Benjamin Button, out Christmas Day, is about a man who ages in reverse. As he grows younger, his love (Blanchett) grows older. Here’s a snippet from the NYT article:
Benjamin, as he says in his voice-over narration, “was born under unusual circumstances” on Nov. 11, 1918, the last day of World War I. As the doctor attending him describes the strange little creature, “He has all the deterioration, the infirmities, not of a newborn, but of a man well in his 80s on the way to his grave.”

With a sizable cast, Angelina Jolie dominates this movie as if it were a one woman show. Her mesmerizing performance generates enough genuine angst and righteous anger to keep you glued to this two and a half hour story. Generally, Jolie convinces us that Christine’s pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime.
“Changeling” is 141 minutes and rated R for some violent and disturbing content and language. This is an incredible story of a mother’s search for her son and the system determined to stop her. Mostly, with a steadfast resolve, Christine Collins was the catalyst for sweeping changes in Los Angeles law enforcement in the mid-1930s.
This is a very special movie that stays with you long after you leave the theater. It is both gut-wrenching and heart-warming. Mostly, Eastwood is successful in getting us to care very much about the characters. This movie isn’t for everyone, but if we learn anything, sometimes those who run our society can tell us where to sit, but not where we stand.

Agency founder Ari Emanuel now has the home and cellphone numbers of one of the country’s most important political power brokers. His brother, Rahm Emanuel, the Illinois congressman and former Clinton White House staffer, on Thursday accepted President-elect Barack Obama’s offer to become his chief of staff.
In Hollywood terms, it’s like signing Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and Colin Firth (because class is as important as box office) in one day.
