ears etc.
To me to deliberately take your child into situations that distress them is more of an abuse than no coat in 40 degree weather.
I realize our resident TomKat poster–Ray/Creature whoever will cry, BUT BUT BUT they are not pimping their child out, there is no way to leave their apartment, hotel room etc to escape the paps–
BUT those of us who know NYC and other large cities that cater to the rich, famous etc. know there are plenty of ways you can avoid being photographed.
Other stars have figured it out including Brangelina who now are the number one most famous couple, most photographed couple etc (according to various polls etc). Are Brad and Angelina’s team smarter than TomKat’s in that they know ways to avoid the paps? How could that be? They aren’t Scientologists! Haha
And yes, you do get photographed and hounded, but even Brange doesn’t expose their kids daily.
And their kids don’t seem as distressed by the pap calls. Violet Affleck doesn’t seem as distressed.
So I guess many of us just don’t get why a couple of so called good parents would put their child in this position..
Plus Scientology although it doesn’t come right out and say you shouldn’t tell a child no, it does talk about letting a child have choices so you aren’t the big bad person stifling their inner beings etc. (You can google scientology/child raising to find articles). Now TomKat doesn’t tell Suri to put her coat on, yet they seem to clearly defy her wishes to be away from the flashes, yells, and pushing of the paps.
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who just doesn’t get their parenting skills/style.

To Good Victoria, i have not seen a picture of Katie’s co-stars either. i guess they disappear rather quickly after their play has ended. i live in Manhattan, and have not seen the play yet, but will. i do not even see her co-stars on the street much. So, i guess you can disappear when you really want to.
