Brooke Smith Booted From Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy star Brooke Smith, aka Dr. Erica Hahn, has been abruptly pulled from the hit medical drama, reports EW.

In fact, this Thursday is her final episode. Does it have anything to do with her character being involved with Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez), Grey’s first-ever significant gay couple?

But of course. The mag reports ABC “had issues with both the explicit direction Callica (Callie and Erica) was taking and, more importantly, with the Hahn character in general.”

Jay, they didn’t write her an exit story from what I read Hahn just gets in her car and thats the last you see of her.

I don’t think they portrayed the Hahn/Torres relationship as anything anywhere *near* real - no matter what Shonda’s said about doing “research” - so it’s no wonder the relationship ended before it began. It came across as strained and hard to watch because it HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW IT REALLY IS BETWEEN TWO WOMEN, whether they start out gay or not. Geez, the dead could see that.

Chrome-plated ***** though she was, I believe Hahn had potential and so did the relationship, and I’m sorry to see the demise of both.

I feel the worst for Brooke Smith, that’s for sure. I hope she vows never to do anything for ABC again.

I didn’t really have a problem with her. The gay thing was kind of a shock at first but I just got used to it. I feel bad for her, cause she was just doing what she was told. Oh well…but it’s true, there were too many characters.

This is BULL! Just because her character is a lesbian, she gets booted. Get real, ABC. There have been tons of lesbian characters on TV (Willow from Buffy, anyone).
I admit, I hated Hahn at first, but I started to like her. And finally Callie an Erica are together, and now THIS?
F**** ABC.
There is no point in watching Grey’s anymore. MerDer is so annoying.

the fact that people hate her and her character just shows how good of an actor she is. im sure shes not like that in real life. and why do people scrutinize the way she looks, not everyone looks like halle berry or jennifer aniston… come on people wake up! there are gay/ lesbian people out there and they to have jobs. i dont understand why they let her go because i liked her character sometimes she did make me mad but shes just passionate about her job.

I liked Erica Hahn very much - so that decision sucks.
And to treat the actress Brooke Smith like this is absolutely rude.
