OlderCarrie Underwood - “Elle” December 2008
Country superstar Carrie Underwood gets perky for the December 2008 cover of Elle. The complete article will be going live tomorrow along with a behind-the-scenes video from the cover shoot. In the meantime, this is what the 25-year-old former American Idol champ had to say about fame, her voice and that other blond:
On the rumor she was dating Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps: “I swear on everything, on my job, on my house, my dog…That’s how serious I am. It’s all just a lie. Anytime any [media source] ever says ‘a friend said,’ or ‘a close’ whatever – no, they didn’t! It’s just made up. None of my friends would say anything. Ever. About anything!”
On her comment that a taken Tony Romo still calls her: “It was just something that was said in passing, and I would never mean to say anything to hurt anybody or to stir up anything, because I’m just not about drama. At all. I might be mad too if somebody said my boyfriend was calling some other girl. So I can definitely see where she [Jessica Simpson] would be coming from. But I haven’t talked to him since, like, May.”
On whether or not she’s dating someone: “If I say I am or I’m not, as soon as this magazine comes out, it might be the opposite of what I tell you now. In three months, it’ll be ‘Carrie said she’s not dating anybody,’ yet last night, I was out on the town with some guy. He’s going to get mad at me. Everybody’s going to think I’m a liar. It’s just best not to go there.”
On life on the road: “I don’t know how people do it. It’s tiring. It’s hard. Right now I do a lot because I have no reason not to. I don’t have a husband or kids. If I go home, I’m home by myself. I have no reason not to be on the road, no reason not to just get out there and do everything right now, while I’m young enough to, while I can enjoy it. But I think when I get a little older, I definitely want to slow down, just because it’s very stressful. It’s hard on your body, hard on your mind, hard on your emotions.”
On dealing with celebrity: “I knew what I was signing up for, and I’m not complaining at all. I’ve learned how to deal with it, and my life is great, I’m a happy person. What are you going to do? Give it all up? No!”

I met her once and she was so dismissive. She’s letting the fame get to her head or maybe she was like that before.
Tony seems so sweet I don’t know why he talked to her anyway. He’s more suited to Jessica.
I hate to say this but I think she has a problem with exes. I started to notice it when her relationship with Chace Crawford ended. The way she talked about the end of it was ungraceful and bitter such as ” peace out and I don’t dislike him” . However, i let that comment goes by and chalked it up as she had a bad day. The her comment about Tony Romo the 1st time now this.I sorry but it seem to me that she always has to have the last word. I know she is talented but character is more important. As of today, I am officially off her band wagon and stop drinking her cool-aid.
You guys are effin stupid!!! You think she sat down and was like “OK LETS TALK ABOUT TONY AND JESSICA!” Yeah right. You little 10 year old girls need to realize shiznit before you open your mouths. Interviewers obviously are going to ask questions about her personal life and famous ex boyfriends, DUH! If she said “Lets not talk about that” then people will get on her ass for being dissmissive like shes hiding something. But the minute she gives a comment, a very classy comment, about the whole Romo thing, people are up in arms.
Get over yourselves. You just wish you were half as gorgeous and talented as Carrie Underwood.
Why does Carrie get all nervous talking about Jessica? I was reading the article online and it mentions when Jessica is brought up, Carrie nervously begins to bite her nails. If there is no drama or anything to hide, why get all weird about it?
LMOA at the 10 year old Taylor fans. They probably have brain damage form listening to her awful voice. Same goes for the Jessica fan that’s posting under different user names but isn’t smart enough to change the website address.
not my favourite cover but she is my favourite american idol winner. love her songs, voice and her in general. it frustrates me how the media portrays carrie as stuck up and obnoxious person just because she’s dated famous ppl. i think she’s humble and hasnt changed since. she’s just gotten a makeover…thats all.

Seriously it’s out there this is an apology from Carrie to Jessica. LOL Hell she can’t even say her name she addresses Jessica as her for gods sake. This took way too long for her even to mention it & I agree why the hell is she nervous & why did the journalist have to mention she was nervous. Is the journalist indicating they don’t believe her either. There is no way this could even be considered a genuine apology in any form.
Before you all get your panties in a knot Jessica verbally apologized in one of her radio interviewa & couple times & on Carrie site all she got was bashing etc & said she was not being genuine. It doesn’t feel good does it Carrie fans?
Geez, as a Taylor fan myself, I’m quite ashamed to read some of the comments from Taylor fans. You don’t need to slam Carrie unnecessarily, it actually makes Taylor (and her fans) looks worse, not better!!!

They are both very gracious and beautiful young ladies. There is no doubt about the talent - think about it. American idol - she was selected by call in votes in the millions. She won the Horizon award then the following year presented it to Taylor, she was very happy when she presented her with the award. I am sure Carrie and Taylor are very happy for each other and wish the best to one another.!!

If you were a Carrie Fan you would be a member to her official fan website. Any other website is most likely a fan initiated website, which could be the opinion of anyone. Before making such strong statements you should know more facts!
OMG, tia, learn to be humble from Taylor Swift!!!!???? Are you kidding me???? She is known for NOT being humble. She has videos all over myspace she made begging people to vote for her and does for everything she is up for. On interviews she has gone on, she even begs people to vote for her. She even got a bad review a few months ago saying that she needed to learn a little humility because she talked about all her accomplishments through the concert. Please, don’t lecture us on that girl being humble. She could learn a little humility from Carrie because Carrie would never dream of doing that.
