Brad Pitt is Benjamin Button

Brad Pitt is Benjamin Button

A motorcycle-riding Cate Blanchett holds onto costar Brad Pitt in this new still from their upcoming movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. (They both look so gorgeous in the rehearsal shot below!)

Benjamin Button, out Christmas Day, is about a man who ages in reverse. As he grows younger, his love (Blanchett) grows older. Here’s a snippet from the NYT article:

Benjamin, as he says in his voice-over narration, “was born under unusual circumstances” on Nov. 11, 1918, the last day of World War I. As the doctor attending him describes the strange little creature, “He has all the deterioration, the infirmities, not of a newborn, but of a man well in his 80s on the way to his grave.”

BI, huh? I know what you claim your name means, but I think we all know different…

Here are a few of my guesses…anybody else have any?
————————-
Blockheaded Imbecile
Babble Incessantly
Badly Indecissive (see multiple names)

Either way, BI/style/pusycat doll/ja/and so on and so on is annoying just for the hell of being annoying and gets on my nerves.

Hmmm let the smear campaign begin. Entire article at link

Traditionally, Halloween weekend is a lousy time to open a movie wide, especially if the holiday falls on a Saturday. “Changeling” had another problem. It’s widely perceived as a chick flick that dating couples might skip in favor of more cross-gender crowd pleasers like “High School Musical 3,” “Zach and Miri Make a Por***no” and “Saw V.”

But “Changeling” beat the odds and had the highest per-screen average of all pix in theaters this past weekend — $5,085 — and exceeded box-office projections, bringing in $9.4 million. One third of its audience was male (that’s pretty good) and exit polls showed a high number of viewers ranking it “excellent” and saying that they’d definitely recommend it to others.

SCREEN SCENE: EASTWOOD’S ‘CHANGELING’ A TRIUMPH
By Michael Calleri

Going all the way back to his feature directorial debut “Play Misty For Me,” Clint Eastwood has directed movies that have within them a dark spirit. His first holds up very well 37 years after its release.

Eastwood is again behind the camera with “Changeling,” a somber story based on real-life events in 1928 Los Angeles.

Angelina Jolie plays Christine Collins, a telephone company supervisor who’s a single mother devoted to her 9-year-old son.

The period look of “Changeling” is outstanding, and Tom Stern’s cinematography does two things — it evokes the era with precision and it creates an atmosphere of dread that is palpable.

This is a movie that succeeds in myriad ways. It’s harrowing and emotional and alarming, all at the same time. If it doesn’t make you uncomfortable, then you just might have ice running through your veins.

I know these are “old” news but I can’t wait to see this movie.

Oscars ready for ‘Changeling’
Published in the Monday, November 3, 2008 Edition of
By Blair Thill

Clint Eastwood is known for being extremely selective with the projects he decides to direct. In a career that spans six decades of noteworthy performances as an actor, Eastwood finally found his true directing stride within the last 20 years (minus the debacle that was Space Cowboys, of course). The dawning of Eastwood’s brilliance came in 1992’s Unforgiven, one of the only successful modern Western films. The actor/director earned his first Best Director Academy Award for Unforgiven, as well as an award for Best Picture. Eastwood followed this movie up with a string of critically acclaimed movies, including Oscar nominees Mystic River and Letters from Iwo Jima, and a second Director-Picture double win for Million Dollar Baby. With his newest movie, Changeling, the 78-year-old icon has the potential to make yet another trip to the Kodak Theatre and down the red carpet for another shot at a golden statue.

Angelina Jolie plays Collins with pure intensity, taking the audience on her horrific journey, making them feel every emotion with her. Changeling proves that Jolie is much more than the femme fatale she portrays so well in movies like this summer’s Wanted and the older classics like Tomb Raider and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The character of Christine Collins hearkens back to Jolie’s critically beloved roles in Girl, Interrupted and A Mighty Heart. The former film garnered Jolie her first and only Academy Award, but most people think that Changeling has the ability to get her another.

