Brooke Smith Booted From Grey’s Anatomy
Grey’s Anatomy star Brooke Smith, aka Dr. Erica Hahn, has been abruptly pulled from the hit medical drama, reports EW.
In fact, this Thursday is her final episode. Does it have anything to do with her character being involved with Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez), Grey’s first-ever significant gay couple?
But of course. The mag reports ABC “had issues with both the explicit direction Callica (Callie and Erica) was taking and, more importantly, with the Hahn character in general.”

Thank God she’s gone. Her character was absolutely obnoxious. Every time I see her on that show I want to bítch-slap her into the middle of next week.
i hate her character. she is too mean to everyone on show, especially christina yang. wow i wonder who is gonna replace her.

That’s pretty appaling in 2008 not to be able to handle a gay relationship. I love Grey’s and having read the interview, it seems the decision did come from ABC and not Shonda, so I guess their hands were tied.
The only plus would be Callie and Mark now getting together, otherwise, this could be a nightmare.
I didn’t like Erica, so I’m OK with it. Actually, I’m glad because there were too many characters…
I can understand cutting the character based singly off of the development but it’s sad that ABC can’t handle “explicit” homosexual situations better but is perfectly fine with them on ABC FAMILY. A bit hypocritical.
she’s not my favorite so i don’t really care…let the hating begin….cuz here come the gay bashers….lol
Can’t say I’m upset, it did make me uncomfortable watching those 2, but more than that, Hahn was just way too abrasive to be likable…

I hated her. It annoyed me that she was on the show, and Callie a lesbian? wtf? That was so random it was un-effin-believable.

I started as a big fan but all the good couples were killed and the only ones who are left are Meredith/Derek.

I didn’t like her character, but I liked the fact that there was a gay relationship portrayed on TV the way heterosexual couples are. It’s sad that in 2008, this is still an issue.

Really? That was abrupt. I haven’t seen the last 2 Grey episodes so I suppose the lesbian relationship won’t be working out. lol.
Their storyline didn’t bother me, but I hate her character! From the above posts, many people feel the same way about the character.