Interesting synopsis of Benjamin Button with one still of the movie I have not seen before at link.

The big east coast and west coast newspapers have both delivered an update on David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button today, in the first of many holiday movie season features. The LA Times has a few photos showing Brad Pitt’s old-to-young age progression, while the NY Times has an extensive article written on the film, outlining its development and so much more. Each update is as fascinating as the other, so I hope you can spare a few minutes today in the world of David Fincher, exploring what could be this year’s Best Picture, or at the very least, one of the best films this year. Given I’m still very excited to see this, I couldn’t help but pull together some of my favorite quotes.

Overall, it was an exciting weekend, with four films debuting in the Top 10 for the weekend of Oct. 31-Nov. 2 on our charts (an average of box office, critics’ reviews and audience response*):

2) Changeling (NR). Starring Angelina Jolie, it had the highest per screen gross of any film in the Top 10, strong word-of-mouth (7.8 IMDB), and an impressive 63 metacritic score (#3 among the Top 20 B.O.)

bdj @ 11/03/2008 at 6:43 pm

Thanks bdj for all the great articles and links.

In Harper’s interview, She didn’t want to talk about Pitt, She wanted to talk about her kids only. She even told she doesn’t believe in FATE.

She has done this interview in NYC , unlike W’s interview which was done in France. I wonder why suddenly she didn’t want to talk about him? Maybe she caught him cheating on her, nah?

I had noticed the tension between her and Pitt in NYF. How she pushed his hand away from her butt and how his smile was so fake, and in most of pics he was looking at other direction or wasn’t even smiling. Pitt left her so soon and went to theater, Beside of that wisphering’s pic, there was no other pic of them affectionate. And he Didn’t even look at her in the whole RC at all. Now the tension is obvious even in her interview.

I will give them 2 months at maximum, because of his movie and Oscar award thing. But wonder if they are going to wait that long! :)

bdj–you are the best!!! Many thanks for the great articles you posted.

Things that do not make sense:

1. Angie’s W nursing pictures causing outrage,
Kate Winslet’s VF shoot not causing a single stir.
Linsey Lohan’s MM pictures - who cared?
Lisa Marie’s naked pregnant pics - who cared?
Brittany Spears Naked pics - did anyone care?

So getting bare for the purpose of selling how “sexy” you are is great,
but show a nursing mother???? OMG??????

2. “Has been” Barr shoots off her mouth about Angie and it is a media
sensation.

X’s boyfriend refers to her as “Stupid” to Pink, X has a hissy
It is barely even covered.

3. BBT ALLEGEDLY says something negative about Brad
International news. To the point that he made a public
statement denying it immediately!

JM DUMPS X publicly and vocally, on national TV.
Every one is awed by “the miracle of it all” when they get
back together.

4. Haterz hang out on Jolie Pitt threads, change names and post and
post and post, day and night.

Some of the things that do not make sense to me…..

PT, I was wondering the same thing. These b**ches are so hypocritical.

I read the story on the UK link you gave earlier, and their “insider report” that Brad’s parents are upset with Angie for the W cover picture, and ask myself, who the hell writes these stories? Isn’t Brad the photographer for these pictures, so why, according to the “insider”, are the parents “mad’ at only Angie? And they wonder why X is hated more and more, because we all know that its because of her phoniness why Angie is still being persecuted all these years later.

This fraud house of cards will come falling down sooner than later, and I can’t wait.

You know me, Google, Google, Google. It beats hearing the lone troll on the grassy knoll whine.

Bl You are full of B..l. They were in NO very affectionate after NYF. So go peddle your foolishness somewhere else. My last response to an idiot troll.

ebmo,

One other thing that doesn’t make sense:

It seems that 2 of X films that she recently made, haven’t been able to find distributors, and not a peep from the media. Could you imagine if that was Angie or Brad? That would be reported ad nauseum.

Dj keep dreaming. Angelina did a press conference and interviews in NY a day before the premiere including foreign press, there are pics on jjb.you shall see interviews come up depending on when the Changeling is realised in different countries.
